Help shaping up Ubuntu Touch by joining the core apps development teams
Community-driven apps that will power the next million phones
The Ubuntu Core Apps project started as an initiative born out of the initial Ubuntu Touch announcement, with a call to our community to participate in building the core set of applications which will be considered for shipping on Ubuntu phones.
With this, we started an exciting project that provides a unique opportunity for community members to create Free Software that could run on millions of handsets.
If you’re running Ubuntu Touch on a device, you can already see the results of the work our amazing volunteer developers have been doing: Calculator, Clock, Calendar, Weather, Terminal, File Manager… these apps and more are part of this project. Together with the Canonical designers and other community designers, we’ve also got a solid UX and design story for our applications.
In essence, each core app development team organizes their work and time in the way that works best for them, where the Canonical Community, Design and Engineering teams participate in several different areas:
Development infrastructure
Engineering management
Community mentorship and support
Design guidance
With this post I’d like to share how any developer can contribute to core apps and join the core dev teams. It’s not only an opportunity to shape up Ubuntu Touch, but also to work in a truly open development environment, with the best Open Source developers and designers out there!
Participating in the core apps project
Getting started to contributing to core apps is just a few minutes away. Here are some really easy steps for developers to get all set up.

DESCRIPTION:
A while ago we decided to tackle an old classic called Achtung die Kurve. This game has received quite some cult fame as a multiplayer game under students to release some stress during study breaks, and that is exactly how the idea started to revive this classic. Our initial plan was to design an AI for this game so that it could be enjoyable to play on a mobile phone. The problem with other Achtung games out there is that the AI is very simple and easy to beat or even non existant.
To design this AI we could not use a standard predefined algorithm, but instead had to combine various methods to make the AI more intelligent and harder to beat. And what started off as a challenge for ourselves ended up better than expected so we decided to turn it into a full game. We have worked hard to make the algorithm as efficient as possible and push the boundaries of the devices to achieve great performance, yet keep the gameplay challenging and fun.
To top it off we gave it a nice chalkboard design and composed a catchy theme song.
The game is completely free, please check it out and let us know what you think! If you like the game, please rate or review it.

We hope you like it! We had fun making it and are currently planning a Windows 8 port as well.

Project:
Loop-Anime is a Anime Website directed to people that loves anime and watch multiple animes at same time. Usually, users have the tendency to lost themselves in the episodes of one or another of some show and its really difficulty to keep a track of whats have been seen and whats up to see.
There's when loop-animes comes in, loop-anime has a agile track system that helps users to mark animes they enjoy to watch or not and track their episodes along when they are seeing it. Therefore the user doesnt need to have a 3rd app to help him out watch the animes. Also the website has a video player builtin so the user can watch the episode and mark it as watched right away.
There are a lot more of personalisation’s and settings but lets stay by here.

"I can't buy this app"- message.
Please share here the depp-link of windows store as QR-Code. Otherwise it is hard to get correct language pack in installed. I would love to install it. It looks nice. What platform have you developed in?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, but hopefully someone has a good idea!
I have been using Touchdown for the past two years to check work emails on my phone. I recently upgraded to Android L, and lo and behold, Touchdown no longer works. Now I am on a quest to find a new app so that I can check my work emails. I have a few requirements / wants from the app:
[Required] Must support S/MIME. My company encrypts all internal emails.
[Required] Must support Android L.
Security policies should be specific to the app. I don't want work having any ownership over my entire phone.
The calendar and the contacts should be internal. I'd rather keep all the work stuff in the app
I found Nine, which looks really pretty, but it doesn't have S/MIME yet. They plan on adding it "soon". Does anyone have any suggestions for an app that works on Android L and support S/MIME?
bump
good question.
how is the situation? any solution?
Is there anything else that works with Lollipop? I have been having a hell of a time trying to find a working app. The only ones that I can get to complete authentication to my company's server is Nine and the official Outlook Web App Preview app.
BTW OP, try the Outlook app from Microsoft. It is possible that it will meet the requirements you are looking to set as minimum standards.
resume....
imho NiNE is THE-ONE!
it is all there: FULL EAS support (mail, contacts, calendar, tasks, notes) s/mime, multiple eas-accounts, app OR device policy-support :good:
also imho: by not supporting PGP or S/MIME by default, android really proves it's immaturity

Agreed! It really sucks that iOS has had S/MIME support for years in its built in mail client but not Android.
Then again, Apple does not rely on a business model which includes the need to spy on users messages.
With the release of EMUI 11, Multi-screen Collaboration has received a comprehensive upgrade, with many fascinating new features. Of these, the most exciting is perhaps the ability to open multiple windows on a single computer screen. This new future has been made possible by a further upgrade to the distributed capability, which is a feature of HUAWEI Mate 40 series devices running EMUI 11. It breaks down hardware boundaries between individual physical devices and creates new device forms using software. By imbuing technology with intelligence in this way, it provides a convenient smart life experience for users.

Multi-screen Collaboration now enables you to open up to three windows on the computer at the same time. Imagine that you're taking an online course. With Multi-Screen Collaboration, you can open three windows at the same time: one to view the course itself, one to make notes on Notepad, and one to chat to your classmates. It's no wonder that this feature has remained consistently popular since it was first released!
A super assistant for work
Multi-screen Collaboration really comes into its own when it's time to get some work done. You no longer need to keep switching between separate apps to perform different tasks. Instead, you can open three windows at the same time, and drag and drop files between them. Three windows means triple the efficiency!
Shopping has never been easier
In the past, shopping online meant endlessly switching between different apps to compare prices and reviews. It was exhausting to be confronted with all this information. Now though, thanks to Multi-screen Collaboration, you can now open several shopping apps on the computer at the same time, and compare information easily.
A more flexible video experience
If you get a call while you're watching a video, you generally need to exit the video, open WhatsApp, and reply to the message. This can be really annoying when you're in the middle of a video. Now, with Multi-screen Collaboration, you can watch videos and chat to your friends at the same time.
Try Multi-screen Collaboration now, and discover a smarter way to live and work.
