Moonshine is like all in one package right? It will SOFF my device and install root and cistom recovery? Unlike revone i need to go through htcdev to unlock and root my device.

I believe that only applies to the droid DNA. All others use htcdev

Moonshine is a tool to give you S-OFF on your phone, and install a custom hboot which will give you most of the advantages of an engineering hboot. The custom hboot will allow you to individually flash or erase any partition on your phone.
What moonshine can do for you..
S-OFF Your HTC device if it is a supported model and firmware
Unlock your bootloader (devices that are blocked by HTCDEV.com)
Install moonshine hboot. This is a customized hboot with many eng-style commands.
Install su binary
Install Superuser.apk
Install busybox
Install an unsecure stock kernel
Revone requires you have knowledge of adb/fastboot in CMD. For beginners i definitively recommend Moonshine!!! Oooh and dont forget to buy those guys a beer! Countless hours (days) have been put into coming up with this method.
Yes, you must unlock your device at htcdev first right?

i know i have been around long enough to know this but for some reason i can't think of the answer. i have rooted many phones and am content with flashing roms and thats about it. i have the new 2.89 firmware with the stock ics rom from virus and can't figure out, if i am already s-off but my new bootloader is locked is there a reason to want to unlock the bootloader if i am already s-off? i never really paid attention if it was locked before.
S-off > locked, so you're good to go.

flash Juopunutbear hboot from: http://unlimited.io/hboot-downloads/
The JB hboot is similar to an Unlocked bootloader, but supports more commands & doesn't need you to unlock the bootloader via HTC Dev.
Since you are S Off, you can flash hboots & don't ever need to unlock via HTC dev again.

You are probably using SuperSu as the superuser app. You can go into settings of that app and select permanent unroot.
You can then lock up you bootloader by opening a command prompt and going to your adb and using fast boot commands you can type fastboot OEM lock you can then proceed to download the latest ruu 2.13 just search the on here for it and run that with your phone still connected to your computer.
If your soff you can just run the ruu or install a stock ROM via recovery.
Multiple ways to do it just depends on a lot of variables like what ROM your on, s-off or s-on, what hboot your on 1.12 or 1.15, if you just want root gone or you also what to dump custom recovery as well and if you want it completely stock like it just came out of the box.
Let us know some more info and someone will help out

It depends how you rooted it.
Its different each way.

Theres no need to undo the superuser app. Any unroot method is going to install the unrooted ROM

True, but still a way to unroot.
If he just wants to unroot that's the quickest way to do it and probably the easiest.

You are right. That's not what most people want when they go to unroot though. H-boot will still be unlocked/S-OFF and the phone will probably still have a custom recovery (depending on root method)
So get back to us OP

I want my phone to be just like fresh out of the box. And I have s-on.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
I too would like to know about this, fresh out of the box.
In that case, relock bootloader as per the instructions above, and then run the appropriate RUU for your firmware version.

If S-OFF it requires you to run the S-ON tool as well.
Its really a different process for each root method available
Which Rom should I use to unroot?
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
I mean do I need to put a Stock Rom on before I unroot?

No, and you never told us how you rooted. So we can't give you the directions you need

You'll need to re-lock the phone and then run the RUU then.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yS7yy4XVA4
RUU:
http://stockroms.net/file/HTCEvo4GLTE/RUU
For h-boot 1.15 you'll need the 1.22 RUU
You run it from your computer.
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone can point me to the right direction. I had a silver HTC One that I successfully unlocked the bootloader and rooted but unfortunately had to return do to faulty hardware. ATT sent me a black HTC One but I can't seem to unlock the bootloader now. I am using the All in one toolkit but in the final stage where it uses the unlock.bin file, it fails. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
I would try s-off through revone exploit. No need to unlock just get s-off, install custom recovery and flash away

I'm on hboot 1.55. I've unlocked the bootloader, added twrp recovery and rooted....I'm having issues obtaining s off with rumrunner. Is rumrunner my only option to obtain s off? I'm trying to turn my AT&T HTC One into a GPE One...

Yes and why don't you post your issue on the rumrunner forums because you will have a better chance of getting help there then here.
Ok thank you

if you want to lock relock without htc devs your gonna need soff. use firewater for 2.49 hboot. once soff, use scotty's method for lock and unlock bootloder.
once soff, install twrp recovery. it will ask if you want to root on exit.
