Hi. I have a galaxy tab 10.1 wi fi 16 GB tablet. I just recently replaced battery, and lcd ribbon. Also, downloaded ICS and now using that wtih version 4.0.4. My problem is the pictures are not all 1200x800 resolution. Most are like shadowing of water scene, you can tell it is water, but very plain looking. the camera pics look the same, both before and after taking the picture. Samsung rep said it could be hardware problem, wants me to send it in for repair...I would like to try and fix it myself. Anyone have any idea what the hardware would be that is causing the problem? See the attached picture as to what the screen looks like. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've noticed the same here. No solution yet for me.
It's most likely your screen cable, check if it's damaged
Were you able to figure this issue out?
anyone find a fix ?

Hi all,
I'm looking at a Galaxy Tab 10.1 for a friend: everything seems to work fine except the screen is a bit stuffed. It really looks like the colour depth has been set to something ridiculously low, but I can't see anywhere to change this. See attached images of the stock wallpaper and the second test image posted by asolanki in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1603650.
I had to take pictures of these links: if I just did a screen shot and emailed the images then although the screen shot showed the banding / colour depth problem, the emailed images looked fine.
I've done a factory reset, but still the same. Could this be a hardware issue?
Model: GT-P7510
Version: 3.2
Kernel: 2.6.36.4 [email protected] #1
Build: HTJ85B.UEKMP.P7510UEKMP
Has anyone ever seen anything like this, or have any suggestions? If it's a software problem, could rooting the device and/or installing a custom ROM help in any way?
Thanks,
Barney

Rest assured that is an hardware issue, and a screenshot (taken with the software) won't show us the stains on the device's display you will have to take a photo of the display and post it, so people can compare it, your best bet is to put that tablet on warranty service :|
The same thing happened to my tab yesterday. I left the tab off during the night and when I fired it up this morning it was OK for about 5 minutes. After that the banding/colour depth display problem returned. It sure looks like a hardware problem. Not so good for me since i bought my tab in the US and the without the global waranty (I live in Europe).
SOLVED:
I removed the tab from its Belkin case and placed the tab in the fridge for 30 minutes. After that it looks as if the tab is OK again.
That's weird - I saw your post and wondered if it was overheating, so tried the fridge thing myself. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me, so looks like it's stuffed! Oh well - hope yours stays working - a bit tricky to have to sit in the fridge to use it!!!
Cheers,
I have rooted my I9100 GT model several times, this is for the first time facing the challenge after installing some fonts using root manager on 4.1.2 leaked stock rom.
I went to samsung service centre last day and they tried by changing LCD display without having any serious test. still the problem is there, I reverted back to my original screen. I tried many official/custom roms. Now my screen often goes all pink for a split second. Some times the screen looks fine sometimes like purple/pink ink spilled here and there..Even the authorised service centre guys don't know to resolve..:crying:
Any idea anyone faced this challege?? Please help me to solve this issue..plzzzzzzzz
Still no solutions, suggestions, replies
Look for LCD test code(ussd) then try all colors.
Send form Galaxy S2. But I don't have it :-\

A friend of mine had an similar problem with his SII.
a pink field began to grow in a corner of the screen and it went bigger and bigger until the whole Screen had very strange colors. He was very lucky because Samsung changed his display for free because of warranty.
It looked very similar to your photo...

Hm wierd because the display should new.
But sadly i dont have the reciept for the phone. Maybe i can just talk to samsung directly, and ask if its still supported by the warranty.
But thank you very much for your input!
i would still like to here if there is a quick fix or anything.
Hello,
it's about 2 months since I've had this problem with my camera. To be honest my phone falls alot but rly didn't ahve any problems with it so far. Until this problem occured. I had omega 44 when this suddenly appeard on my back camera. These vertical lines just appeared and when it's darer it's easier to notice them. My front camera works normally and I don't have any problems with it. I've thought about ordering new camera from the ebay but I just want to be sure that it's rly hardware problem. Now I'm on this new omega 8.1 version and this problem still persists.
Does anyone knows what is the most probable problem here? It would help me a lot in making my decision here.
Thanks

obviously the problem is with your camera hardware. get it replaced from service center.
Ok thanks. I think they'll charge me to much for that simple replacement. I want to change it by myself but I saw there are a lot of cameras on the ebay and I'm not sure which one to order. Don't know if there are different editions of cameras for s3, or some kind of regional key so if someone knows what should I look for I'd be grateful. Thank you
Sent from the outer space
try using camera apps like camera jb+ if the proble stills maybe it s the hardware
I've tried using many other softwares and the problem is still there. I'll be ordering new camera, it's jut that i'm not sure if there is some kind of regional lock or version of camera. Just don't want to give money for a wrong camera
Hey, I've read about 25 threads, none of which have helped solve my problem.
I wrecked a motorcycle with the phone in my back pocket. The crash killed the lens and the camera. Everything else works. I replaced the camera and lens with one from SW-BOX.com. The camera works now but wont focus. I assumed it was a firmware issue since everything else works. Due to a 'modified' status I wasn't able to upgrade my phone for about the last year. I finally got fed up with it and figured out how to side stepped that last night('official' status now). The phone is up-to-date now. However, the camera still wont focus.
The camera isn't in macro mode and all other camera features work fine. It simply wont focus. Even if I tap & hold the screen. Also the lens is oriented properly.
I've done a hard reset and a cache wipe. Most recently I was trying to figure out what my camera's firmware was, in hopes that (maybe) it could be updated to fix the issue. But every thread I've Googled has turned up this key code, *#34 blah blah blah that doesn't work on my phone. I assume that code only works on Verizon versions of the S3. I also tried searching the system/etc/firmware/ for rm***.bin files. I can't find any relevant *.bin files or file names starting with 'rm'.
Additionally I used an anti static bracelet to do the install. I didn't alter or damage anything in the phone during the installation. No cracked ribbon cables, scratched PCB's, short circuited terminals, altered soldier joints, loose wires, mal-fitting boards, everything is seated properly - - It was a clean install. I don't know WTH else it could be. It has to be software related.
So I'm lost here.
Questions:
1. How do I figure out my current camera firmware version?
2. Anyone have an suggestions on how to fix this?
Camera is faulty, return it to the seller.

Damn it, I was really hoping that wasn't the case... I've had it for to long to return it. I'll have to buy a new one if thats whats wrong.

I'm on metropcs, the 'model number' for the phone is labeled as "SCH-R530M" This information wasn't available when I bought mine previously. And I have no idea weather it is fully releveant or not in this case. Which is also why I was attempting to see what the firmware version for the camera was.
Anyone know how to do that on my phone? Or can give me a clue as to HOW I can figure it out on my own haha? Thanks for the help!
