i have recently bought a TG01, when i got it it was running the orange WM6.1 rom, it wouldnt detect either my 4GB or 8GB micro sd cards, i had to lend a 1GB card to run the official 6.5 update, now the 4 and 8gb cards are detected but whenever i try to flash a rom i get SD Mount error after it loads the SDDL. anyone know why this would happen and if it could be due to that its been partitioned for use on a hero previously?

From the beginning we have problem with the cards. You can find more info in (http://www.modaco.com/content/toshi...m/291115/toshiba-tg01-memory-card-corruption/).
Try to format your card and start from 0.

Try to format your card and start from 0. I had this problem but don't remember with witch program I format the sd card. Wen I bought my TG01 it show me just 1GB and the card was 8GB then I find some info that you need to format y our card but I didn't find now where is this info. In the modaco web you can find more info and in google about this.
ive tried formatting it several times, the phone picks up the card fine when in winmo, i just cant flash any roms with it as the SDDL cant mount it.

To format your card use (“sdfv2000.exe”) I uploaded for you. Try it if not working I have an other solution.
Same Issue.
I have been having the same issue since day 1. Has driven me insane with program's icons that are loaded up on the sd card not showing up properly in the start menu, they always have a blank icon on them. Has really driven me crazy. Has anyone found a solution to this?
try and use sddl+ to flash the rom instead of just sddl
Already did that.

Thank you for your advice however I already tried that potential solution and many different roms and radios, I tried formatting my SD card with the Panasonic sd card format utility, but no luck. Would getting a class 10 Kingston card be a smart idea? Or maybe I need to buy a slower Transflash card? I have a 4GB Class 6 from SanDisk but the same error occurs. Do I and the other people have defective phones, or is this an issue that can be solved? What should I do?

I've never had a problem with SD Card. Now I bought a 16GB Kingston Class 10. I have no problem with the card, work properly.
Getting a class 10.
Tell ya what, I will get the class 10 cuz more space is always good, I will let everyone know if it has solved the problem. Before I do this, I am just going to buy an el-cheapo class nothing sd card and see if the same problem occurs and then I will have tested the range so to speak. I will report anything interesting.

Do you format FAT or FAT32?
To FAT or not to FAT
Well.. I am actually FAT76KGz.... but ehhehe.. OH the sdcard I Am so funny!
The sd card is fat 32. HMMM.. Maybe I should try fat 16.... ?

Noob here. Device is 16GB NT, rooted 1.4.1, using Albert's SD card. Works like a charm, but various apps show that they are not compatible with the NT. I would like to try the external CM7, and flash it to internal after I try it out.
I have tried several SD cards, (8GB Sandisk Class 4, 32GB Sandisk Class 4, 8GB Transcend Class 4) and two ways of imaging the CM7 file (using Winimager32 with the SD in an SD/MMC reader/writer on my laptop, using Winimager32 with the SD card in the NT). After imaging the SD, I have attempted to boot without expanding Partition 4, also with expanding Partition 4 using Gparted, and expanding Partition 4 using EASEUS Partition Master and Mini-tool Partition Wizard. I have gone back to a clean SD by using Windows to reformat the card, and by using the NT to erase and reformat.
I think that I must be missing a simple step in the process, but after searching XDA, Tabletroms, and Google, I am unable to come up with a solution.
Questions that I have are:
- Is it necessary to clear the dalvik cache when using the SD card? (I don't think so, since all boot and setup activity seems like it does not include the internal boot/system files)
- I came across a thread that says that a "cache" folder should be added to the root of the "data" partition. Is this a required step?
- Do the second and third partitions require the "system" and "data" labels?
- I set the attributes of Partition 1 to Active (LBA). Do I also need to set a boot attribute?
I apologize for the long-winded post, but I appreciate any pointers that you can provide. BTW, the efforts of all those who have taken the lead to improve the NT are first class, and the help provided by members of the XDA community here are impressive, to say the least.
-
If you mean you're not able to boot up at all, try plugging your NT in then turn it on. Some people's NTs will only boot when attached to the cable.
Re: Android Won't Skate
Thanks for the quick response. I left out a few items in the original post.
I have to tether my NT to the plugged-in charger to get it to boot with the SD card installed. I get the Team B splash screen for about 15 seconds, then it goes to a black, backlit screen. I have waited as long as 20 minutes, but nothing happens. I have also popped out the SD card, and reinserted it, as have others in this forum, but to no avail. When I power on untethered, I just go to the normal NT boot.
If I boot up normally, insert the card and use ES File Explorer, I can see four folders, plus the boot.img, flashing_boot.img, MLO, and u-boot.bin. Also, when I use GParted, I can see the four partitions, and when I use ext2explore, I can see many files in both of the Linux partitions.
Hope this adds a little more clarity to the original post.
Thx.
You shouldn't have to make any changes to the SD card after you write the image to it. Just put the card in and power on.
it 'sounds' like its your sd card. did you try it with just the one ? imho, because the card is choking... go get a 4 gb class 2 and try again.
1) sdformatter, fat32, not quick...
2) then use 'Win32DiskImager.exe' . . .
Android now skates
I finally got CM7 to run from the SD card(Sandisk 32GB Class 4). Used another PC to image the SD card. Worked on the first attempt.
Hope this helps others who have had this problem.
the main thing that those of us who came from nook colors will know is dont use laptop sd card readers.. prolly half the posts i seen were due to using one of them. the best SD card readers are the PC ones and using a proper image writer.
as far as the app issue.. if its like the nook color you can always edit your build.prop to make it show as another device on google play
I seem to be having somewhat of the same problem.
I got an 8 GB (4) and burned the CM7 image to it using win32diskmanager, then used easeus to partition my drive. Put it in my nook, perfect, everything works.
A few days later I got my 32GB (4) card in the mail and did the same thing. Put it in my nook, and it wouldn't boot. I can see the TEAM B+ splash screen but nothing else, screen turns black afterwards and nook reboots to nook stock.
I don't know why it does this, could be sd card problem.
Im I missing something? do I have to do anything special if im using another sd card on the same nook?

If it worked perfect the first time, it has to be an SD problem or a burning problem. I'd try rewriting the image to that SD card.

So I reformatted the 32GB card using SDformatter (lost 2GB in the process) and burned the image one more time.
Same thing happened. Nook keeps booting back into stock (after team b's splash screen). I re-insert my 8GB SD card and it works perfectly.
Must be the SD card unless someone knows what else is happening... I guess thats what you get when you shop for SD cards on ebay.

You might want to try booting up with the power cable in. Some of these SD cards and NTs just like to be difficult, but it's worth a shot anyway.

Very peculiar things are happening.
I had put my 32GB SD card away until I read your last post, thinking I might try to reboot from card with he power cord like you suggested to see what happens. So I put my card in and it loads to stock nook. No CM7 splash screen like before. I reset the device and tried again, nothing.
I think the card might be bricked now. I checked to see why this was happening and now my devices won't see the SD card. The nook asks me if I want to reformat the card, but it crashes if I choose to do so, and windows won't see the drive the card is on so i'm not able to format or play or see the partitions.
Edit: Wow. Ignore that. As soon as I posted this my device finally reformatted the card. Will try again now.
Download and install:

As long as the SD card mounts, you should be able to get your card back to normal by deleting all the partitions then creating just one, formatted as FAT32.

Re-burned the image. Nook will not start at all now with the card in there. I played with the power cord and left it there for 2 minutes and it powered up, however, no splash screen or anything, boots to stock NT.
I turn the NT back off, same thing, won't power ON. I wait two minutes with power cord on and it powers on then.
Bad SD card?
Card has:
.android_secure
Android
B&N Downloads
LOST.DIR
My files
boot (img)
flashing_boot (img)
MLO
u-boot.bin
When I had issues, I followed old fart's suggestion and reformatted my card with sdformatter first. then burned the image with Win32diskimager, both on another PC. When finished, I ended up with a 3.8GB image on the SD card. Nothing worked until I used the other machine. After I was sure that the card was going to work, I expanded the fourth partition to use the rest of the space on the card.
BTW, I had to use the USB cord, plugged into the charger to boot up. Worked on first try. Been happy ever since.

okay, you got me really curious. . . . what's the 'other' machine and what did it do right that the first attempt / machine did wrong. hmm ?

What do you mean by nothing worked until you used the 'other' machine?
Sorry for the confusion.
I made many unsuccessful attempts to make the sd card on a Sony laptop, using an sd card reader in one of its USB ports. It wasn't until I switched over to the "other" machine which is an old Compaq desktop, that I was able to get a good image on the sd card. The point is that I had to switch to different computer to create a good image. It seems like something on my laptop prevented me from making a workable image on the sdcard. Hope this helps.

It could be the read/write speeds. What I do is I use the nook as my card reader, since I dont have a card reader on my PC. However, I do have one of those USB card readers. The difference between them is that when using the nook, it writes at about 3-4mb/s while the usb card reader writes at about .5-1mb/s.
Hello there,
I just bought a 32GB Class 10 Samsung MicroSD card.
After inserting it, I made sure the phone sees it, and the computer sees it.
So I started transfering files to it...
Every time I try to transfer files to it, the cards sort of unmount, the computer stops seeing the External/Internal storage drivers info (0/0 KB and no files).
I realized I might be needing to format it, so I went to recovery and formatted the external card. Still no good...
If I don't try to transfer files, the internal sd card still works fine.
Am I formatting it wrong? or some other issue? Did I buy a faulty card?
Thanks!
P.S. Some info incase needed:
Using Galaxy S2 obviously, Resurrection Remix ICS 4.04
My PC is running XP SP3

If unsure about the quality of your SD card google for h2testw. It is a Windows test software you can use to test your SD card.
Tried formatting it... still no good.
And h2test tries to copy a file repeatedly and after some time it also gets stuck like I do manually...
I was running into the exact same issue as you with an SD card awhile back. Tried many, if not all of the suggestions listed here. Sometimes, the cards just die on you, especially at the most inopportune times...

Type format [letter_of_external_card]: /x
ex.
format E: /x
and wait.
Then format again (through Windows Explorer) with this settings:
FAT32
default allocation size
fast formatting checked
and share the results.

Failure of h2test is normally due to defective hardware.
For SD cards I do not really know but when it comes to USB sticks there are many around that are just cheap crap. You could for instance buy a 8GB stick that will happily accept 8GB of data but only store 4-6GB!. This is where h2test comes into play: it will not only write but also read and therefore check if the data written was really stored in the flash.

Class 10? That card might be just too fast for your hardware.
I'm using Sandisk 32GB Class 4 and never had any problems.
I have tried some Class 6 and Class 8 cards with very various results.
Only class 8 card I found correctly working in my device was Memorex, but it was only 4GB.
So I gave up on fast cards...
its fake or corrupt, did you buy the samsung off a retailer , you always test flash with h2testw before you use it, speed is not the issue,i got a class 10 32gb i had many 16,256,4gb fakes, only 3.7 gb usable droped down to 1kb write then windows couldnt read the storage so you reformat again.
Hi Friends,
I am using Karbonn A9 (Without Rooted) & micro SD Card - 4GB class 4. I can transfer the files fine b/w PC & Card using USB cable. But, now-a-days, the files copied to sd card doesn't appear after usb unplugged from PC.
Also, the files deleted from PC, appears on SD Card, when removed. Please help me.
Have you tried to format your sd card?
I have have never had problems with class 4 sd cards until recently. I have had to buy all class 10 sd card for all of my devices that I have upgraded to ICS/JB. I don't know why, but I started getting all sort of problems flashing, saving, FC's. It was really weird. I didn't realize that it was the sd card until I switched the sd card in my tablet (with was already a class 10) to my phone. With worked fine in my phone, then my tablet started acting crazy.
this happen because u already click fix permission.. don't ever choose fix permission in cwm.. u might getting fc..

Hi
My Xperia Z2 tablet stopped recognizing the SD card. It was perfect before turning it off. When I check "storage" under settings it says mount SD card. Nothing happens when I try to mount it. Is this an SD card issue or a tablet issue?
Thanks

My card is Samsung 64 GB Class 10, bought from ebay. I had a movie on the card which I was watching on the tablet last night. This morning however, the tablet did nor recognise the card. All it says under "storage" is mount card, and i tried mounting the card but nothing happens. The card was not formatted on a computer, but erased by the tablet before being used.
The reason I mentioned ebay is because, according to google, many cards on ebay are fake. I'm only hoping it's the card not the tablet.
Thanx
What File Manager are you using? This happened 2 times on my Xperia Z Ultra and 2 HC 10 32 GB cards were destroyed...but it happened only by using Total Commander, since that time I do not work with him anymore and everything is fine...

There are a lot of fake/faulty sd cards on eBay, try it in a different device.

My card is exactly the same (I think) Samsung miniSDXC 64GB. Bought from a normal retailer. Similar problem to yours (I think)
I have not been able to find a solution.
The SD worked fine for a couple months. I notice there is no click upont pressing the card in (as the Sony manual describes) but it seems to sit a fair way in. Sometimes when viewed in Settings the card is visible but never when the phone is plugged into a USB port of the computer. Mostly it shows instantaneously when you push it in and then dissappears as quickly and the request to mount a card shows.
On one of the few times it stayed visible (not with the USB cable in) it showed about 12GB used. It seems to have been coming on and off intermitently during use. Accordingly, some photographs end up going to it and then not being accessible and some, or most, just end up in the main phone memory. This is assumed as a number of photographs taken are not showing. I have sent them from the phone main memory via dropbox as the computer can access none on the phone at all...perhaps because I have pathed them to the SD.
Will get and try another SD card but one possibilty is that this may be a problem with the SD card housing in the telephone.
