Emoji Samsung S4 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

How can I send and view emoji's? I know there are tons of keyboard that support it but I can't view them on Twitter or instagram. Such as with the Fourth of July people posted the American Flag emoji and it shows up on android as a bold "U". Does anyone have a work around ?

Best way I've found is to root and run either beans rom or hyperdrive rom

I like my plain google play rom. Anyway to port it over ? Also does this allow you to view color emojis on instagram or just input them?

Would there be any possible way to get the color emoji's ?

Not in 3rd party apps like Facebook or instagram. That I'm aware of.

I know apple has a .ttf for them but I don't know if it would work ?

Replacing stock smilies

Hey guys I was wondering if there was anyway to change the stock smilies. For example the stock smiley face is and I'd like to take away the stupid nose in all them if that's possible like this . Thanks in advance
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
There is probobly an easier method than what i am going to say but one way is to open up your system/app/systemui.apk and change out the smiley files. i believe they are in drawable-mdpi for most devices
I also would like to know how to do this, that method seems a little too complicated for me.

If I'm correct, UOT only lets you change the little icons, the pictures, what I'm looking for is to change the output of pressing the smiley face button, as in instead of outputting , I want

search mate..in the themes and app forum the are tons of tut about editing systemui and mms app
from the ARC
Okay thanks....I've Google it and the only thing that comes up is to turn on or off the animation. I'll look into it more

try just using GOSMS app if you dont want to play around with files.
Its better than the stock messaging app. And it replaces all the smilies with more normal ones. Its free too.
I think the smileys and the noses may be located in the keyboard itself? Because I modded the mms. Apk and changed them and it worked they show up right, but the keyboard still has the noses

If you want this use jellybeans rom and choose the aosp mms app when installing and you will have emoji support
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032447

I think its stock themed, its actually just an emoji keyboard and system fonts. Works out of the box on beans, and if I'm not mistaken this phone already has the necessary system fonts

Ya stock out of the box emojis don't work and when u add the font they are black and white. Bean had included the working emoji for the mms app and it works for sending and viewing from within the app. It's a setting that has to be enabled from within the mms app settings

Hey I am using an alternative. That's the AOSP stock emoji keyboard from android 4.2 that works with our roms! Just flash it and it should appear in your keyboards in setting
This is not a forum for making software requests..

Thank you but didn't work for me. Using elegancia 5.2 colored Rom and after flashing this file and rebooting there is no difference in my keyboard for emojis.

I figured it out now, yes it is working. But there are balck and white android style emojis. I was hoping for original emojis like on iPhone.
Example when using third party sms app chompsms it has the option for iPhone emojis sonic someone with and iPhone send them to u that u can view them as they were sent. Not changed over to receive in the form of these black and white alien looking faced emojis I guess that are android. Anyway to make this possible on stock sense sms app? Thanks

I know that its only black and white but I guess we will have to wait for an update! And if you use the ChompSMS emoji plugin that'll only work for that app. What I like with this is that I can be used in all other apps like instagram and twitter
This thread was posted in the "Themes and apps" forum in the "Sense 5 Theme" thread. Ghost, the op of that thread, kindly moved my thread over here. So really, not everyone here is a developer. So it doesn't matter if i throw in ideas to help make our phones better to use.
Just keep those useless thought to yourself please.

Android's Emoji is in black and white, so basically the keyboard's emoji will be in black and white as well. This is the closest to sense I could find, "Multiling Keyboard". It's pretty cool, check it out below..

See Thew Lock Screen

I'm using 4.2 and can't seem to enable wallpaper for home screen+ lockscreen together. Is this option available on 4.3? Also for those using 4.3, are the on-screen ringer/notification, expandable volume buttons included? I can't understand why they would remove these...
1. Set the homescreen wallpaper from the gallery
2. Set the lockscreen wallpaper from the personalization menu
??? I can't see the problem?

That would work with still images... If one runs a live wallpaper, you're forced to use a still image over the lock screen... There's little things that they have seemed to tweak, such as when using day dream / photo frame, the ability to choose individual photo folders, instead of every image in the device...
Oh, I have never seen a live lockscreen wallpaper. It's not a stock Android feature, but there might be something in the Play Store that allows you to do it.

Haven't seen that exact one. It looks like the font is comic strip that you could get with ROM Tool Box in the play store. For as themes you should try this thread

Thanks bbgreen that was a screen shot from the Rezrom 3.4 I was running I had the comic strip font installed. I tried some of those google keyboards which by the way are nice. None of them have the blue holo color I like just for the numbers in the keys. I'll see if I can put in a request to them and maybe they can mod it for me. Thanks for the find!!!
Thanks a lot bro
