Hello.
In JB, there's an option to connect ringer and notification volume, but there's no option to connect ringer/notification with "Music, video and other media" volume.
It's completely annoying when you have "silent + vibration" mode, start a game and the sound is maxed!
Any way to fix it?

Sound-> Volume Panel style->Expanded.This is the best thing I could give you, without having to mod ROM.
Thank you by this time, the only thing I could find is to install Volume Control pro. Helps a bit.
But is threre any way to patch Android for the same result? That's the question..

go into settings-> sound and display -> and set the "single volume" slider button to off. Then you when you use the volume rocker to change your volume you can mute the ringer volume while leaving the music(system) volume intact

This can't work since the SMS Sound is part of the system sounds...
So you still hear the SMS sound when you have Ring turned all the way down.
I also want to know how to do that!
Exactly , I already tried that method.
So I guess there's no solution for this problem.
Farewell then...
Hi everyone,
Just wondering which sound setting controls volume for voice talk notification? When I do driving mode and a call is incoming, the volume is really low. I set my ringer volume on the lowest (one bar up from vibrate mode). I'm guessing this is it... but can anyone verify?
I'm at work now so didn't want to disrupt people by my phone going off figuring this out.
Thanks!
Hi everybody,
I've disagreements with function of volume button in "normal mode".. because ring volume is absolutely useless for me.. I would like control media volume instead of ring volume in "normal mode".. Does anyone know how I can do that?
Thank you very much
PS: sorry for my EN
really nobody knows?
When media are being played, the volume keys adjust media volume,
so why would anyone need to adjust media volume without playing any already?

because..for example:
I'm browsing on internet and I want click on some video. But I remember in last time I was listening to music very loudly and I don't want loud video now.. the easiest way is click on video and after that pressing "-" volume button.. but phone takes time to know he is in "media mode", and begins reducing ring volume.. after that I want back my level of ring volume to max, but phone already increasing media volume => I am very angry!!
the same in games etc etc...
I don't want changing ring volume 10x a day (knowingly or UNINTENTIONALLY too) I don't need change it ever. I can recuce it in Settings, or completely in lock screen...
That's why...

Happens to me too, i use an app from the market called status bar shortcuts, so i pinned the volume settings right in the status bar so i can adjust the media volume quickly
You could try that

thank you mate, I know about this app but it still doesn't solve my problem... It will be a lot better to adjust something in system and change ring volume to media volume in function of volume button but I don't know where and how..

Hey I am having some major sound issues with my device. The only changes I have made are rooting it. Sound modes seem to have no effect on volume sliders. When the volume is on and if I go to vibrate mode or silent mode, nothing happens. All the volume stays on and will continue. I tried bypassing the issue by installing volume control + with no results. Volume sliders were not changed by the app either. Anyone else have this issue, any ideas on how to fix it?
Thanks
Update: Resolved, there was something wrong with the root package I used the first time. I used a new one and all is good.
Afaik 'silent' only applies to alerts and notifications such as the phone ringing on incoming calls. It does not apply to the multimedia volume.

The issue includes notifications and ringtone. They both continue to play at normal volumes in silent and vibrate mode.
Changing to cyanogenmod fixed this issue for me.
Is it possible to link the media and notification volume? So when I mute my volume via the volume buttons, that the media volume is also muted. I hope you understand, what i mean . It's similar to the volume management on the iPhone.
I'm using CM10.1 on my Nexus 4.
Sounds to be a nice idea. I would also like to know about an app which will do the same.. For time being i think you can depend on some notification widgets which will disable the media volume..
