I searched for my Tablet original firmware and region, downloaded it and copied it to the external SD card. Then on AiO I choose "Regions changer" and then option 0, which restored my tablet to the original region. After that, I just had to shut it down, access recovery mode (VOL UP + POWER) and installed the firmware from the SD card.
Later on I found out it was a temporary solution: if I shutdown the tablet, it will go back to the previous state as a Tablet P. Then I have to re-flash the firmware. I'm currently looking for a solution to this new problem.

The Sony Tablet S has 2 system partitions so you have to flash both with Condi's tool to prevent the tablet entering the wrong rom.

I do not believe you will find a link for a pre-rooted copy of 4.0.3r5. Even if you did find one, it would not work for you. You must download the 4.0.3r5 file then pre-root and install it yourself by using Condi's ALLinONE tool. There is a lot more going on in the pre-root and install process than just flashing your tablet with a custom_update_signed.zip file.
Your other option is to do a normal update/install of 4.0.3r5 and then root it after it has been installed by using the method originally posted by WonderEkin.

What I mean was that you could ask in another thread.
As already mentioned, the best thing to do is update and then root (you can even change your build.prop and install US update. It's was my case, I'm from Portugal).
The pre-rooted file it's possible, because I've update (from honeycomb) my tablet like that. with condi tool I was not able to create the signed update file.
OP how did you root your UK Sony Tab S? I'm on 1a and have tried everything just no luck. Any ideas?

For starters R5 is only av for US atm. You will need root to change to US region then install OTA update or flash from zip. Might be best to wait for OTA update for your region.

Hi,
I was searching the Sony original firmwares for Tablet S (not experia tablet). After rooting my S, i just messed up something with Titanium Backup and the tablet is halted in reboot. i can go to the recovery boot, but there are only three alternatives there: continue boot, update from sdcard, reset to factory. i did a factory reset but it hangs on boot. do anyone have the Sony firmwares so i can update from SD?
thx

Here info.update.sony.net/ST002/nbx03_001/contents/0017/signed-nbx03_001-ota-120914044.zip is thhe US ROM. I need EU or IT model. Does anybody know the right link?
I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26882207. there is also italian IT ROM, but just for SGPT111IT/S and not for SGPT112IT/S. Can that one (SGPT111IT/S) compatible with mine (SGPT112IT/S) ?
thanks a lot

Yes. Your tablet's RAM size is irrelevant to the ROM.

DO NOT make factory reset/wipe !!!
Have you applied "rescue-backdoor" ?
Had the same problem, if you do factory reset it will work only once (in my case setup wizard was hanging and launcher did not work properly so I could only view setting), after another turn off/turn on it will still hangs on Sony animation

I found out how to root the Xperia Tablet S with the newest 4.1.1 Jellybean update! You just need to use the motochopper exploit , which can be downloaded here. Obviously, you need to extract all ZIPs to folders before running them. Be careful with root; the Xperia Tablet S doesn't have a custom recovery image you can install and flash a backup/fresh system from. (Note: I missed the older thread with this same exploit, but I'll keep my thread up since it has more detailed instructions. This exploit also apparently works with earlier updates, but I haven't tested this myself.)
Instructions:
1.) Enable USB Debugging on the tablet (by going to Settings>Developer>USB Debugging; if they're hidden go to Settings>About and tap the build number 7 times to show developer options.)
2.) Install the drivers.
3.) Check if the tablet is seen by your computer by opening command prompt and using the "adb devices" command (Windows users may have to "cd" (change directory) to a folder containing the adb executable).
4.) Run the motochopper script (run.bat in the motochopper folder, or run.sh for your Linux users) and let it do its work! Your Xperia Tablet S with 4.1.1 should be rooted in under 60 seconds!
Message/reply for more help. Press thanks if this worked!
EDIT: A note from dex9mm:
after rooting use the A.I.O tool from condi
And install the recsuce backdoor tweak from sub menu 4
Option 1
And option 3
for the rescue from boot loop

Well I'm an idiot. I didn't check recent posts before reporting my " discovery". Very sorry about that. I'll leave my post up because my instructions seem to be a bit more detailed than the other post's, unless I missed something.
well if your keeping yours due to proper english and cleaner i would at least add that it works for prior releases. I can only confirm r6b but I am sure other users will chime in. I would also suggest adding AIO tweak settings(4) then 1,3,4.

I won this tablet a few weeks ago, just before the JB update. It's a good device, but I was dissapointed for the lack of unlocked bootloader (considering most of Sony's Xperia devices are fully supported by sony to be rooted)
I had given up the root too because I couldn't find any Linux versions of this exploit. Thanks for the guide, at least I can has root now
