Hi,
Which rom good for my N7005?
Can it up to 4.2.2 and can use LTE?
many thanks
Any I717 Rom should work. As there are roms for the I717 built on N7005 firmware (novena being an example of such)
Just be sure to copy down your carriers apn settings to manually input after flashing.

Hello studacris, does flashing an i717 rom on an n7005 involve the same steps? (or is there an extra step to flash a modem)
Also, I am currently looking for ROMs to flash on my n7005, will any aosp, CM, or aocp for that matter fully work on it without a chance to brick the phone?
As for the OP, did you flash any ROMs yet? if so do you mind writing your feedback please, and what steps/roms did you flash.
Thanks guys.

Like the topic says, I have an AT&T note, but T Mobile service. I recently (last night) found the wonderful work by several XDA members of which they supply us with a flashable zip that contains a radio that will give T Mo 4G data speeds.
I forget which one I finally used (there's the SGH-T989 KID radio, VKL1 radio and one called blaze). There is also a build.prop file that completely rendered my device useless (requiring an OS re-install).
I also have a few ICS modems, again the "KID" or is it "K1D" Im not sure... that, the "Blaze" version and one from the carrier "Telus". I also saw a Rodgers version floating around somewhere. I think that was really for the Galaxy S2 but it works with our Note
Anyway I am really missing ICS, I have 2.3.6 now. I need to know what is a good modem radio to flash if Im going ICS. Also whats a good ICS rom (keeping in mind the flashing of the T Mo radio)...
thanks
Roms and modems are interchangeable, meaning you can use whichever modem you want, on whichever Rom you want.
The blaze modem is what you want to use for t-mobile
Also the apn settings for t-mobile would probably be beneficial

So it doesn't matter if the Rom is gingerbread based but the modem is from an ICS build? And Vise/Versa...?
Nope
Hi,
I have my GS3 rooted, and its currently running a Custom ROM (FoxHound 0.7). What I want to do is move away from this and head back to the official Samsung stock ROM for extra stability.
I wasn't sure on:
a) Where to get the latest Jelly Bean releases for the UK i9300
b) How to go about flashing an official Stock ROM... Is it the same as flashing a Custom ROM, like through CWM??
c) Whether I will still be able to update OTA when new official update releases come out from Samsung?
Sorry for the questions but I've searched through a few threads and I can't seem to gather a definitive answer.
TIA

Can i know why did u root your GS3 in the first place if you planning to run stock rom.
Maybe try some custom roms which might gives you more benefit than stock rom.
Anyhow, if you still want to install stock rom, try finding it here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/
Thanks. I'm downloading that now.
I rooted to try out different custom ROMS and also so that I could do things like hook up my PS3 control pad via Bluetooth but I've found the Custom ROMS I've tried (Foxhound, CM10, Omega, Paranoid Android, Resurrection Remix) all to be a bit flakey in different areas
This is the reason I want to go back to a Samsung Stock ROM, at least then I'll be on a completely stable platform and can still customise with a different launcher.
So do I flash this Samsung firmware in the normal way I would flash a Custom ROM?? Through ClockWorkMod recovery?? And will the official OTA updates still be available?

I found the easiest method to flash a stock ROM is MobildOdin till now as you directly can inject root (super user) and do not have to root later on again. Otherwise download your rom, and flash via Odin, after that flash again CF Root to get root.

U cant flash the firmware but u need to install it.
After that, you can receive ota updates as usual...
OK thanks guys. I'm not too fussed about Root again right away, so I presume I'm heading into ODIN to flash the official Samsung Firmware then?
I've downloaded the latest JB Leak for the International variant (i9300), however I've just been reading that you can flash/install the OFFICIAL POLAND JB FIRMWARE to the phone and just change the language settings? Don't suppose you know how true this is do you?

Don't get the leak, get the officially released version DLIB. The languages are built in and you can CSC change if you so wish.
Can I ask what CSC Change is?!
Also, presumably I'm just installing through ODIN?

What I meant was... "What is CSC"
Is it some kind of Kernel/Radio??
CSC some specific settings in your country for network I think. You can change CSC for your country by this app but remember your device will be wiped.

yes, as said beforehand, CSC includes region specific settings whereas you can run the rom also without CSC (did this with CSC unknown for quite some time, to not get CSC unknown just flash the rom twice, to change the CSC you can use an app from the market designed to change CSCs easily).
Kernel/Radio is not included in the CSC, here you can flash, if you wish, any kernel suitable to your region of that gives you best reception.
Thanks all, looks like I'm up and running again with Stock.
Only thing in my SETTINGS then ABOUT PHONE then STATUS, my device status just says 'scanning'

Hey friends.. So here's the quick scenerio.. My wife's phone currently has the AOKP JB 4.1.1 Rom (Baseband I9100XXLPH)
It's giving her alot of grief in terms of All google apps and other installed apps (Instagram, photobucket, Root Explorer, etc) are constant FC on her.
I've backed up all her photos and info and she now just wants me to go back to the stock I9100 Rom.
Located in Canada and on the FIDO network if that matters. She doesn't want a TouchWiz rom, if possible, just Standard Android.
Is this possible? and if so can I get the location of any files required? Rom, Gapps, etc.
The install procedure.. (I'm familiar with the Clockwork Mod rom install (it's how I got JB on there) but have never gone backwards. I have used Odin in the past if that is the way to go. Just want to make sure I do it correctly and if there's anything I'm missing? Kernal? Modem?
Thanks.

Stock I9100 rom is touchwiz. If you want to install a stock rom,you can download the ROM from www.sammobile.com for your phone/carrier/country and flash via Odin.
If by Standard android you mean AOSP,download one of the cm10 nightleys and flash in CWM recovery.

Thanks for the reply Vish.. But it still confuses me.
I'm going to put the Original TouchWiz and flash via ODIN. However, would I still need to obtain an older Gapps? or would I just flash the Touchwiz Rom and it will include everything? And will going back to the original Gingerbread Touchwiz ROM from the current AOKP Jellybean ROM cause any issues?

Also when I go to Sanmobile and attempt to find my Stock Rom, There are no Roms for Canada or USA.
I get to
Phone > Android > GT-I9100 Galaxy S II > Country.. But for Country there are no choices that match my location.. Seems like every country is listed there except Canada or USA. (I'm in Canada on the Fido/Rogers network)

I have the straighttalk variant of the Galaxy S2..and my god.. Straighttalk has this device screwed up!!! You dont receive any OTA's which really suck because im stuck on GB... I have a custom recovery and i am rooted.. I have flashed numerous roms for I777 which is compatible with the 959g but i always feel a slight lag on every rom (except AOKP but i dont really like AOSP themed roms) so i usually go back to stock.. Is there any kernal out there that i could install on stock, so i could overclock my phone, or if you have a 959g, can anyone recommend a great ROM?
Thanks!

Resident 959g guru mr-cook has 2 threads that any 959g user MUST check out.
1) COOKED is a great ROM that will work very nicely on your 959g.
2) Straight Talk SGS2- SGH-S959G has a TON of useful information about the 959g.

Hello everyone,
It has been more than one year that I've been using Samsung-based custom ROMs on my S3, but now when I want to use an AOSP ROM, I can't make calls with them!
I've tried Cyanogenmod 10.2 (latest weekly) and SlimBean 4.3 (latest stable) and when I try calling someone, the call ends immediately. If I try opening the phone app -> settings -> Additional settings, I get a "Call settings error: Network or SIM card error". This does not happen when I use the stock ROM or a Samsung-based ROM (like Wanamlite or Omega, which I've used the most).
What should I do? I'd appreciate any help!

Seemed like a good idea - I tried flashing 3 different versions (via Odin) and none of them made the calls work
Maybe I'm just using the wrong ones?
Can anyone link me the latest modems available for the international S3 that works with the 4.3.x android versions and the new EFS partition formats? I'd appreciate it so much, as I can't find anything past 4.1.2 versions :good:

That's EXACTLY the problem! Those modems from 4.0.4 or 4.1.2 samsung-based ROMs won't work on the 4.3.x builds from CM or SlimBean and I can't find any that works

I did - I tried three versions (old, new and random one) and none worked
Also, I've checked this modem+RIL thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2076857
And it says "Official CM10.1 uses open source RILs so these Samsung RILs won't be compatible". Well, I guess I'll try flashing CM 10.1 instead of 10.2 to see if it works, but the point is... It seems that if I go from a samsung-based ROM to an AOSP one it will fail unless I find a working modem or an AOSP ROM that includes the damn modem
