i faced this problem when i was on stock..
so i decided to move to custom rom..i did not loose imei on custom rom..
so i suggest u should leave stock rom and move tp custom rom then flash kernel of your choice..
one more thing..
overclock in thunder kernel is not confirmed yet...
yes it shows 1040mhz on cpu spy
but still not comfirmed to be working..

I found one thing that may help some one.. MOST of you may already know this, but there are noobs like me....
If you have an unlocked bootloader, then you can install a custom kernel which is pre rooted..
so after installing a pre rooted custom kernel , if you install the stock kernel.. the root is still there... right?

Ouf why should we switch back after flashing a prerooted kernel? Stock kernel isn't as good as custom kernel like rage kernel
But you can root without flashing a custom kernel, look in the pinned threads :good:
Normally root should stay there, if the prerooted kernel copies the root files...

Custom kernels often have a better battery life, like for example rage kernel...

See yesterday I also faced the same problem when I flashed jellyblast rom on my friends ace....it shows no services after flashing....than I again flashed stock rom through Odin and after that I scanned the memory card ... it shows many viruses and than I again rooted and flashed jellyblast and it worked.....
Conclusion flash it again with new file....some files of the rom might be corrupted...

Stock kernal is best for gaming I think....though our developers are great to give us two kernal.
...so try out both...both have different taste
