how to fix mediaserver on cm10.1?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app

This is not how we do things here, you don't get to post two threads about the same issue.
People will help you in one thread, tell you to get your things right in a second thread, as I'm doing right now.
And don't say you're a noob, that's not good enough.

I never ran stock KK6 but hear it's worthless. ShoStock uses KK6 and a lot of people are very happy with it. Picking a ROM is very much a trial and error deal. Get a kernel with recovery and do a nandroid back up and try them all and if you don't like them you can easily return where you were. I don't know about your other question sadly. I did the Zedomax root a long time ago and don't remember if I had to do a full wipe. I'd say just bite the bullet and do the wipe. Back up all your info somewhere though.

Dropping the f bomb really isn't necessary, and is far more offensive than saying some silly remark about being literate.
Edit:: you don't want the mods to close down your thread. Yet u refuse to Google search and use profanity.

Looks like you already had one thread open about this. Not a good idea.

Don't just make threads over and over when no one is willing to spoon feed you the answer. Read the faq's. If they don't make sense to you, maybe you shouldn't be messing with your phone

The topic of rooting is already well covered in FAQs and other sticky threads.

Ding, ding, ding...we have a winner!
This is one of the downfalls of Android being mainstream. Too many people doing things they have business doing. I partly blame blogs like Android police and phandroid. They have a habit of promoting rooting with no responsibility of showing them how. They just point everyone to XDA.

EDIT... Just noticed your other thread asking the same thing. So I can understand the posts you got here, but since that was also one of the threads where I thought the answer was, your search for qualified assistance may require a bit more effort and politeness on your part, even if others are being rude.
Honestly, if you do a search and read a bit, like the forum rules say to do, before posting, you will find that this has been asked and well answered in another thread where name calling wasn't resorted to. Sorry I don't remember the answer, but I think it was just like flashing any other tab. Don't take that as a legit answer though because my memory fails often. I do know I have seen this asked and answered several other times though.
So for the best results do a search. Really, it works.

Misledz is often a great help. Good to see him post for you cause usually if it can be fixed, it gets fixed with his help. He's who I'd want helping me.
I know how frustrating searching for an answer can be sometimes, so now it's just a matter of patience as we're all in different time zones.
Best of luck... sorry I can't help you myself but my limited knowledge of anything not standard is still too limited.

Why thank you good sir Benz
Then again, recovery mode has always been the straightforward thing to do, it's just timing, I did a little research on I/O edition to check for differences and it seems there is not much that's different, the recovery kickup is the same, Vol Down+ Power {When the device is off}, Then again, you shouldn't have USB plugged in when you do it as it conflicts with the key combo.
The thread I linked you describes the same method for kicking it into recovery, he is also an owner of an I/O series, I wish I had one to make it easier but sadly I can't see where your issue lies, but I am willing to stick by till you get this done right, Hope that helps.
Fitz
Thank u guys I really appreciate it..I tried the power + volume key with/without USB plugged in and all that pops up is the downloading mode and USB icon..like I said I've had many Samsung phones and never had a problem lol but I'll update u guys n thanks for the support

I think the big problem was that version of clockwork isn't compatible.
I have the same tablet and used the same process as the regular tab and worked just fine for me running CM9 right now

Hot phone = crash

Hi,
I'm running resurrection 2.6.1 on my sgsII with cyanogen kernel.
Recently I've been finding the phone has warmed up to a worrying temp so I remove battery &let it cool down. More recently I've been finding the phone had turned itself off, no obvious reasons I can find.
Bbs does not give me anything to go on, it seems to only have info going back maybe an hour when actually the phone has been on for 4 hours+
I've fixed permissions , cleared delvik cache to see if if helps but no.
Anyone having similar issues or found a fix?
Thanks for reading
D.

Pure android on the S3

Hey all.
I know this is a bit of a stupid question i guess, but i am not very knowledgable with roots/stocks or any other term you use. But ill ask anyway,
I am considering messing around with my S3, i am thinking about seeing if i can install a clean as google intended Jelly bean OS. Is this possible? What is the best and simplest way, and what is the risk percentage? What are the cons to such a move? And lastly is it easy to revert back to normal if i dont like it or send phone back to network for fixing at any point?
I know its quite a lot to ask. But i appreciate any help i can get.
Regards,
Barry.

Go to the Q&A forum and read the "Must do info guide for beginners."
Barry, try CM10 or AOKP.
Better ask in Q&A next time.

I would recommend that you check out either of the roms below. I reckon that these will currently give you the closest stock android jellybean that you are after. Just get your s3 rooted and add clockwork mod recovery then wipe and flash the rom zips and gapps.

The point of their posts was to point out your mistake.
It really doesn't take much leg work on your part to answer your own question without creating this thread....
Good luck modding your s 3.
With so many different options and considering this is my first venture into messing with my s3 i thought id ask to be sure.
Thanks for making feel so welcome and empowering me and giving me confidence to ask questions when i am unsure about things. *sarcasm*

The issue was that you asked a question in the Development forum and not the Q&A forum. We run a tight ship around here. Moved your thread to correct forum.
As others have said, CM 10 is your best bet.

How long have you been reading the forum? If you have been here for any length of time you will see the same questions being asked time and time again by people that don't put any effort into finding out how to solve it themselves.
Feel free to ask questions about things, but do your research first, your question showed that you didn't do this, hence the response you got.
Putting it in the wrong forum didn't help either.

Music question

Hello, I understand that many of the ROMs are having issues with the music playback. I know the fix is just changing 2 lines in the build prop.. My question is, if that's the fix then why do the devs not make the fix before they release their builds? Seems like it would make life a little easier for all involved?

Is it that hard to change two words? Besides you can just save a file and make it permanent.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Thank you Zach that is exactly what I'm saying! Is it really that hard for Devs to make this change knowing that if they do not then everyone that uses their product will have to? I just do not see the sense in not changing it prerelease as I have seen tons of users commenting on here complaining about the music issue only to be directed to the fix. Why does there need to be a fix?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
I meant on your end. Just change it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
brah its two little lines takes all of thirty seconds to do not that big of a deal, maybe they don't do it because there to busy making you a free rom. I get what your saying though, but I think we as users shouldn't have to be spoon fed everything. If a dev fixes it for us in his rom great if not no biggie I'll do it myself. Don't forget they really don't get paid for doing this for us.
Thread closed, but the post immediately before this one is well stated.
Perhaps some users need to be reminded and read this link as well. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16682226&postcount=2441
Appreciate what work is getting done and please do not be so self-righteous when wanting something.
Or, do it yourself.
