[Q] Please Help! No OS on my phone. - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

In an attempt to flash the GPE ROM last night, I ended up with no OS on my phone. All I can figure is I tapped some wrong buttons in Recovery, the perils of FUI (Flashing Under the Influence...).
Bootlader is unlocked, S-OFF, and TWRP Recovery.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I believe you can sideload a Rom from recovery if you've wiped the phone. While I haven't done it myself, search around for the custom recovery that you are using and sideloading. It should get you back in business. There should be plenty of threads about dissipating roms. Good luck.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Thanks! I was unaware of the sideload feature.
It was a simple matter of booting into recovery, starting adb sideload, and then sending the adb command "adb sideload romname.zip"
Everything's working great now!

so wait you cant just plug the phone into PC and turn on mass storage? D:

[q] htc one wiped internal storage adb not working

Hi, everyone. I wiped the internal storage on my htc one on accident while trying to wipe the dalvik cache on twrp. Now when I turn on my phone it gets stuck on the splash screen. I hold down the volume button when turning it on and it goes to hboot where I am able to navigate to fastboot and my twrp recovery. Besides those two things all data on my phone is completely gone the storage only has about 16 megabytes on it now. In the cmd prompt typing in adb comes up with device not found and adb device shows an empty list. Fastboot devices in cmd however dpes find my phone which is odd. Updating my drives doesn't work and the mtp driver can not install for some reason. So I can not use adb to push or sideload anything. I could use twrp to sideload something maybe if I could somehow get something onto my phone. RUU won't work because I never turned my s-off and since I am now at this stage I don't know of anyway I can turn my s-off. Could someone maybe tell me how I could get my adb to find my device(updating drivers doesn't work). Really any way to solve this would be appreciated I tried so many things. I've unlocked and relocked bootloader so many times for different things. Basically there is no os on my phone. I can not use adb to put a rom on my phone. I only have access to hboot fastboot usb and twrp recovery. Please links and some instructions would be very much appreciated. If you help me fix my phone I will ofcourse give you thanks on your reply and when I can I will donate money to you(not saying any time soon as I do not have a job and am currently looking but I will remember you for saving my phone and I am the type of person to return favors).
No need for thanks or money, but if your device supports otg cable you may be able to load a ROM on there, don't have a one so I can tell you if it does
True, without s-off or super cid you can't flash older versions of an os than you're currently on but that doesn't mean in the future there won't be an ruu that is newer, of course that won't help you now but its something at least (and another reason why s-off is key for any HTC phone)
But If otg doesn't work than you need to find something that will flash in bootloader (double check if there are any stock ROMs, try them all - at least look into them all) and as for adb see if you need to update binaries on your PC, open the SDK and try to update. Also try to uninstall first then reinstall drivers
Best of luck!

I just got my adb to recognize my phone however it only recognizes it while in twrp recovery.
That's normal, it won't work in bootloader ever, just recovery and os
So your good now right? Just need to adb sideload and your off to the next ROM!
Seriously consider s-off though, I highly recommend it when possible
Happy flashing!

adb sideload wont work it says unable to mount data and unable to mount internal storage and unable to mount everything else it is supposed to mount
Sounds suspiciously like corrupt partitions, hopefully formating within recovery will fix this, may need to flash recovery again from fastboot

[Q] HTC not recognized by comp

Long story short...
Bootloader unlocked, rooted HTC One, Installed GE rom.
Now, selling phone. Did a wipe and reset. All my .zip rom files gone...and NO OS!
I am able to get to fastboot AND twrp no problem, but my computer won't recognize device so I can bring in my .zip roms to re-flash.
Again, phone says I have no OS. How do I get my phone to show up on computer to re-flash my OS?? I want to re-install the GE rom so I can ship the phone off to the buyer.
Anyone?? I'm simply stuck within the boodloader or twrp recovery. I can't go anywhere else. I have NO img rom on the device. I can't get S-OFF. How the heck to I get a rom back on the phone??? Stock, custom...I don't care at this point. Comp won't bring it up as storage device.

I've tried everything listed in that thread link. ADB sideload is not working for me. ADB push is not doing anything. See attached image for the failure I'm getting with ADB sideload.

[Q] phone won't boot

So I clearly screwed something up. Was running Viper 2.0.3 but went to reset/wipe and think i accidnetly formatted the sdcard then system also in CWM. Now i can't get anything to boot. I can get into CWM but am struggling to figure out how to flash something so a ROM will load. I'm clearly a newby with this. Pretty sure I have adb setup right,as it apprears to recognize the device with adb devices, but this was my first foray into adb so i'm struggling with this. Any help from the community would be more than appreciated, as I'm trying to set this up for my mother's first smart phone.

ok, i was messing with that... so "adb sideload ViperDNA_2.0.3.zip" where the viper zip is in the adb folder? just tried that and is says it * can not read ViperDNA_2.0.3.zip * ?? Appreciate the resonse, i think this is easily solveable since i can boot to recovery and still have CWM.. just need a nudge to get over the top...
EDIT: figured it out... thanks to xda and all for providing a resource so useful.

[Q] Buggerit!

Good evening Ladies & Gents.
Firstly can I say, this site has been my bible, and I am so very very grateful for all the work that everyone has put in to making this site what it is.
Now down to business.
I have an HOX+ and have been flashing for about a year now but still consider myself to be a complete nub! first with hox then i broke it and now hox+. Im in a bit of a predicament.
I flashed a version of aosp 4.4 onto the phone, installed from the zip file, cleared the cache, user data and dalvik.
rebooted, and got stuck in a boot loop.
So i went to my backup and restored from there...
boot loop again.
So i went back into bootloader, then fastboot, and reflashed the viper+ 2.0.1 that I had on before.
But when I got stuck on sending boot
Now im stuck in a boot loop, none of my backups will restore properly.
I fear I am hardbricked as I cant get anything to work...
Any help before I have to be back at work tomorrow would be very helpful! and even more appreciated!
Yours
A very frustrated and stressed British nub
Sorry, also, I have checked through xda and I cant seem to find anything that would explain why I am stuck!

No, does that require different fastboot commands?
i have cwm touch recovery installed. Would that make a difference?
Also, could I just say thank you in advance for your help sir!

Well the bootlooping has something to do with not flashing the boot.img stated by yourself and lloir. About that bug of "Sending boot.img", it happens to me but I fix it by running CMD as administrator , If that doesnt work, try using a different usb port. Preferably one directly to pc/laptop rather than using a hub. Try a 3.0usb port first, if that doesnt work then 2.0usb port.
P.S Without S-Off you can't become hardbricked. Till now I didn't see a single person who bricked their HOX+ unless he received an S-Off developer phone..

have you got a rom on the sdcard (in cwm) if yes
wipe data/system/cache
then
reboot into bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
if not ----------
full wipe (as above)
adb sideload romname.zip
then reboot into bootloader as above

I have the zip on the internal storage as i dont have "sd/ext" or what ever the extention is. When I bought the phone I never had the sd card. Never was able to save anything onto an sd card.
so should i try installing from the zip? even though the fastboot commands arent working?
or would a sideload skip the fastboot commands?
or am i just being completely retarded
Edt - just tried the sideload using the cmd, and i had error: device not found
so windows isnt recognising my phone...it was working this morning

HTC sync uninstalled ?
you have killed adb (if on windows just kick open taskman and kill adb)
or in cmd\terminal adb kill-server
then do adb devices
reboot pc?
try a different usb cable (maybe the one from your charger if you are not using that one)
*edit the above is assuming you are in recovery
IF NOT in recovery, but fastboot_usb mode
then fastboot devices (but you cannot do jack apart from flash boot image)
IF in recovery, you got a few choices
wait 5-10minutes (don't ask, it's a common issue with the X+ and CWM\TWRP)
put the device in adb sideload for a minute or so (^ see above reason)
i have adb issues in CWM\TWRP myself, especially when i have no rom and so on, so i know your frustration, patience young padwan
looking good so far

So I tried starting cmd in administrator mode [never had to before]
- Didnt work
- Plugged into a different usb slot as lloir suggested, didnt get the "windows does not recognise this device" this time
restarted cmd as admin like Ghandour suggested.
Just managed to install the viperx+ 2.0.1 rom and i am now setting it up!
THANK YOU SO FREAKING MUCH GUYS [and gals if either of you are female]!
do you know why I had to start using cmd as an administrator?

[Q] Accidentally formatted system AND internal memory, help!!!

I need to reflash stock ROM, however I made the dumb mistake of accidentally formatting everything prior to flashing the new ROM. So I have no OS and no way of mounting the sdcard to ADB push the ROM from my computer instead. I've heard CWM (my recovery) has native support for ADB, but I'm pretty inexperienced). Can anybody point me in the right direction? Sorry if this is a repost, none of the threads I've tried have worried for me thus far.

as for my understanding you don't need nothing to run the RUU
i think it is reinstalling all partitions from scratch
You can use adb push from both twrp and cwm... But yeah for the ruu you don't need to put anything on your phone.

First, don't panic.
Download the ROM you want onto your computer, put it in the same directory as your ADB/SDK tools.
Then, on your phone, press and hold power and volume until it reboots into bootloader.
Press volume down to highlight recovery and then press power to boot into recovery.
Once in recovery you can use ADB Sideload to load ROM to phone from computer.
Enjoy...

Try installing PDAnet on your computer.
You don't really need the tether app part of the install, but it doesn't hurt.
The main thing you are after, is the drivers it will install.
Run the installer and follow the prompts on your monitor.
That should get the device recognized, assuming you have adb/fastboot set up properly.
Your going to laugh but install pdanet and it will reinstall adb. I don't like cwm I'd advise u gonwith twrp unless ur going to use cm 11

Hello. A real big thank you for you. You gave me a big hope by the two words "Dont Panic". Your advice was a huge hint on how to get back my HTC One. I researched on ADB Sideload and within One Hour I got back my phone to normal. Thank You. You are God!
I downloaded a custom ROM and did the adb sideload. It worked. If computer doesnt recognise your device in recovery, try plugging it into other usb ports on your computer.
