Run the kitchen, select the Port ROM option. It will tell you exactly what to do.
But porting a WVGA-resolution ROM to a HVGA device is not going to work as easy as that. It's going to take you a long time to convert all the image files (and data) to use the proper resolution.
ok..
Acer A1: Liquid S100
HTC Hero: G2 Touch
Samsung i7500
HTC Droid Eris
all listed models haves HVGA and Specs near the HTC Legend but which is the best to start ???
You can limit your list even further because the kitchen only supports HTC devices.
But why would you want to port two inferior and outdated HTC devices to the Legend?
you right better mod the Legend Rom but...
i have Problem to install my created Legend Roms : fail at Line xx in system\bin\su...???
i only try to insert the Desire Camera app,Launcher and the Live Wallpaper apps but every try to install the Rom comes this stupid error... any solution for this ?
desire camera app is same as legend no need to change that, Launcher can be downloaded from market (Arctu) and live wallpapers are not supported by legend until some hacks are applied, simply adding the live wallpaper picker and livewallpapers wouldnt enable it. That fail at line seems to be with the update.zip just check if the size is not exceeding that of system, just tell the full line too
Since V2.9 no new ports from me because there are "official" versions from tytung:
http://sites.google.com/site/nexushd2android/nexushd2-gingerbread/releases
************************
previous version:
SD-port of the CLK-Build:
[28.June.2011][MAG/cLK] NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.8 [GRJ22/Android2.3.4][K: tytung_r10]
>>> Download-Link <<<
The version is almost unmodified.
Changes:
- SD-relevant adjustments
- added OI-Filemanager
This Build creates a 256MB data.img on the first start. If you want a larger phone storage, you can copy a bigger data.img in the android directory before the first start or replace the created 256MB file with a bigger one later (all previous data will be lost) or with the "update" (see below) edit the startup.txt to create another size.
older version:
NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.7
UPDATE
Bluetooth values in my last version were wrong, if you had BT-Problems replace the rootfs.img from the build with the one from the archive "rootfs_new.7z" - also the cpu scaling governor now will be interactive with the new rootfs (as tytung recomands) - thanks tytung for the solution of this problem.
I've downloaded to have a look.
Is it OK with this to rename the folder and change the rel_path in startup.txt?
Or will this cause problems?
Dear HaPeWe . Is this a SD Build ? and can u post more info on your post , like Changelog , What is working , what is not . And some screenshot perhaps

He states it is an SD build - a port of tytung's nand build
All details will be in the link provided.
I've renamed the folder to NexusHD and everything appears to be good. Even the boot.anim blends in well as I use an Energy Winmo ROM.
I will do some more thorough testing and report back soon.
Good work
Cheers
Really good work, so far everything looks good and pretty smooth.
Any chance of keeping the key lights on until you turn the screen off?
I've just installed some apps and realised that the data.img is only 256MB
Can this be increased in a future version please?

You have to convince tytung, because I don't want to create a sub-build. This should be an almost 1:1 SD-port of his original build, also in future versions.
Thanks, will probably try this one as the NAND seems very popular! Any particular reason for removing Maps ? I'd just like to know if I can install it on my own without errors.
Also, pros / cons over AmericanAndroid?

I'll be looking into that one very closely as ACan is my regular build
Great I'm currently on SuperRAM v1.5 no-sense and AmericanDroid was my #1 choice of upgrade

Congrat New Cooker for HD2
Testing now
edit:
good port!
overwrite this rootfs.img to boot via MAGLDR. http://www.mediafire.com/?enz2kbb2yo8so6k
note: tytung zimage cant boot if you have other android in nand, WP7 on nand is fine, dualboot with nand android should use ACA zimage.
The Best!!!
Thank you for your job ^_^ Very Great!
build beautiful compliments
bt does not work mates but does not connect
solutions
This Rom is Very perfect for booting from WIN 6.5, low battery consumption, working fast and stable for daily use, this is the best one we can found right now, I’m much appreciated.
HaPeWe, you are excellent work.
Many Thanks,
utf8?
Great build!
But fails to mount cifs utf8 shares. There is no nls_utf8.ko in the module directory. Is it compiled into the kernel? In tytung's NAND thread it says utf8 is supported though.
BT issue
Hi,
just testing this build right now. Have not finished. First feedback to BT:
Pairing BT just works if you switch from visible to non visible mode (or vice versa).
Reconnect of BT device also just works if you switch from visible to non visible mode (or vice versa). Quite Complicated ;-(
AVRCP..not working ;-(
Battery drain...20mAh with BT on // 7-10mAh without BT
Loving this build great job and even more appreciated as I can't have band builds as I have no USB lol.
Not had any probs yet been using for 12 hours
Sent from my HD2 using XDA App
This ROM is discontinued.
Hi,
I've tried to port Xperia X10 rom on Desire with AndroidKitchen, and installed it on my phone.
It boots, I can see the SE lockscreen.
What works :
-trackball
-notification LED
-power button
-power off menu (silent mode, airplane mode...)
What doesn't work :
touchscreen (due to lack of multitouch driver, I think)
WiFi (untested, should work with fixed radio)
Bluetooth (untested, should work with fixed radio)
SD Card
Fixed things :
Radio/baseband
After some time, there's a weird noise, and the device reboots.
Many things untested, as I can't unlock screen...
Could a talented dev take the project over, and make that rom working for the Desire please ?
Thanks !
Download link below
UPDATE 24/7 :
Fixed radio. SIM card is read now.
To fix radio :
-flash the latest radio via fastboot (radio.img inside zip) : 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23
- flash latest RIL via recovery (flashable zip) :
32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23_RIL
- Put this build.prop into /system (remove included one first) :
Fixed build.prop

OFCOURSE I would love to help you I make ROM for x10 but which exact ROM are u talking about
2.1 ???
Or some other there are some specific files to replace and u r gold
Some bin, lib and etc
Like akmd2 , bmgr , busybox , eeprom , compcache in bin
Like apns-conf.xml , vold.fstab , and a lot many
I only port desire to x10
Not x10 to desire
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
Well I would like to port X10 ROM onto Desire.
It should be the last release by SE, Android 2.1.
There's a lot of problems in that ROM, at least I can see something on screen, and navigate through menus with trackball (only when first config, was unable to unlock screen when it locked)
U will need to replace the files in system/lib/egl folder except the lib_Android.so
To get display to work perfectly
Then libril and libril-qc-1.so for gsm
Many other files
What do u like in that ROM ??;
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
I like its interface, Timescape and Mediascape...
Its quite small rom, but really beautiful one.
And also I want to start in ROM porting...
But I'm a newbie in there, and I need some help.
If you can help me, or giving me somewhere to start, it would be great !
thanks for the help you've already given...
Have u had a look at the xperia arc UI ??
I CAN GIVE u a link and flash it on a gingerbread ROM
And the UI might just work
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
Well, I only saw X10 interface, a friend of mine has one...
Yes, could you give me the link please ?

Could you give me some help about porting ROMs please ?
Where did you learned ?
Do you know some guides or tuts to start porting ?
Why are you even wanting that ****? I've been stock on the Mini Pro Version Stock rom for a loong time (Yes have been on our Un-Official 2.2 Rom) - But seriously, that is just crap.
X10 Mini Pro is not the same rom than X10.
X10 offers more features...
Fixed radio.
Now SIM Card is read.
My Atrix is SIM unlocked, rooted, bootloader unlocked and Gingerbread installed.
What to do now ? Just to use it as a smartphone only ?
Jocking. But suggestions appreciated.
- Is it really worth to try an other ROM ?
- Is there a possibility to connect a hard disk via USB port ?
- Is there a dual boot possibility to boot additional an other Linux operating system ?
- Is there any application to remote control my Atrix from my Linux (Ubuntu) laptop as a remote computer with desktop (homescreen etc.) of my Atrix ?
( Attention not talking about remot control of computer from the smartphone)
- How could a store (move) my
text massages (Gingerbread text messages)
emails (k9 mail)
videos (Gingerbread video camera)
fotos (camera zoom FX)
bookmarks, etc ... my profile of Firefox mobile
on my external SD card ?
Hi Folks ! My questions were not jocking, but probably too many of them.
So maybe one only:
Is it worth to try an other ROM when your phone is already unlocked and rooted with the original one ?
Until you've used cyanogenmod everything else is just.....lowbrow. Download the latest stable release of CM7 from the development forums. And you'll never go back to stock again.

Hi Phalanx7621 !
I have heard of cyanogenmod ROMs, but to my knowledge ( http://www.cyanogenmod.com/devices ) there isn't an official one for the Atrix up to now, where everything (fingerprint etc.) is running fine.
Anyway, as I never used a different ROM, I have quite some difficulties to understand what are the benefits for doing like this. For sure there are, otherwise nobody would do. Maybe the ones of you who changed the ROM could share some facts with us the still non changed ones.
Maybe I am wrong, but if I compare this action with my ThinkPads. Should be comparable, as the Atrix is a kind of mini laptop and even running with Linux (Android). Same on my ThinkPads, they are real laptops and running Linux as well (Ubuntu). - Sorry can not compare this with Windows.-
To update the Android version from V 2.2 Froyo to Gingerbread V 2.3 is like an update from Ubuntu 10.04 to 10.10. Usually some improvements, bug fixes and updates. Fine.
To change the ROM. Isn't like to change the distribution on the laptop ? For example to change from Ubuntu 10.04 to Linux Mint 11. Both are on the same basic. More or less the only difference is the look & feel. All applications are the same. And even Ubuntu you can make it look like Mint or vice versa. No really need to change the distribution.
Maybe this is the same with changing the ROM. The look & feel.
But what about
- boot time ? Really different with different ROM ?
- the speed ? Really different with different ROM ? But when ? To open Firefox for example ?
- the used RAM by the operation system ? Any differences ?

There is a quasi-official ROM. Actually, it IS Cyanogenmod 7.1.0 with some fixes to get it running on out Atrix. The fingerprint does not work because only Motorola ROMS have both the kernel drivers and the libraries to make it working. Fortunately, the Atrix Cyanogenmod team is working on this and eventually they will find a way to make it working.
In any case, I find that the stock rom and the stock radio still has the best battery life (in my case, still Froyo). Maybe not the best performances, but I am pretty sure about the battery life.
Update: CM7 Atrix team have the permissions to build their nightly releases on Cyanogenmod build server. I believe that they are getting fully recognized by Cyanogenmod. Therefore, I would say that they are pretty much official.
Hi all,*
i have a rooted Xperia Tablet S with kernel 2.6.39.4 and firmware version 4.0.3 6b.*I want to mount my Samba shares on the tablet with Cifsmanager. For that I need a cifs.ko module. My search on the Internet so far wasn't successful.
I found a module at this forum for the Tablet S but it doesn't work with xperia tablet S (Tablet crashes everytime).*
Does anyone have a functional module or can someone tell me how I can compile the module?

Hey, any progress on your question? I recently got the Xperia Tablet Z and the cifs.ko module is not included either. I need to mount a SMB share but found no solution so far
Bump.
I have a rather large music collection on my NAS. It would be nice to access it directly as a mounted share from my Xperia ZL..
