do an advanced restart and remove driver signature... search on google how to remove the driver signature on windows 8.. if you successfully get it done..!! you will get it working

I also using window 8 and the fasboot works perfectly ! I just follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095087 . After reboot your pc . Go to your flashtool installation folder , there should be driver installer . Select your devices , reboot . Should works.. !

I have the same problem and still device not recognized after disabling driver signature
It's sad, but we must wait for official release of windows 8.1 and hope for fix.
(in 8.1 changed usb policy and we have that we have - bugs).
I'm on 8.1 and same problem.
I was not make test when I was on 8.0, it that work on this version? if yes, it's just a driver problem and not really a Windows problem...

Windows 8.1 Preview: What's new for USB
Tryed on both notebooks with 8.1 - problem.
After downgrading 8.1 to 8.0 - problem gone.

Delete your device and USB-HUB with your device in Device manager.
Afer refresh - windows install normal driver.
Apparently something was changed in 8.1, making the current method useless.
For now, nothing can be done, you will just have to wait until a new solution is made or move back to Windows 8 or any previous OS.
I uninstall the usb hub driver and other driver but after that it automatically install flash mode driver even it is connected in fastboot mode. i dont know what happens it only shows as connected in flash mode.
Help anyone.

Yes! but when connected in fastboot mode pc recognizes it as semc flash device. Is this it what it should be?

I had a problem installing drivers too when wanted to unlock bootloader.
Somehow it was my computer , so i installed sdk manager and java sdk, and the drivers on my other computer HP mini 2140, all successfully. And this is not the first time i had to install drivers on another computer.
So try that first
Also, stop windows automatically installing, go to device manager and try from there (update driver)
Hope it work out for you.

Yes! every time i tried the manual installation! even formated my pc and start the procedure all over again but didnt work. maybe its bcoz my pc is too old (bought in 2004) will try on other pc.

Firstly Android USB drivers then xperia drivers then arc and so many of these but PC can't install it.
P.S. I was able to install semc flash drivers but not adb interface driver.

I have problems with Flashtool version 0.9.13.0 (Latest) , so i tried to plug my phone with Fastboot mode / Flashboot mode and Windows says : "USB Device not recognized"
NOTE: I am using Windows 8.1
I tried going into advanced boot mode and i disabled that driver thing , installed drivers,still nope.
I tried front USB ports and rear USB ports (2.0 USB PORTS)
Still Windows don't recognize phone.
I Bricked phone and now i am frustrated that i cannot access flashtool and flash kernel. (I KNOW HOW TO UNBRICK IT)
Can anyone help , before flashtool worked like charm,and now i don't know why it won't work.

Hi, I'm trying to unlock my bootloader and its not working. I'm getting the waiting for device. I'm in fastboot inside HBOOT and it even says Fastboot USB. I am running Windows 8 and have installed all the drivers and it works fine when the phones on but when I go to HBOOT the drivers dont work. It says that windows doesnt recognize the usb, in device manager it shows it and says Device Failed Enumeration. Ive searched the internet for around 3 hours and it seems to be drivers. Any help would be great. Thanks!

That's the only time I have seen a problem with your PC not recognizing your phone while in bootloader is when the person was running Win 8.1

When you connect your phone to the PC, can you choose file transfer mode, on the phone? If you can, what happens when you choose "Trasnfer files (MTP)" ?

Yes i can. Thats the problem Nothing happend. I try this on 2 PCs and still the same. I restore difficulty settings on phone and then on second pc was OK it connect on Mtp mode but on my pc it still dont working. I think that my pc miss something but i dont know what :/ For any help i will be gratefull ^^

Did you check device manager (control panel) for the drivers? Maybe you need to install them manually. And if you are using Windows 10 "N" version, then you need to install media feature pack for windows 10, because without it, windows 10 won't recognize devices in MTP mode, here is the link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48231 . I had that problem when i installed Windows 10 N on a new laptop. Also, maybe, you will need to disable signature driver enforcement to insall the drivers. You can find all the information regarding the drivers on the internet. I'm leaving now, i won't be here until tommorow, so i can't help you more at this moment.

Well, it told you the actually the same. "Check the drivers in device manager". Anyway, you are welcome. Good that you found a way to fix you problem.
Hey,
I'm in the same situation. I checked my driver, it's well installed (MTP). I'm running on win 8.1.
Redmi is showing but there is nothing inside, no folder. My PC tells me "Device may be locked or not ready, check if the mobile is unlocked".
I only unlocked Dev privileges and USB unlock.
What am I missing?
