How to keep certain apps active - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am frustrated by how slow I9300 is to respond opening phone app, camera, etc. I am using Apex launcher on stock and am rooted. Anyone know of a way to keep certain apps on the top of the stack, so they will open without having to load from flash memory?

Apps won't close

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this. I am trying to find a way to actually close apps. I have used several apps such as advanced taskkiller and android booster but no app I can find really closes the app. I'll use pandora for example. Since I've loaded it on my phone I have not opened it once but whenever I look in my running apps its running. I will close/force close the app and within 10sec its back open. There are several third apps like this. I understand that some apps need to run but there are some that don't. I need an app that will close these apps and keep them closed. This ends up really bogging down my phone after a day or two of keeping it on. FYI I am using a HTC thunderbolt unrooted

Do you have any idea on how android works? Read the permissions of the app to understand more.
You cannot close apps on Android.

That's a lie.
if you use the pandora app rarely then you should download titanium backup and freeze the app. When you need to use it again simply defrost it.Simple as hell

I have all ways problem with facebook widget app after I open games or havy apps.
The facebook widget dosen't work, I also have a delay in whatsapp messages delivery.

Try to kill all apps and clear ram memory after playing the game

This is not a solution, I'll need to do it after each time when I open a game...and this happens not only after I use games also when I use chrome browser
Have you tried updating your rom or installing custom one

Yes I updated my rom to its last version. I don't want to install a custom rom...

Apps safe to disable?

Anyone have a list of apps they safely disabled without breaking anything else?
Thanks

you can disable any of the "allowed" apps in the stock application manager without breaking anything. Once we get root, then obviously you will have to be more carefull, especially with system apps(green android icons).

Possible to not loose screen content when changing apps ?

Hi
When changing the foreground app via the taskswitcher, the new foreground app most of the time (if not always) has to reload/rebuild it's screen content. For example à web browser has to reload it's page (from the internet). This is slow..
Is there a way to configure things in a way that it keeps it's page in memory so that when switching back to the app, no reloading is needed ? It would make task switching à much more fluent expérience...
How to do this please ?
Thanks

You can use JKAY framework and lock the apps you want in memory

The apps are reloading because they are being killed, stock browser for example is a fat ***** (a smooth ***** but FAT nonetheless). A few tabs can easily make it take up 100mb-150mb of ram and thus it gets killed by android and when you go back to it, all the tabs have to reload. Another scenario is android killing other apps (like contacts, or messaging) to make room for the foreground app (such as the browser), you then switch to messaging and the browser is killed as a result, to make more room

Thanks for thé idea... But for me the installation of this framework seems complicated.. And I understand that it requires à specific rom and does not work with my stock rom (international s3) 4.1.1 (and soon 4.1.2)? Is that right ?
So it would be nice to have a easier solution to keeping some apps in memory (including their graphic pages)
Anyone ?
Thanks !

Chrome breaks music app n ram usage on LLA

Well guys this is weird. While using chrome, music app stops working and closes automatically. It doesn't happen with any other browser. I'm on indisn firmware 4.1 1 right now, non rooted. Anyone has any suggestions or facing same issue?
One more question, is the high ram usage fixed in uk version lla or it's the same??
Sent from my GT-I9300 using. xda app-developers app
Its the ram usage...the phone automatically closes other apps for freeing ram so that apps that uses huge resources like chrome can work..since music player works in the background.the low memory killer feature force closes the apps...i have personally experienced this problem when using facebook flipboard etc..

Any possible solution bro?
One question though, what's the point of having a powerful phobe such as s3 if it can't even run 2-3 apps at a time?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Try clearing recently used programs list...since recently used programs will be cached for quickly launching next time the user needs it.it will take up a lot of ram...also try using advanced system care from play store...this app proved useful to me and many others..if it still doesn't work..try to uninstall least used apps..since some services will run in the background and eats up ram..and still not working means..keep the post alive and we can expect someone will come up with a solution
Hope this helps..

Bump!
Well i've successfully rooted mu device and i hope there can be more ways now to make it lagfree. So can anyone please suggest any ways now? I don't wanna install any custom kernel or recovery. Just wanna tweak the stock ROM for good performance and multi-tasking.
