Sensor access - Ubuntu Touch Apps and Games

Hi guys,
Is it possible already to make applications that can retrieve values from the physical sensors on my Galaxy Nexus?? If yes, how can I do that?
Thank you very much

Work to retrieve values from sensors (Light, Location, Accelerometer, Proximity, Camera) is ongoing. I'm too new to post links in this forum, but look for the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/SdkFeatureStatus page in the Ubuntu wiki to track the progress.

Please help me! No location detail while taking photo

There isn't any location detail being captured while taking photo, any setting I need to do to enable it?
Appreciate if anyone here can advise me, thanks in advance.
yes, you need to enable geotagging for the location to work. you can find it in the camera's submenu.

Tks for the infor.
There isn't a geotagging under the camera's submenu but there is a gps tag option. i enabled it and still nothing happen.
Do i need to download the geotagging?
I think you need to turn your device GPS on with that option. Yes, GPS tag is geo tagging.
Regards.

Development help!!!

I am interested to find out what API calls the guys that write flashlight apps are using?
When trying to start the flash using Android documented API, I get only low intensity of light. Theirs is much stronger. I am sure they are using undocumented calls. The phone is Samsung Galaxy S2.
An example for a flashlight app is here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...uni.flashlight
Any help would be appreciated ! thanks

[WIP][Xposed]GyroEmu-Accelerometer/Magnetometer fusion

Hello,
Lots of devices from low to mid-end range don't have gyroscope installed, and thanks to that have AR capabilities severely decrased.
I'm working on Xpose module that uses Accelerometer and Magnetic Field Sensor to simulate Gyroscope output.
Module works by creating new Sensor instance and injecting it into SystemSensorManager sensor list after its constructor, so getDefaultSensor(Sensor.TYPE_GYROSCOPE) will return it.
Module registers then SensorEventListeners for accel and magnet sensors and does it's calculations on accelerometers update and calls onSensorChanged of listener that uses it.
I'm still working on calculating velocities properly and getting good quality noise-free output. I did some progress on this but it still does not work as intended. (rotation directions seem correct, or maybe are swapped or inverted, but that can by easily fixed, problem is with values, which are simply wrong.) Testing it is a problem though, since I don't own any device with actual gyro, so I'll be gratefull for any feedback.
xda won't let me post normal link yet, so here is repo: https://github.com/Mourdraug/GyroEmu/
And here is apk: https://github.com/Mourdraug/GyroEmu/raw/master/app/GyroEmu_0.1.apk
Woah, i thought that was impossible. Continue bro, this'll be an interesting module..[emoji106]

Amazing bro
Sweet!
Tested it a little bit. Well, it's okay on my 1st gen. Moto G. Tried to create pano in Google Camera. Can move my phone only vertically. So no horizontal reaction at all.
Thanks for your work! Keep it going on!
Interesting!!!
Continue the good work.
good work…
keep continue .
Already such a module in repo

Guys, does anybody of you know if there is a site listing ALL sensors mounted on smartphones? On all sites I only find partial, approximate and untrustable informations about this topic.
Neat!
Great work man! This is definitely a great news for those low-end devices..
would be good for Moto X Play owners

Just use an app that reads your hardware so you are on the safe side
Kinscreen, an app to keep screen on by positions and other related screen-on/screen-off functions, original complained about lack of gyro. Upgraded version got around this, works like a charm. Might have done the same as this module.

Can't use camera app and camera required apps.

I can't use the camera app. Sing! app by smule is also not working perfectly. When I start to sing with the video recording turned on, it starts recording nicely and my face is shown in the screen through my webcam. But after my recording, i can't see any video that recorded. A black screen is showing instead of that.
So please help me....
I am using Remix OS for PC.
If the camera is not working, it means that the drivers are probably missing from the kernel.
There are threads here that deal with replacing the kernel, so you should checl them as they may help.

Sorry about the late reply, I don't have as much time as I used to have.
As I has already stated, there are multiple threads dedicated to that purpose, you just need to search the subforum, and I stress this, the is a search function, you need to search and read.
And here is a (recent) example of such a thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/remix/remix-os/remix-os-updated-to-kernel-android-x86-t3596789

Using the fingerprint sensor in Tasker

Hello everyone,
i have a small question. Couldn't find a solution so far.
Is it possible to use the fingerprint sensor within Tasker? I simply want to turn off the display by pressing the fingerprint sensor. In Lineage OS this function is not available so i want to do it on my own.
Greetings and thanks,
I'm not sure about tasker, but this one worked for me: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ztc1997.fingerprint2sleep

This app works just fine. Friends told me about it already. But somehow it must possible to access the sensor within tasker or an java object. Just don't know where to look.

Ah yeah that would be ideal, maybe here: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....e-custom-fingerprint-actions-with-tasker/amp/
