[Q] I can not add ROMs to my phone. - HTC Droid DNA

I am using a ViperDNA and want to add a new ROM. My computer displays a message stating that my phone is disconnected or has stopped responding when I drag the ROM onto my internal memory. Does anyone know an alternative?

You could always just download the rom from your phone, then navigate into /data/media/Downloads when you want to flash it.

I download the zip, boot into TWRP, clear cacher, clear dalvik cahce, and factory reset. I designate the NosM7 .zip to be installed and it fails immediately after I swipe.

Sounds like you got a bad download. Connect to a stable wifi network and try downloading it again.

Oh alright thanks!

I had this issue when I was trying to flash Carbon. I downloaded from the website to my PC like 4 times before doing it from my phone when it finally worked.

I had the same issue with carbon, and m7 digital dream sense five. What fixed it was resetting my wireless router then my modem. I pm pie about the carbon Rom he suggested I try downloading again. But what was happening was my router was losing signal and there was delay in the download of the carbon.zip wich corrupted the zip file. But redowning it for the third time after the reset it worked and flashed fine! I use to have same issues with transferring from pc to device with data cable. What confused me at first was because on my mac all the roms would transfer fine over data cable but on my pc I would get the same problems as you are getting. So what I did with my pc was uninstall HTC synch manager reinstall the HTC DNA drivers but not install synch manager and that seemed to solve the problem so give that a try with uninstall of synch manager fresh install of HTC DNA drivers. Or if you have Bluetooth like my iMac I found transfering files threw Bluetooth, works much better and allot faster. Also make sure your using same data cable that came with your HTC dna charger. Or a high quality replacement. I found when using cheap or generic data cables they don't work and speed of transfer is very slow. And make sure you have usb debugging turned on in setting on your device! I hope you get it to work, I know how frustrating it can be when stuffs not working out for you. Good luck and I hope I helped in some way, if not I'm sorry and hope you get it working bro!

[Q] Need help going back to rootless stock w/ no usb capabilities.

My usb port charges, but MOST DEFINITELY will not connect in any way to my pc...with all necessary drivers installed. My fiancee's connects just fine...so my usb is broken. Have tried cleaning it numerous times...etc. Does anyone know if it is possible to return to factory stock 2.2 or 2.1 with a flashable zip? I guess I'm also wondering if a nandroid flash will completely unroot me, also!? I found a file that says it'll take me to baseband T959UVJFD w/out root. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Check The Bible.
Usually when this is an issue it's b/c of a rom or something, what did you flash? Was it a non-vibrant rom?

I've got this same problem. It's been like this for a couple days. I'd had Bionix-v1.3.1 on the for 4 or 5 days with no issues. All of a sudden, though, no computers I've tried will recognized the phone in mass storage mode. It still charges fine, though.
Edit: And I couldn't find anything in the Bible on USB connection issues. Maybe I missed it.

I've tried mounting in linux, Windows XP, and a mac. None of them work in Mass Storage mode.
I went to Recovery and checked out the Restore option in Backup & Restore. I saw all my backups there, but I didn't try restoring b/c of Voodoo.
Anyone?

Went to my fiancee's laptop, installed the 64 bit samsung drivers, along with having ADB set up, and boom... was finally able to connect in Odin 1.7 to restore back to stock. Once that happened, I was able to connect on the same laptop to pull all files from the phone to make sure it was wiped out. You can also check partition in Odin. It's wierd, though, cuz my phone would not connect all of a sudden on a specific pc, while it worked just fine on another. And my old lady's worked on both! Same roms, too. WIERD!

Thanks for this. It does sound like my partitions might be a little funky. I'm reformatting my laptop, so I'll see if starting fresh on at least the computer side will help things along.

[Q] Theme not installing properly

Currently I have a rooted Sensation.
I tried to install a theme using Rom Manager.
It said it installed successfully.
I reboot.
And when I boot up everything is weird. The drop shadow on all windows is green.
The Desktop isn't showing at all.
I can select applications from the locked menu. (Before I unlock) Like camera, mail etc.
Any thoughts on what might be wrong and how to fix?
Themes may require you to have a de-odexed rom. Is the rom you have odexed or de-odexed?
Either that, or you downloaded a bad file. Re-download and install again to see if it works.

I don't know what odexed means.
I have tried to install it again.
And maybe I should mention that I installed it through bootloader? Recovery or what it is called.
I saw that you were able to install other themes simply using the apk file. But this one required you to install it through recovery.
Currently I am able to take photos and call people. There's no home screen.
When I try to view messages I get an error.
Is there any way I can like reset it to before I installed the theme? I was told to back it up before installing the theme, which I didn't do. Any other way to fix this?
Check out this thread. It will help you get back to a stock rom, since you never made a backup.
I would strongly advise to to backup up everything before you start messing around. That way you have a backup to fall back on in case something like this issue happens.
When I first started messing around with root and custom roms, I never did a nandroid, and the phone was bootlooping. So I had to start over from scratch.

Tried Method 2 of debranding since it was the easiest one. Made no difference.
Trying Method 1 right now. Will report back with progress.
Just realized that I am not able to use Method 1 since it requires me to have USB Disk Drive mounted, which I can only do from recovery mode. And since I did not remove the image file it now constantly asks me if I want to update in HBOOT. So I can't really get past it.
If I update, it updates and reboots. If I click cancel it reboots.
What should I do?

I said to run a RUU. It stands for Rom Utility Update. This is an executable program that you can run from the PC to your phone. It will take an image that was made specifically for your phone and flash over what you currently have, and once it's done and you power your phone on, it should look like you just took the phone out of the box. Download the RUU that matches your phone to the PC. Be sure that you pick the right one. Run the RUU on your PC. It will instruct you what to do as far as plugging your phone to the PC, when to turn it on/off, etc.
Once the program finishes, your phone should be reset, stocked, and back to normal.

Ok, I was able to fix so that I can moun the USB Mass Storage device in Revolutionary CWM(In HBOOT). But the setup can not find my phone.
Any tips on how to deal with this? Is there maybe a way of installing a zip from the sdcard?
Okay, so I got my phone semi running like before.
And I plugged it into my computer and choose HTC Sync.
My phone was picked up by the computer.
So I tried starting the setup. And it worked!
Great success!

[Q] Google play error on Wi-fi

Hi,
I've been using Viper 2.00 on HTC one X+ AT&T .
After having non stop reboots, everytime I used BT, i tried to flash some roms, but since then
I can't download anything from google play over wifi (error 927) . it is possible only on 3G.
Nothing helps: I used the nandroid restore, wiped everything, changed all the available roms for my model and nada.
Any idea how to solve it ?
Thx
Did you do a clean install with the boot.img from the zip flashed.

I flashed the boot.img from the main download page of viperXL, and also with any other rom I found on xda, i used its boot.img as well.
I've been thinking maybe I can go back to the original AT&T HOX+ recovery.image, and start all over, but the at&t image link in FAQ page is dead.
besides I don't know if I'll do it, I would have to lock the bootloader again ?

my home wi-fi is excellent, any other instrument is working Ok, and even this HOX+ worked great until a week ago.

There have been a lot of posts on similar issues. You can "sideload" a ROM via ADB commands from your computer. If you can get into recovery, your phone can be fixed. I haven't done this myself (still stock), but do a search on google or xda on sideloading a ROM from ADB.

EDIT: But formatting does not seem to be needed if you sideloaded successfully.

You have to be careful with No o.s installed .
Normally if u reboot when u see that you'll brick.
Without a o.s you have no bootloader..
I bricked my s3 and had to jtag it when it said no o.s I rebooted and black blank screen nothing.
I've had this happen also when choosing format system and format data /media some reason it botches the boot up .
My only fix was to sideload a rom or wipe factory and restore a nandroid .

What you need to do is this exactly .
Dload a rom on pc reboot recovery on phone first .IMORTANT FIRST FORMAT SYSTEM.
Then when that's done choose factory reset.
Rename the rom to Rom.zip or anything you want but make sure it says.zip
Sometimes sideload won't work if roms not renamed , that's mentioned in another thread about sideloading.
Then sideload the rom
Let it load and install .
When it reboots itl take a while .
I just did this to my HTC one the other day after I got stuck after formating data media .

Yeah my phone is currently working now, but I have no play store nor do I now if my phone is rooted.
I have a custom ROM on it XenonHD. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2290785
That one.
Just currently trying to get to grips on how to work it and that.
I can't download the playstore because it says it is currently installed but it is nowhere to be seen.

SM-N915V 6.0.1 Custom ROM Multilanguage N915VVZW2CQI3

Hello, dear friends. Recently I built a new custom ROM for SM-N915V Multilanguage edition based on latest firmware N915VVZW2CQI3. Default language is Russian I used some deodexed files from SM-N915F and SM-N915FY when built this ROM. The ROM is tested on my Galaxy Note Edge Verizon Phone. It is works excellent and stable. It is looks like SM-N915F. All Verizon programs and some apps like Hangouts, PenUp, Google Music, Instagram, Flipboard removed. At first on your phone must be installed a new firmware. https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...opment/verizon-note-edge-marshmallow-t3689387 Then, after download TWRP.rar file unpack it and copy TWRP folder to your phone or external SD Card. Go to TWRP Recovery Wipe menu and wipe dalvik/ art cache, cache, data, system. Go to restore menu and select storage where you copy unpacked TWRP folder. Select my backup and restore System. The system will install more than usually, please don't panic. Everything will be good.
This backup is tested and 100% working. Before installing my ROM, create a full backup of your system. So you have no risk. Please, after installing the ROM, write your feedback, it is important to me.

I'm so sorry, please, try this file. This version is like patch

If this method will not work, try to install my system backup. This is backup of my phone including system and bootloader. Unrar, copy folder to your phone and restore by CWRP.

That flash with the Update zip was successful. I get to the checking connection part of setup though and it never finishes. The 4g and wifi icons show and it says connected when i sign into wifi but im not getting any data.
I finally pushed the skip button at checking connection and i tried to sign into google play and i got nothing. Says theres no connection.
Oh and S Note stops and force closes.
And the TWRP backup -
S Note stops during setup as well. And again no data connection. The icons are there and active but still no data, cant sign into google play.

I know this problem. Do not do anything else with the firmware.
Install this program freedom, then you can uninstall it if you want. The program helps you buy coins in some games for free.

I don't know why SNote doesn't work I will send to you another SNote and you can install it by TWRP again and then it must be updated by Play Market

You must wiping only dalvik and cache. Which firmware was installed before?
I was using a 5.1.1 custom ROM, might that be the culprit?
