Hi guys. Just want to ask why is there no kernel yet that supports overclock for the International version of the Htc one x plus. I've been checking all of the kernel updates for this device for the past 7 months and there isn't any kernel yet that supports overclocking.... I mean the Htc one which came out a few months later than my device managed to be overclocked to 2.1Ghz. Is it because the device has some kind of lock that doesn't allow overclocking in the device ?

Why would you want to OC your phone? It is more than fast enough and it can get pretty hot on 1.7 GHz already.

As already said - nobody with a clear mind wants to OC this device
But it is of course possible. There is nothing preventing it

Even on the bloated stock ROM it used to run smooth
Why do people post questions such as these only to never respond when people post back?
This phone is a beast out of the box. Oc'ing it would only end the life span of the phone sooner than expected. Heck I keep it in power saving mode most of the time and while playing graphic intense games I notice next to no stutter.

It would be awesome to overclock it to 2.0ghz. Nice round number too
But you can overclock the GPU with Tegra overclock app (which i torrented) . Thats all i know so far with overclocking.
(Using elite kernel with Viperx+)
I'm sure it's possible but this is phone is already ridiculously hot and almost approaches painful to hold when you use it heavily. Just stick to the >1.7GHz
I'm sou sorry
I just want to know that I could oc the device, that doesn't I'm going to keep it in 2Ghz if I could oc it... its just nice to know that I could, like the HTC one..
I guess no one has developed a kernel yet to support OC...

thanks for support.
so it means rom with CPU will run fine???
for example????
The rom won't work. BECAUSE the desire z has another CPU. It will not work. It's as easy as that ;-)

Get in touch with one of the Rom Porters and see if they can get it running for the Hero. Bharat Goku is always on the lookout for something new to work on and I for one am particularly keen on his rom's.

I don't thinkIt's that easy. There is a reason there is a miui for the hero. It isn't compatible with our CPU

Yep. Instructions were written for ARM7 CPUs. Ours is an ARM6.

I don't think it will work either, they share different CPUs, so they are not capable with each other's Rom
Are any roms being updated? I notice even the sticky rom list is out of date!
Also many of the links are dead has any one got a copy of the "Stock ROOTED with Phone"
Thanks in advance
I see no one's helped u yet... Not surprised. We have all been here a while and are kind of jaded. I'd suggest u keep an eye on dexter and chaos-x roms if u want any support or help. As well as max droid if u don't mind gb.... As to roms getting updated. It's slower on an EOF device. Know that. If u can't find what u need here. U can always make it yourself. The beauty of it all....

Thanks for the reply, I had an EVO back when they were first out and bought the Flyer to test as a phone just a shame that some of the links are dead.
Any recommendations for best rom with phone (voice call) support. that can still be downloaded?

I would suggest you try Coolexe's 3D V6 which uses the Leedroid HC tweaks and added lots of other tweaking bit in there. Allows cpu to be overclocked and unclocked (with Antutu cpu) and all features in the Flyer works. That was the best HC rom I ever used. Close to perfection but battery life was not good, hence the need to unclock the CPU to 1.3Ghz or 1.2Ghz to last longer depending on how much you want to live on batteries.
ICS and JB roms are not great for GSM but generally feature deficient to a certain extend. ie Trade-offs like flaky BT and flaky wifi and some stability issues here and there.
NexusFlyer Rom (here) was recently updated to 1.3. It's the latest (albeit still somewhat flakey) version of 4.1.2 (it mistakenly says 4.1.1) that is out there right now. I like it more now that BT is working, but still has a way to go.
I suppose I should get cracking and learn how to be a dev
Poo poo on HTC for killing such a nice device!

If you really want to have everything working (GSM calls, GSM call with BT headset, proper stylus support, full cameras support, ...) go with Gingerbread ROMs like Max128's. Otherwise, live on the edge and try any of the newer alternatives: One XXL, Dexter's JB, NexusFlyer, ... I just don't advise you try Leedroid's or Coolexe's as bootloop galore is quite likely to happen.
I have been using leedroid and cool 3d no bootloops very stable.
Volume control and screen time out are giving me issues but I think its just configuration

Ditto, Cool 3D very workable, and I'm not wanting to go beyond Honeycomb unless desparate, due to lack of camera and h/w acceleration.

The 10 second screen timeout has forced me to look at some other roms could not get the UCS HD to fix the issue
I am still searching for the best rom and even started trying to learn how to make/modify one myself!!!
Any ideas for a Phone Rom to use as base would be appreciated or any other ideas.
This Device does not need to be EOL for us all!
I have cooked my first few roms and hoping to fix some issues,
bluetooth voice calls [works on stock rom (for some Max128 rom)]
speaker/mic toggle.
any advise would be appreciated
leedroid is great

I switch between GB and HC no problems with bootloops.
GB needs mic/speaker toggled during calls.
HC bluetooth does not work on calls.
Not sure which is biggest issue!

Hey guys. If you check out SebastianaFM's work, you'll be impressed. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349756
He ported a whole ROM and kernel to an unsupported device. A few years ago, he ported Sense 3.0 to HTC Magic which is pretty old. I'm thinking we can buy him a Flyer and he can start developing for it. He's a very capable developer and it'll save us from buying new devices. So far, the only thing that has irritated me about the flyer that HTC withdrew support. What do you all think?

Just a quick question. The HOX+ is supposed to have the TEGRA 3. How come in the CM 10.1 it is detected as an ARMv7?

armv7 is not a real CPU but the reference design
and actually what you see here is not detected but compiled in the rom

Or which rom has the best smooth/speed/fps in games?

Why this question mate, i am very satisfied with the performance of the phone, i come from Sony Xperia Sola and trust me - you dont know what is bad performance and lag...
Im asking, because Im pretty sure that each rom has a different performance. For example, ROM with lots of stuff has lower performance for sure.
I did benchmark, now i have mysensedx jb with full sense and I get less score than when I had nonsense revolution.
So, can someone tell me, on what ROM u have expirienced the best performance ?
You should better wait for CyanogenMod 10.1, which will be ported to Desire X after we get our 3.4 Kernel. After that, I will think about rooting my phone and use it.

Nice
Who knows ?
Let's wait until Google releases it to AOSP.... Hopefully some one will make at least a booting build for us.. HOPEFULLY
Also I am curious how the phone will perform with all these animations everywhere... HOPEFULLY -again- it performs well...
I am almost certain that Android Lollipop will arrive for our S II. Its such a great device and not outdated by any means ( Mali-400MP4 GPU - quad core gpu-think about it), but the concern may be the updated drivers, if i am correct. BUT the latest Android One smartphones also have a similar GPU (Mali-400), but i wonder if its the same, and hopefully the drivers can be backported to S II.
We're waitin' 4 ya, Lollipop!
