I am running GS4 Premium Rom and there is no toggle in the messaging app to keep the screen off when getting a message notification. Is there any way to fix this using SQL Editor or flashing something that will give me the option so the screen doesn't light up when I get a notification? The LED light and vibrate are enough to alert me, I don't need the screen to light up.
I don't have any useful ideas to fix this now, but one thing you could do is suggest this option be added in the ROM.

I think we've agreed that the screen is the biggest battery draw on this phone.
I am on the stock ROM, and my screen lights up whenever anything happens on the phone. Any notifications light the screen up. Email/text/etc screen comes on to display the notification in addition to the sound.
Is there a way to keep the sound, and notification in the status bar, but keep the screen from lighting up?
I get a ton of emails M-F not to mention text messages and I don't need the screen firing up every time I get one. Hearing it is good, but I'm sure I'd save battery with the screen forced to stay off. Incremental savings? Maybe. But every little bit, right?
SMS Popup
I just discovered this when I flashed Unofficial. It has settings to disable the screen coming on when a text message arrives - at least it's a start, particularly if you get a lot of texts.

Is that setting not in the stock ROM?
How do you get to it in yours?
Is there a way to reset the LED Light Notifications, because I stop using Lightflow (with all its issues regarding Accessibility Enabled)?
OR
An alternative app to control the lights?
Try Blink, it seems to be okay, there's alot of colour options. I've not tried Lightflow though so I'm not sure if there'll be any features that are different. Doesn't appear to be a battery drainer either
I found that some apps interrupt my S3 notification light, for example Go Launcher EX. After I installed this, the LED notification light doesn't work, it doesn't blink when I was charging and for incoming message. However, it did blink when I charging with my phone off. After uninstalled, LED notification works fine again. But today after I installed easy touch, it doesn't blink again What actually causing this? Did you guys having this trouble?
How about this app

Hey guys, I finally got my LED light to start working after disabling the DOWNLOADED APP selection. So now the LED for my text messages blinks every few seconds which is really slow. I took your guys advice and download Light Flow but i can't get it to work and same with light manager. I tried disabling the notification led option under display and then turned it on with all the options unchecked and still light flow or light manager wont blink the color of my sms texts. Seems like both application (only one was installed at a time) doesnt seem to work or is there something im doing wrong? i even rebooted my device
I'm using lightflow and under notification light settings, I have everything checked, including downloaded apps. So I think that part has to be checked.
I''m also having issues with the G3 notification LED in general, as well as Light Manager. Without light manager installed, I sometimes get the LED notification for twitter and sometimes I don't. When I do, it blinks at a 3 second interval. I do get the LED for Gmail, but it blinks in about 10 second intervals. Other downloaded apps, I don't get LED at all. So there's that issue. Wondering if I should take back the device altogether....
With Light Manger installed, things get a little better, but just wondering what I need to have the phone's LED/Notificaiton settings set at with the Light Mgr app installed as it seems to be conflicting with the light mgr app? For example, Gmail doesn't blink at the rate I have it set at in the app nor is it the color I designate. In fact, Gmail acts as if the Light Mgr app isn't even there and blinks as per the LG default (I''ve added Gmail as an app and tied it to my account as well within the app). Very odd.

it might solve your problem
I have looked up down left and right and I have come to the conclusion that it might not be possible. But when we turn our phone on or off, the notification flashes blue then green before it flashes off. I was curious if anyone knows if it possible to apply that to notifications such as messages and what not. I have tried every light control app I could find and both I could find for xposed. Thanks for any help or info!
