Root Kit for Galaxy Mega? - Samsung Galaxy Mega

Saw this article this morning and it talks about rooting the Mega 6.3 using a chain fire root kit. Anyone tried this and can confirm it works?

I don't think that this will work, simply because there is no .tar file included.

The article just includes download links for SuperSu and Odin.
As far as I know, our rootable kernel is currently the only working root solution.

I have messaged Chainfire with our recovery image for support, so hopefully it will be updated to support the i9205 which should bypass the samsung root detect method

I made THIS and I have root SuperSU 1.41. Works fine.

I'm planning to get an Allshare Cast Hub so I can do wireless screen mirroring but someone posted that it won't work if modified kernel is used. Maybe it's like the triangle on the start up screen of the Note when it's modified.

im rooted and screen mirroring works with my sammy bd-f6500 however audio vid out of sync and tbh mhl works so much better

Do you have to do anything to get the MHL video out working? My MHL cable isn't working, nothing happens when I connect it to my telly (power supply connected). It was a bit wonky with my Galaxy Note and now it seems like it doesn't work at all. USB OTG works, tried lots of devices but the MHL is not responding. I'll try ordering another MHL adapter to see if it's the cable.

I not tested yet on this device

Stock Rogers ICS odin rom?

Hello everyone.
I searched but couldn't find the stock Rogers ICS release. My phone is rooted and running on GB with all the bloatware removed using TB. I downloaded the software update like before but the phone rebooted after and instead of being on ICS, simply stated that the update had failed and to try another method. I'm thinking it might be because of CWM since when it rebooted, the phone went into CWM and not straight into the OS.
Does anyone have the software update as a download so that I can push it to my phone? I don't want to deal with any custom roms since none of them have worked 100% for me and especially due to tethering workaround, which I found troublesome as I tether a lot.
Thank you.

usb port broken
send to official samsung repair service
they wanted 48 € for flashing original rom and setting binary counter to zero
i said no
wanted to reset the binary counter but they still flashed the original rom -.-
so i couldnt root the device, reset the binary counter, refrlash original rom to send it to them
so i bought for 2,50 € at ebay a new usb port
went today to my univerity laboratory and tried to repair it by myself
i didnt heated the pads good enough so two pads teared out
the "new" port was overheated so i need a new one
i cant charge my battery now (i use a dock station by mumbi to charge one battery and i have two batteries)
i dont want to waste more time to repair those pads to buy a second new usb port and apply it too
life's pain
Why do you want to root ??
Any work done on the phone like fix USB port voids warranty anyway .

try 1.42 version use a qr scanner or download directly to phone. I was able to root with the argaron exploit.after rolling back to 4.12 from the 4.22 leak. before I was able to root with Frodo but that no longer works on my device. good luck.

*EDIT*
so... i want to flash cyanogenmod now. i think, i have to flash CWM recovery with mobile odin now. im sure, there are enough threads for this issue. thanks all! (thread can be closed)
and a last thing: warranty is void because of the pads are teared out.
on that pic the pads are behind that micro usb port: http://www.jann.cc/_images_big/rpi/Raspberry_Pi_side.jpeg
the port wasnt heated enough, so there was a mechanic stress, that the SMD Pads teared out. to repair that, it is very hard and our university laboratory dont have fine enough tools for that and we can build printed boards until 150 micrometers. im studying microsystems (or in english it is called maybe MEMS (micro electro-mechanic systems) engineer!?) i really can live with the method to use more than one batteries and to charge the one which is empty while the full one is in the smartphone.

It might be a no name tablet, but there are still plenty of details that someone would need before suggesting a rooting procedure that would work. There is no such thing as a completely universal solution. Ability to do so can be affected by the model, update, carrier, bootloader status, as well as some other things.

And which exploits did you use in Framaroot?
And last but not least for sure. Since your running Android 4.2.2 please see this tool, as it exploits the Master Key bug:
http://www.cydiaimpactor.com/
Looks like SRS Root might support it.
http://www.srsroot.com/supported
It doesn't have your build number listed, but since it supports ones before and after and all are 4.2.2, it's more likely they just haven't updated the page to include the particular update you are on.

There's a way to root every version of software they're released. Since the bootloader is unlocked, all that's needed is to flash a custom recovery, then when TWRP asks you if you want to root, just click yes, and you're done. It'll always be like this unless they lock the bootloader.

Why? Tmobile does even care.
No I know that, but Samsung AllShare Cast Dongle does care.. the dongle won't work on a rooted device. I had a Samsung galaxy note 10.1 that I rooted but I used triangle away to reset counter and it then would work. I use my tablet and dongle most nights and my other allshare in my car for my appradio. The S5 and Tab S will be first devices I didn't root
Any news on Knox?
Its been awhile since i rooted my phones and flashed roms. I juat rooted my s5. But i dont believe i installed a custom recovery. In the past i always downloaded rom manager and installed cwm through the app. But it says device not compatible. Or ud download goo manager and install twrp through that app and i dont see the version for my tmobile s5 listed. Can someone help me with flashing a custom recovery. And recommend any stable custom roms i should try out. Also if there is anything i need to be careful of when flashing i dont care about tripping my knox counter. My device isnt warrantied anyway.

No issues at all after using it. However, kingroot will install its own superuser app and I have not been able to replace it with supersu (It should be possible with a custom recovery).
Root works fine without supersu but you could try following these instructions after you root if you want to get rid of king root: http://www.yomitech.com/2015/02/how-to-replace-kinguser-with-supersu.html

I hope there's some development for this tablet.
Have had mine since release and I love it I own a Nexus7 2013 and it is as fast as that one , it so far has handled all the emulator games I have thrown at it like a champ I have loaded N64 games and some NDS games I got and has played them great. Also I love the fact I was able to add a 64GB micro in for extra storage well worth the 199.00$ price tag!
Got rooted with KingRoot and later replaced with SuperSu
See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61168022&postcount=30
Didn't try Xposed yet, but should work under SuperSu
Give exposed a try and let us know if it works. Thanks
I used King root and it worked just fine...until my son used it and did an update. Now it is bricked. Here's hoping that it becomes popular enough to have its own forum and someone creates a decent ROM for it.
For the price it has good (enough) resolution, color and speed.
Have you tried holding power and volume up for about 10 seconds to get into recovery and do wipe/reset?
I did. I can get into recovery, did wipe and restored factory but nothing. It looks like the files created by kingroot were not compatible with the update.
BTW sent a PM
