if you have plan to flash rom or restore factory data on phone and want to keep your nfs mw current track, you just need copy saved game data and restore after install game, this' method:
your phone need rooted for access system files by es file explorer or root explorer app, then go to '/data/data' folder, copy "com.ea.games.nfs13_na" folder and 4 files: mNFS.db, mNFS.db-journal, mNFSStatus.db, mNFSStatus.db-journal (or simple make a search 'nfs' and copy all, i don't know exactly which files game need but that' all fine for me). done. after install new game, open and play the first race, exit then you just need copy back all files and folder.
p.s. btw, anyone know how to play without internet connection?! (game need internet connection for check update when it' start)
Another way is to do it with Titanium Backup.

With the newest updates of need for speed most wanted, it looks like ea has patched it so it wont work with any back up app and if you try it then the restore bricks the game and you have to download it all over again.

I can confirm this, I'm trying to restore from "Backup & restore" (a backup app from Sony) and Helium, both with the same result. I've contacted EA support, if I get a solution I'll post it here.

Hi,
Have you received any update to backup from EA support
None, as if they don't exist. I have already let go of this and deleted the backup (it was about 2 GB).
Finally found something that worked on another thread here in xdadevelopers
I know this is an old thread, but for anyone who wants the answer thought I'd post the link above.
Here is the jist and I take no credit, credit is due to the poster in the thread linked above
Installed NFS Most Wanted (Including the 600+ MB download) and play the first 2 compulsory rounds...
Run NFS Most Wanted and leave it running
Navigate to your Titanium Backup for com.ea.games.nfs13_na and open the .gz
Cut the file 'nfstr_save.sb' from /data/data/com.ea.games.nfs13_na/files/var/ and save in a different location...
While its running Paste the file 'nfstr_save.sb' back in /data/data/com.ea.games.nfs13_na/files/var/ on your phone
(the game would have already re-written another copy of the file by now which you must overwrite)
close the game and start back up and BAM your save is there
Been searching for HOURS for how to restore my NFS Most Wanted save on my new phone, this is one of the first google posts that come up so posting it here.

i accidentally or mistakenly uninstalled titanium back up cause i wanted to purchase the pro version. but now it downloads from market but wont install it.
i have tried rebooting and everythign but it will download but wont install it no matter what i try. by the way im scared to even flash the phone again cause i cant back nothing up.
anybody got any idea what i can do to fix this?
The pro version you paid for is just the key for the app. Titanium needs to be installed first if that's what your asking. Reinstall titanium then reinstall the key.
Don't blame me, blame my keyboard's autocorrection algorithm.

Did you do a nandroid backup? Only things you have downloaded since then wouldnt be there. It's also a good idea to copy everything from both sd cards to your computer once in a while. Kind of a fail safe idea

what is nandroid back up ? lolz is it from the clockwork recovery?
and how do u check if you have the pro version ? cause i bought it and both have been installed but how do i make sure or be able to check and confirm?
Go to market and open through the pro app. If you can do batch operations without clicking individual apps yours pro. Nandroid is a full system snapshot rom apps everything. You make one through rom manager app. If you mess anything up you can restore that. Make one when everything is working.

attached is a pic of what the market should look like if you have purchased the PRO-KEY(but still need to update) both should show as installed. If it says "purchased" then you are having market issues. Continue to try to download/install either way as stated b4 you need both.
Use some file manager ie: root explorer or astro.... locate sdcard/TitaniumBackup/backup..... (even if you uninstall TB i believe this file should still exist, i really dunno) if you have a file there it should be your last backup you made using TB and ur good to go! if not unfortunately ur gonna have to start from scratch.(unless you have a nandroid from a previous setup if so you'll have to restore that nandroid and then using the same file tree find the TB-backup file) personally i'd start over. Either way thats where TB stores your backups simply copy them from there to your PC to backup ur TB backups
Nandroids are stored in sdcard/clockworkmod/backup... Nandroids are created in recovery mode or using ROM MANAGER (i believe both are stored in the same place i dunno i really never use ROM manager other than to access recovery mode when certain roms dont have the power menu option sorry) Either way if you have a file there simply copy it from there to your PC as well BOOM! MEGA backup backups! (i secretly put my backups on other peoples PC's as well)

thanks bro i got it done. it was awesome. will do a nandroid back up everytime before i flash. just to make sure.
I have an HP touchpad with CM9 and a HTC One S running the latest Energry ROM. I want to know if there is a way I can, for example, play robo defense on my phone on the go and when I get home toss some files into my touchpad, continue my progress and vice versa. Basically updating app data from one device to another.

You could use titanium backup to backup the app data (from the device with the latest saved progress), send the file over to the next device (via Bluetooth, etc), place it in the Titanium backup folder on your SD, then restore the app data and continue from where you left off. For certain games which store their save files on the SD card (e.g. GTA III), simply copy and send the save file over to the next device and place it in the specified path.
Thanks for the prompt reply, I will give this a try and let you guys know if the titanium backup method is successful.
I tossed the app data back up files from the titanium back up folder on my touchpad into the same folder on my phone and restored the app data for wheres my water and robo defense, perfect results. Thank you very much
he everyone I have 2 quick questions
1) is everyone have problems making 3d movies where the video jumps even if the phone is sitting still (kinda like its trying to focus or something) but 2d videos are fine
is there a fix or is my phone bad?
2) is there an app backup program that will make a complete backup?
ok here is an example i got theis game blood&glory (kool game) and i want to have a complete backup after the data downloads .. i tried titanium back up here is my steps
i installed blood and glory and downloaded the data
make a backup with titanium backup
and copied all the files into a folder named test on the sd card
reflashed my phone (so i can start over for test)
reinstalled titanium backup
selected restore .tibkp from the test folder
then it had to redownload the blood and glory info all over
kinda pointless does anyone know a way to do this?
Hi ddropski
1. what ROM do you use?
2. take a look at this thread which may explain why such action is a bit pointless: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1767524
in titanium backup, if you wanted to add the downloaded data to the backu, go to settings/preferences, and select backup app external data. You also need to adjust max size of the external data - otherwise it may not include it to the backup.
Helped? Hit thanks.

I switch roms from time to time which requires a Wipe. Tired of downloading the Nova 3 1.7gb game data file. Is there a way to back it up so I don't have to install it every time I do a factory reset?
Thanks

Titanium backup may be able to do it. Or you could just find the directory and copy the files before you wipe. The process of copying the files back could probably be done with a CWM zip.
I second Titanium Backup. The paid version is also worth the $6. If you don't get the paid version, it takes ages to re-install all your apps, due to the fact that you have to install each one individually.
The pro version allows for batch installations as well as offers the ability to install in the original location (ie, install to sd).

Yeah I bought the pro version, well worth it. When I restore my games I still need to download the additional Data.

To simplify the process, copy the entire directory in a file manager and paste it to your sd card...then when you flash, copy and paste the directory back. Just gotta back it up before you flash anything.
I have this problem with fpse games but thankfully it backs up the data along with the app in titanium backup (curious it doesn't do this for your game too)
So this is what happened.
I backed up all my apps using Go Backup, so there's now about 500MB worth of files all waiting to be restored. The reason I did the backup was that I was to flash a new ROM, which I did.
However, upon reinstalling Go Backup, I found that it doesn't recognize my backed up files anymore compared to the previous days I used it. Researching about the issue I soon realized that the problem is encountered my numerous people, all of whom losing their files because of Go Backup's inability to recognize files from their last update.
I tried installing Pro and the previous versions, but it wasn't successful.
Yes, I can install the apk files one by one, but that would be quite a hassle whenever I'd flash a new ROM. Anyone can help us on this one?
Thank you so much.
EDIT: So I tried reinstalling each apk with their corresponding tar files. Turns out there are some that can't be installed, the games. Agent Dash and Subway Surfr apks, for instance, would give me the message: there was a problem parsing the package. I guess I need Go Backup after all.

I've faced this before and i lost a lot of data because of Go backup. I was forced to move to a much better alternative such as MyBackup Pro or if you're rooted then you can use Titanium Backup no backup application can beat Titanium!
Yeah, in the end I had to abandon my save files.
I'll make it a point to use TB from now on. Thanks.
You're welcome mate be careful next time!

Hey I think I found a fix for ya. I just went through the same thing. I flashed a ROM and boom! I can't update jack even though all my data was on my external sd card. Uber gay. But here's a quick step by step:
1. Download and load gobackup
2. Make a backup of anything at all. It can be 1k of stuff for all i care.
3. Go to gobackup and check the settings you should see the file path (or something similar to it) /storage/sdcard0/GObackup/Allbackup
4. In any event check the path (this/that/sdcard/blahblahblah...) and make sure you have that Allbackup at the end. That's why you did step 2 is to get that folder loaded.
5. However you'd like, I used root explorer to copy and paste it, or you can simply use the USB funtion, but find the gobackup file in your external sd, pick out your backup and place it in the Allbackup folder mentioned in steps 3 and 4. And voila! Open gobackup and it'll be there. I hope it works for you to.

didn't work for me either.
I can see it all mnt/emmc/gobackup/allbackup/newbackup
this is the path the app refers to at its base - but cannot restore from it
guys does not worket for me either im so mad right now!!!!
all of my contacts and sms and all other thing is gone
but i find my prev back up on dropbox
its working but its my old back up and i need my last back up
this app is bull ****!!!!!!
Same problem, but I won't give up without fight.
Anyway, I tried to change permissions, add exceptions in system files, format card - non of this helped. Still Go Backup is useless in every way. Here are some screenshots, maybe they will help someone solve this problem.
Hi. Finally fix that
after flashing new ROM, i made a new backup (from 1 sms, 1 contact and 1 call log that i make me).
then rename old backup to name of new backup, after delete the new backup in file manager. (Ex. "2013-09-12_16-30-18_sms.dat" to "2013-09-14_02-50-09_sms.dat"
and restore new backup in Go backup that contain old data!
Sorry for my bad Eng
thanks
