Take that shot after a format, my other folders were like that and there is no external sd card. Also sorry i have to take that screensnap from an application because screen shot button on the my keyboard is not working.

Try using a file manager to locate your files. The link about 4.2 sdcard in my signature should help
Then factory reset if you can't get it working

Thank you
Factory reset is not working, cant format internal sd card because it says its not mounted.
Also i am on a 4.1.2 firmware, not a 4.2

You can't format it via android or the pc so don't try.
You said you used cm. 4.2 no? So use the info in reverse.
You cab only "format" internal sd via recovery

Aw sorry yes, they must be 4.2
I formatted through recovery but all folders are still blank when i connect to computer.
now i got 0, Android, Application, clockworkmod and Playlist folders and they are all blank like screenshot

Forget computer. Lets concentrate on getting the files showing on your phone.
If you're on 4.1, you shouldn't need a 0 folder. All your data should be In there.
Probably simplest to go back to cm backup / nandroid, copy data to pc

Switch from mtp to ptp and back. Reboot computer. Ensure kies isn't running. Try different usb port and cable.

Insufficient storage space Problem

Here's the deal, I flashed Malice v5, but I missed bi-winning alot, so i odined to stock, then flashed Bi-Winning V3. Now all of a sudden when I download something from the market, it says not enough storage space, when CLEARLY I have alot, why does it say that? Then whenever I restore like 7 apps from titanium, they dont install, and yet titanium says it does!
I've tried Odin back to stock then reflashing, but that didn't work, im guessing something from Malice screwed me up, what's the fix?
Here's the pic of titanium space just in case,
Thanks a bunch!

I had the same issue. Clearing my market cache fixed it though.

I went back to froyo bootloader then to Bi-Winning, it worked for the part of restoring apps, but then I went to the market to download an app, but it said insufficient storage still! I tried to clear market cache, but u have nnone, now what?
EDIT: Nvm, Titanium can't restore those small chunk of apps.

Try clearing market cache and data. Are you using the new market? If so, use the old one and see if it makes a difference.

I fixed the problem. I Odin back to Stock a third time with repartiton checked, then backed up then formatted my internal and external SD cards. Then after that, while still on stock, put my files and folders back on my SD cards, and then flashed Bi-Winning V3.
I restored all my apps successfully through titanium, and installed about 3 apps from the market too. I also updated 7 apps at the same time through the market successfully.
Everything seems to be going smooth! I'm positive I've fixed my problem, thanks for all your help guys!

If you look on your SD Card you should see a file named rootme.zip.... turn ooff your phone. Boot into recovery holding volume up and power button. Scroll to "Flash zip from sdcard" and select it. Then choose the rootme.zip. Once it says install complete reboot your phone and you should see superuser app in your app drawer.

The titanium backup will backup all installed apps and data including system apps and data if you want but you shouldn't need to backup system apps since you are going to a different ROM. A NAND backup basically creates an exact duplicate of your entire phone. So if anything happens when you flash your new ROM you can restore your NAND and be right back where you started.

[Solved] Lockscreen not activating and power button turns it off

Hi all,
I have a big problem right now with my SIII....
I lost my gsm signal twice by using cleaning kernel script by mistake belongs to Galaxy note N7000, I have backup ESF folder and I'm restoring it in each time I lost my signal, for my surprise I lost my lock screen and it's not activating (not showing) and when I left the power button pushed to get the menu of power, airplane mode and reboot the phone power off, then I went back to Recovery Mode, wipe the dalvik, the cache reboot it and nothing... I formated everything and followed some steps how to recover the lock screen back with nothing happened like these commands throw ADB shell:
- type into the command:
su
echo -n ON > /efs/imei/keystr
sync
and I made the file keystr manually with command ON with no result.
And I checked setupwizard.apk in my system folder and still there, I have flashed stock rom since I'm on Omega v12.
Also, when I boot up my device with wifi On I'm facing Factory mode ON and disables the wifi but I can activate it back with no issue.
I have followed this thread for Factory mode ON with no result:
[Q]How exit FACTORY MODE ???
I have tried everything I could and found on google search and still I have the issue.
I flashed [Rom]GT-I9300 Resurrection Remix JB v3.0.3[10/08][AOKP JB PRE](AROMA+OTA)
and the issue disappeared, lockscreen activated and power button functioning as it should be, with jelly bean
rom my problem no more there but with ISC roms failed again. Also, I made double check on hidden feature
which called shutdown.app by typing in dialer *#7594# code and it's unchecked.
So, any suggestions ?
Edit: Btw, sorry for my bad English.
Have you try format system partition before flashing stock rom?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Formatting system will most probably solve the issue. I would recommend doing that whenever you are switching between different android systems as it is always cleaner
Formatting system or anything else will not solve your issue. It is causes by a problem in your efs folder. This happened to alot of people on the S2 when upgrading to ICS, including myself. Took me months to finally figure it out.
Anyway, first step. Using root explorer or similar, navigate to your efs folder, then the factoryapp folder. In there check if you have these 2 files - factorymode & keystr.
If they are there click on them and open in text viewer. In both you should see the words 'ON'. If not, reopen in text editor and key those word in, in capital letters then save.
Try this and report back.

This is the exact same issue with the S2. When you lock the screen it goes straight to the home screen and holding the power button for a little powers the phone off.
Anyway, below is what my factory app and imei folders look like. Maybe move the keystr file from the imei folder to the factory app folder and test. Might need to reboot.

I have efs backup before the problem came up. imei folder doesn't have keystr but still not working.
What I 'll do now, I would restore jelly bean rom which lock screen nd power button are working normally then I'm gonna back up
EFS folder to my external SD then I 'll replace it with the one on the ISC rom. I hope this works.
Edit: I checked with Hex as well and made it as instruction but no luck.
Edit2: I replaced EFS folder w/ the one on jelly bean rom but also no luck!!.

What is the correct size for efs backup?

So somehow i have used several tools for backing up my efs. I noticed today that one of those backups is about 33kB in tar.gz format. Second tool that I used to backup made a backup of 20 megs and in img format. Does that look correct? Which one should I use in case something bad happens.

So the backup that omega made created a backup folder? Will it be possible to share a screen shot of that folder so that I can compare with what I have.
That 33kB backup that I have doesn't sound good at all then. Is it possible to use omega's backup without installing his rom?

I think I found out what is going on.
I opened the efs folder using root explorer and looked at the properties. It is 6 MB.
Then I zipped this folder and named it efs-manual.zip and this file is just over 60Kb. Also I created a back-up using omega rom and it has a similar size file in different format so I asume it uses a different compression algorithm.
Well I'm covered now. Thanks everyone for help.

When it comes to efs I don't trust these backup apps and compression. Besides you need to copy to your PC or cloud to be safe. Good old copy paste root explorer

To see efs folder you need to root your phone. It is located in / folder.
Efs backup size is different because of method used to perform this operation.
Size of this partition is ca. 20 MB that why if you made backup in so called 'raw dump' (img) it has mentioned 20MB. It's the best method u can use because it has all information about partition and files (most important are files permissions and owner informations).
Another methods backup only files stored on efs partition and compressing it into one file (.tar or .tar.gz). They can be highly compressed because of its binnary structure fulfilled mostly by zeroes.
It's good to have couple different backup formats of this partition. Most important is nv_data.bin which have stored your device specific informations as IMEI and such things.
In this partition also are stored infos about WiFi, bluetooth mac address etc.
i9.0.1.3k galaxy imperator

[Guide][Re-partiton][1.9GB_extra_space][Flashable zip]

Update : Working on T889(T-Mobile) & AT&T GalaxyNote2 too.
Based on @ninekaw9 's original script from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52989641
I ported this for the N7105.
Please read the post fully before trying this.
This file basically reduces the space assigned to cache and preload partitions and reassigns that extra space to your internal sdcard.
What is preload?
Used for storing Samsung's pre-loaded bloatwares like some wallpapers and "Wonders of Nature" video that you find on your phone after a factory reset or after buying a new phone.
Reducing the cache partition:
Cache basically stores the apps from Google play while they are downloading and the rest of it is used for storing OTA updates.
The OTA updates from Samsung and big in size and hence cache has 1GB of size to store those big updates.
So basically I reduced the cache size from 1GB to 100mb because Kitkat is the last update for Note2 afaik and the phone would be out of OTA service after Kitkat.
Won't reducing cache size break some other things?
No. It won't. As I have still kept 100mb in the cache that would be fine for playstore downloads.
Can I return to stock partition size after doing this?
Yes. Find the .pit file for your device and flash stock firmware through odin alongwith the pit file.
Here is the pit file just in case if you want to go back to stock partition size. Stock_PIT_N7105
What you need to have to Re-partiton
Philz recovery installed (latest version)for t0lte device.
Note that TWRP WONT WORK as it doesn't have some binaries for partitioning.
Nandroid backup or a rom zip file in your external sdcard is a must.
Backup your internal sdcard as it will be formatted in the process.
Procedure :
1.Boot into philz recovery
2.Flash the file which is linked here.
Partition_N7105_16GB_model_only
After flashing the recovery will automatically reboot.
3.Next you will see some mounting errors. Don't worry. Just go to mounts and storage and do this
Format /data
Format /system
Format /sdcard0
Format /preload
Please don't format /boot /modem or /sdcard1.
4. So after formatting it's all done. Now you can restore nandroid or flash a new rom.
5. If you are having issue restoring your nandroid backup then read this post and do exactly what he says
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53207492
Note: You can still flash bootloaders and modems from odin after doing this re-partioning. No need to flash with pit file.
However if you want to flash a full rom from odin then pit file is required.
All credits to @ninekaw9 and @forumber2 for their original scripts. You guys are awesome ?

Would this be safe on the T889?
I know kernels for N7105 are ok on it, would love the extra space. Not sure if the partition alignments are the same between though.

Did you back it up with Philz or TWRP? I'm about to try this. Have you tried flashing a fresh Rom?

Restoring a backup from TWRP with Philz and vice versa, they usually don't play nice. I'm going to flash TWRP back after doing the partition and see if the nandroid I make works. Have you got a Rom up and running now?

Hmm okay. Well the good news is you have a Rom up and running. Just can't restore your old nandroid. Good to know.
I might do the whole thing, set up a new Rom, Nandroid that, wipe everything clean in recovery, then try restore the nandroid and see what happens.

If restoring nandroid doesn't work for you guys then you should try nandroid manager app from playstore. It lets you restore the stuff you want from your nandroid backup.
And do remember to format partitons manually after running the script. Format them from philz itself. Otherwise they won't mount.

BTW nandroids that I can't restore are only made on external SD card. Nandroid made on the phone itself work perfectly. Wonders is that help.
P.S. I did what u mentioned a long time ago when something happened to my phone.
