I've created 2 different gold cards using this Gold Card Tool

I've downloaded the rom
RUU_Flyer_HTC_WWE_2.00.405.3_R_Radio_20.3501.30.089BU_3809.05.04.10_M_release_194964_signed
Extracted the rom, renamed to PG41IMG.zip and copied onto the gold card.
Booted into fastboot, after copying & checking the zip - i still get a
CID Incorrect - Update Failed!
Am i missing something?
I need to upgrade from 1.48.707.3 so i can S-OFF (as revolutionary doesn't work on 1.48.707.3)
UPDATED:
Looks like the problem was the CID extracted by vorbeth's PC tool - it doesn't grab mmc2 (only 0/1) - and mmc2 on the flyer is the one you need!
So for others trying to upgrade to WWE - use the goldcard helper found in market to grab the right CID - using that successfully allowed me to create a working Gold card - following the steps here.
Then its a matter of booting into hboot/fastboot and it will verify and start flashing the updated rom.
Then run rev for s-off goodness!
Thanks to all who helped and of course the devs that has made s-off possible. Already donated 20 Euro's for their efforts

I thought someone who described the complete steps managed to do it? Hmm...
Gold card doesn't work ... Root it (instructions at http://revolutionary.io) then install your choice of stock ROMs .. or a custom one ... some will be coming soon...

as you seen in the at least s-off thread in the developers forum you can get a goldcard !
it works. yesterday i flashed my o2 flyer with the unbranded rom.
all you need to do is make a goldcard, but be sure as you ask for the cid to ask for device mmc2 !!!! this is the sd card you inserted in your device.
then download the pg41img.zip at the s-off thread. and follow their instructions and you´re good to go.
btw thanks a lot at the guys in the developers forum.
Good advice from NerdDoctor2T. Other people telling you to revolutionary first do not understand that sometimes you can't revolutionary with without upgrading the ROM.

you did everything right. but you need to boot to hboot, with the goldcard sd inserted and the image of the rom copied to your sd card. then in hboot wait a second and the goldcard is starting the flashing process.

Yeah, I kept going into the hboot screen and would get that little flash where it was checking for the image file and it didn't seem to take, then on the 3rd try it just started going.... strange... but it all ended up working fine.

I created the goldcard no problem.
hboot starts flashing - but after loading/checking - i get the CID error.
What tool did you use to create your Goldcard - and what type of microSD card did you used (i tried a 1GB & 8GB sandisk - no luck
i did use a 2 gb kingston card. when you get an cid error, check if you asked for the mmc2 device cid. because on mine i checked mmc0 and thats the internal flash, so i did mmc2. and thats the cid for the sd card and than it was functioning.
tool for the goldcard. i dont remember the name, because i took it out of the s-off thread in the developers forum.

Ok looks like the goldcard tool i used couldn't find the correct CID - (would only find 1 - the second would fail - and compared to the goldcard app from the market - it looks like it was the cid of the internal SD!!)
Just generated a goldcard with the second number using the manual method described here.
And am currently in HBOOT and it's passed the CID check and Flashing..

As many of you know, S-Off is out, but it requires 1.10.
Thus some of us with Hboot 1.07 seemed rather stuck on S-Offing.
My 32GB GSM flyer is from Taiwan and came with Hboot 1.07 and
has software number 1.38.709.7.
Recently I was searching around, rather within the past few 2 hours I managed to successfully update and S-Off my Flyer and would like to share my findings within a guide that points to other guides so that others who are in the exact same situation may find inner peace haha.
I do thank everyone involved in this whole thing, whether it be people who wrote other guides or the people who worked on S-offing and other forum sites that I condensed this information from. (one being mobile01).
However before i get started, should you follow this guide because you are in the exact same situation, do know that this is at your own Risk
STEP 1
Download This, You will need it.
RUU_Flyer_HTC_WWE_2.00.405.3_R_Radio_20.3501.30.089BU_3809.05.04.10_M_release_194964_signed from
http://www.filefactory.com/file/ccd...9BU_3809.05.04.10_M_release_194964_signed.exe
(or any other place where this may be found).
Now follow this link and create your gold card.

(Remember when it talks about opening the RUU and getting the Rom.zip, it means while you're running the exe, grab the image and then once you've copied it somewhere you can close it.)
STEP 2
Once you've created your goldcard, simply put your renamed Image file onto the goldcard and then stick this card back into the flyer.Reboot your htc flyer into bootloader mode and let it run the checks, Should everything be smooth (when it asks you to) tap volume up to confirm yes and it'll update. At the end of this you should have now you're newly updated 1.10 Hboot.
Once you're done updating the Hboot, take out the goldcard and either format or rename the zip to avoid installing a new ROM which may not be desirable for most people.
If you got a CID error make sure your numbers entered in the steps within the guide above were all correct.
Now Here's where it gets easier.
I did this all under windows so I wouldn't know how smooth this would be on linux.
STEP 3 (S-Off)
Use this Guide below to now S-Off

I chose to install CWM once everything worked well.
From here you can do the following steps or just simply pick one of the custom roms that our excellent chefs have cooked up and you'll be on your way to phone calling, BT headsets and permanent root.
STEP 4
Once you've got S-Off you 'll want to root.

第二是我都是用Windows操作的
Vol- ＝ 右下音量健
Vol+＝ 右上音量健
這樣會有什麼好處？
可已用一些方便的程式像是Titanium backup 或是Setcpu
但是flyer 更好玩， 可已解開密密功能。
例如說， 連接藍牙耳機， 但更重要是可以解開打電話功能
幾個禮拜前temp（暫時） －Root 有破到但還是需要S-Off。
最近Alpharev 跟 Revolutionary 最近有破解flyer 的S-On 變成S-Off 但是有個問題就是需要Hboot1.10 所已我們大部分的台灣和別的flyer 在hboot 1.07都不行。
但最近有人發現到可以升級到hboot1.10 然後就可以順利的破解。
因為我是實在太感動， 所以就在這裡幫忙大家整理好資料。
我的flyer 剛開始的軟體1.38.709.7 板本， hboot 1.07
警告！（有些人不小心就刷到英文板的ROM！記得總是會有風險）
步驟大概是這樣：
1： 自作以個金卡（讓你的flyer可以升級）
2： 用AlphaRev+Revolutionary 來得到S-Off 和裝CWM就可以開始刷ROM
(剩下的就看你要不要保留原本的rom)
3 ： Root—的到管理權利
4： 解開BT耳機和電話的程式
在這裡我要先說謝謝很多人的努力才有可能破解flyer
這個之前， 這是有風險的，有什麼問題可要自己處理
1：：第一步：：
先下載這個

2:: 第二步：：
要做好金卡 （這個地步不需要把flyer連到電腦）－－感謝kk57的圖片！
a. 假如你有裝HTC 軟體在電腦上, 的軟體請先刪掉 破完可以再裝
然後裝這些driver從：
http://downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe
（假如上面的Driver不行（例如說你是win7x64）請重新裝HTCsync但是要關閉（可以 到處理程序關 或者 右下角把它關閉）
b. 去flyer
Settings -> applications->Development
確定USB Debugging 有開
然後
Settings->Power 確定 FastBoot有開
然後
Settings -> Connect to Pc-> Default Connection type 選charge only。
c. 下載完上面， 先用管理的身份執行他 但是只是讓他有視窗）先不要動什麼（都不要按什麼）
他剛跑出來的時候會先創作一些暫時的檔案, 你剛好要得是其中一個叫做ROM.zip。 大概 在 C:\Documents and Settings\XXX\Local Settings\Temp\---- (win XP)
或是
C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\（win7)
在這個裡面用搜尋功能去找 然後放到桌面上 （傳完就可以把RUU 的程式關了）（記得有RUU的視窗的時候才會出現ROM.zip
d. 把ROM.zip 名字改稱PG41IMG.zip （不要弄錯1之後是一個I）然後準備好一個 microsd卡來當金卡（至少要差不多要600MB吧）(需要的話請先備份）
PS: 如果你找不到rom.zip 請到以下連結直接抓也是可以(轉至xda-developers論壇 kokyew 大大的上傳).

e. 先把這個卡放進你的flyer然後到
Setting-> Storage-> Unmount Sd Card 等他unmount完-> Format SD Card
f. 然後去google Market 下載一個程式叫“GoldCard Helper”
g. 下載， 安裝完 打開這個程式然後因該會看到MMC2的一些號碼， 你要的號碼是 “Reverse CID” 的號碼。
去psas.revskills.de/?q=goldcard把 你的e-mail和你的CID號碼填好選好Android輸入一些字跟號碼就送出去， 不到幾秒你會收到 一個e-mail
把e-mail中的img 檔案下載放到桌面
h. 去mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/
下載 HxD Hex Editor
i. 把你在flyer的microsd卡拿出來放進SD －Adaptor 裡 接到電腦
j. 用管理身份執行HxD HexEditor
上面選Extra-> Open Disk 把“ReadOnly”拿掉， 然後Physical Disk 之下選你的microsd卡
(絕對不要選到你的硬碟！請確認一下！）
然後選Extra->Open Disk Image 選你從e-mail下載的IMG打開
然後問你要512的時候， 按OK （現在因該有兩個小視窗）
k. 先看你的Goldcard.img的視窗然後按Edit->Select All 然後Edit－Copy
L. 換到你microsd卡的視窗， 選00000000 到 00000170 然後Edit-Paste Write， 做 完這個之後， File->Save
M. 把HxD HexEditor關掉， 把PG41IMG.zip放到你的microsd卡上，
（假如一只不行把PG41IMG放不上去而叫你格式化， 有可能在第J步沒有在Physical Disk選microsd卡）
然後把他放進你的 flyer裡(先不要把蓋子放回去）。把flyer關掉. 關掉完， 按Vol- 的按鍵不要放， t同時按Power 然後你因該會看到三 個Android在跳舞這就是Bootloader模式
n. 進Fastboot然後就開始他自己會自動檢查你的microsd卡, 剛開始如下

Loading.....[PG41DIAG.zip]
No image!
Loading.....[PG41DIAG..nbh]
No image or wrong image!
以上這兩個這樣顯示是正常的,因為我們MicroSD卡沒這兩個檔
然後等Loading....[PG41IMG.zip]
Flyer 正常讀取此rom,故要等旁邊藍色Bar跑完（像是下面）.

Loading PG41IMG.zip完後,接下來是Checking PG41IMG.zip, 右手邊市跑黃色Bar, 一樣等他跑完.
（像是下面）.

當Checking跑完後, 會出現以下畫面, 此時請按Vol+ 開放刷HBOOT, 右手邊是跑紅色Bar條（下面的圖）.

請注意,當紅色Bar跑完後, 會自動重開機, 此時你要快點把MicroSD卡移除, 這樣就不會刷到歐版ROM!!
（只要更新一次！！）
(更新完了就把金卡先拿出來避免不小心刷成另外個ROM）
在這裡確定你的Hboot 是否是Hboot1。10
(要像下面的圖（目前還是s-on）

好了剩下就簡單多了
假如有CIDerror 或是什麼 Fail的問題， 也許是莫個部份沒有弄好
成功的話
到這裡把你的 金卡從新Format（不用了）
（當然蓋子可以放回去）
第三步：： S-on --to－ S-Off
（先把Fastboot 關掉）
（USB3.0有可能有問題，請用USB2.0）
（以下大小寫會有關係）
a. 先去revolutionary.io （這是網址）
b. 按Download for Windows(先不要關視窗)
c. 把flyer弄到android裡
d. 接到電腦
e. 把zip解壓縮執行exe
f. 在一個DOS的視窗裡你會看到一個號碼： HTXXXXX
g. 在revolutionary.io 你按DownloadforWindows時， 因該會有個Beta Key 視窗跑 出來， 選windows， HtcFlyer， Hboot 1。10， 輸入你的HTXXXXX號碼然後按generate key 就會有個號碼跑出來
h. 把這個號碼輸入進你的DOS視窗然後按enter就等他執行完就結束了
然後會問你要不要裝CWM我是有而且為了方便最好是.
雖然我第一次就成功
這個步驟廳說有可能需要試很多次才會成功所以不要擔心太多
最好先備份你目前的ROM（下面有寫怎麼備份）
到這裡你可以到xda刷他們的ROM（個有個的優點）
剩下的是想要用原來用的STOCKROM才需要的地步
到這裡把你的 金卡從新Format
沒有裝到CWM的話請到這邊

第四步 Permanent-Root（永遠的得到管理權利）
a.)下載這個

(放到你的Microsd卡（不是金卡）)（不需要解壓縮）
b.)進去CWM（到Bootloader到Fastboot選recovery）
c.)先備份你的ROM（Backup&Restore然後選backup）
d.)備份完選Install from sdcard” 選你下載的zip
e.)刷完你就破解完了然後從新開機
假如你的flyer卡住了， 沒關係，按著POWER+Vol- 就會OK
假如你發現你回到android裡，沒有Superuser，請從新操作 Step 4
第五步：： BT+電話
先下載Root Explorer， 然後跑到／System/
你因該會看到一個build.prop
用Root Explorer打開（記得要MOUNT到可以改系統的東西），
看到這些Code的時候， 假如後面的數字不一樣請改到下面的
ro.ril.reject.cs.ss.enabled=0
ro.ril.reject.mo.ussd.enabled=0
ro.phone.function=1
(這是解開電話功能)
ro.bt.profiles = 4270403
service.brcm.bt.ag_supported = 1
(這是解開BT功能)
儲存，從新開機， 因該就會看到phone的程式
要用flyer來打電話是會需要BT耳機
之後可以到market上下載busybox還有很多關於root的
到這裡就結束
假如換了ROM
需要中文的話去market上下載MoreLocale2（就可以看中文）
輸入就找“Touchpal"，market上還有很多輸入的KB

It's probably a problem with your Gold Card, Double Check you've done everything in that section correctly
Many thanks for the guide. I don't need to S-off though the phone functionality would be nice. But steps one and two were perfect for me to change my south east Asian ROM (Indonesia according to HTC) to the latest WWE. Goldcard didn't work but a full formatted SD card did the job.

HBOOT
I'm still having problem upgrading Hboot from 1.07.0000 to 1.10.0000.
Attached is a screenshot of my fastboot. any ideas?
not sure if i was in the same boat as others here. I have an S-Off Flyer with the 1.07 HBOOT and I wanted to do the Honeycomb update so I needed to update the HBOOT. Instead of doing this procedure I ran an RUU update (I chose a Chinese version) and it updated the HBOOT though it re-locked my device. Next I ran Revolutionary and followed the rest of the HC instructions on Modaco.
I am now running Honeycomb
I've done the Gold Card process before and though it worked I remember it being a bit of a headache. This might be easier for others in my situation.

Nvm, found the solution by running RUU_Flyer_HTC_WWE_2.00.405.3_R_Radio_20.3501.30.08 9BU_3809.05.04.10_M_release_194964_signed directly, and my phone hboot upgraded to 1.10.0000
Now s-off and gain root. =)
I only used the Chinese RUU because it was handy. The only difference it should make is to flash an RUU compatible with your device and has a usable HBOOT

Yes I got my device rooted and s-off already.

Post 1, step 2:
STEP 2

once you succesfully updated with the gold card there is a missing point!
REMOVE the goldcard and rename the zip to something else or format it before booting with it in the flyer....
Otherwise.. on next reboot it will go on installing the new ROM and you'll loose all your settings (data is on internal SD thankgod..)
I've just been through this.. please update the guide for others who won't read this late post... I lost all the config... nuuuuuu!

As i know you don't need s-off to install ics leaked roms cause the kernel is stock.
If i may give you a suggestion ... WAIT, at moment it seems that there is not a sure way to remove firmware upgrade. On my phone thare are now random issues.
Trust me, the ics experience is something less than you may expect... sense 3.6 kill s it

What means it can't recognize the P86IMG.zip? Does the scan for fimwares abort without any result?
Have you placed it in the root directory of your sd card?

did u check md5 sum on file u downloaded
the file I used has name PG86IMG.zip and not P86IMG.zip, it's size is 14.024kb,
try redownload from shooter rom in dev

it is called PG86IMG.zip so i guess you are right
but my file is 373MB!!!
plus im on hboot 1.49.0018 and want to get recovery & s-off first then root current rom, and then install virtuous (with the new P86IMG.zip which i guess contains the new firmware as well)

The P86IMG.zip will downgrade your HBOOT to 1.49.0007. After that you can use the Revolutionary method ( revolutionary.io ) to get S-off; Revolutionary only works with HBOOT 1.49.0007 or 1.49.0008, that's why you're downgrading the HBOOT.

The P86IMG.zip will downgrade your HBOOT to 1.49.0007. After that you can use the Revolutionary method ( revolutionary.io ) to get S-off; Revolutionary only works with HBOOT 1.49.0007 or 1.49.0008, that's why you're downgrading the HBOOT.

you just flash the official ruu and all goes back to normal including hboot
Also to answer your second question, Run a correct stock RUU file and it should restore everything. To make it s-on again you need to run some commands through fastboot, which i cant remember.

I am the recent new owner of an HTC One X+ on the UK Vodafone network and am keen to get Andorid Revolution HD 6.2 running on it rather than the stock setup.
My system as it stands is as follows:-
Android version: 4.1.1
HTC Sense version: 4+
Software number: 1.14.161.18
Kernel version: 3.1.10-g262c6aa
HBOOT: 1.30.0000
CID (Via CID Getter): VODAP001
I have unlocked the bootloader (S-ON) via htcdev.com and gained SuperSU status and flashed TWRP International thanks to hasoon2000's excellent All-In-One Toolkit v2.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994961) and am now a little worried about taking the next step I guess!
I have the ARHD 6.2 rar file downloaded, the flash_boot_6.x_0.1.rar to flash boot.img and I have also downloaded the firmware (1.17.401.1.zip) as per the requirements according to mike1986. from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995685).
My plan is to use hasoon2000's Toolkit to flash the boot.img, run the wipe command via TWRP (do I also need to upgrade the firmware using the 1.17.401.1.zip via TWRP - and how do I go about that with no writeable SD card) and then ADB sideload the Android Revolution HD 6.2 ROM but I am hanging fire on this process until I can get a little reassurance that this is the correct approach and will work, I think it's the virtual SD card and the fact I cannot actually have the files sat on an SD card that is making me a little apprehensive.
I hope I'm on the right lines because I was very happy with my Desire HD with Android Revolution HD on it prior to my upgrade and am looking forward to getting back to using the most popular ROM on my new phone!
Any help would be muchly appreciated......and please tell me if any of the above is likely to cause me problems!!
you can not use the firmware zip from mike1986.
you have a Vodafone branded Phone. there are no Updates for hboot.

yeah i had looked at that and that was my main concern.
so since mike's rom requires hboot 1.35 i have to wait for vodafone to release a software update from hboot 1.30 to 1.35?
were this to happen would i then be in a position to flash a custom rom (provided the CID appeared on the list of course) or is the fact it's a branded phone a complete sticking point?

As long as you have the latest hboot you can flash any custom rom. It's not your CID preventing it. Problem is vodaphone does not usually release RUU's and if you flash a custom rom and end up with glitches/errors because you have an older hboot. There is no way to return to stock (except a nandroid).

Thanks for the explanation AndroHero, I was under the impression if things didn't match up entirely then there was a risk of bricking.
So my best plan of action would be:-
1. Create a full nandroid of my system as it stands from TWRP
2. Flash the boot.img relating to the custom rom
3. Sideload and flash the custom rom through the All-In-One Toolkit
4. See how I get on!
Either that or stick with stock I guess...
Yeah you shouldnt run into too many issues doing it that way. There is a million in one chance of bricking your phone flashing a rom with any hboot. Infact while S-On doing anything wont "brick" your phone. As long as you have a backup to return too. You'll be fine
You dont need to "sideload" the rom, just boot into android on your voda rom, connect to pc, and copy the rom .zip to the root of the device that appears.

Cool, well that makes me feel a bit more confident about going further, thanks.
I would usually take that route but with the "virtual sd" i seem to be having issues writing directly to the device through windows explorer despite the device appearing it tells me the "Device has either stopped responding or been disconnected" every time I attempt to copy straight to the internal storage - that's the only reason why I'm thinking I need to "sideload" the rom.zip

ok... i did it. this guide:
Flashing Android RUU Update Using HBoot
- First you need the RUU.exe that you intend to install.
- Run the RUU as administrator.
- Tick the 'I understand the caution indicated above...' box, and click next.
At this point do not go any further!
- Navigate to C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Temp (Replace xxxxx with yours - AppData is a hidden folder)
You should see one or two folders like this: {E328FA5C-81C2-4B70-96AE-D5418A9A5B75}
- Go into the one with "dotnetinstaller.exe" in it.
- Open up the next folder. (like this : {50F2F878-636A-496F-A7CB-544C067E0C4B}
- Copy "rom.zip" into another folder (outside of temp).
- At this point just Cancel and quit the ROM Update Utility.
- Rename the "rom.zip" to "PD98IMG.zip" and put it on to the root directory of your MicroSD card in your phone.
- Shut down the phone.
- Press the Power button + Volume down button at the same time and hold them untill you get to HBOOT (white screen with skateboarding android).
- Wait for the HBOOT to parse the zip file.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and boot into newly flashed device.

i try to copy the ROM.zip and paste it into other folder. any idea what is "PD98IMG.zip" (on this ex. HTC desire) ? is the Evo3D have the same name with that one ?
What hboot are you now? If you have 1.58, you will not be able to ruu, until you're s off
Generally speaking a stock Rom such as butterz sense will work for the wire trick, I personally used harmonia, but I'm also on vm
The PG86IMG.zip method requires s off I believe, so that wont help you...I could be wrong though

my hboot ver 1.53.0007
and now i use Yoda's ICS....
my plan is use this PG86IMG.zip to get RUU first and then i will unlock it, and run juopunutbear to get S-OFF
but, you said that for use PG86IMG.zip (renamed from ROM.ZIP from RUU) is only can when i have S-OFF (1.58), is this the same case with my hboot ver ?

I'm honestly not sure, it sounds like you have gsm, I can only speak for my CDMA.
I could be wrong, but I needed s off to change my hboot ( by flashing pg86img), so I assume phone needs soff to flash any pg86img.zip...but I don't have an son phone to try.
And I just knew there is no ruu for the latest CDMA hboot, which is 1.58
I would say if you're going to try ruu through the pg86img, just be 100% sure it's for gsm..

on this case , i only want to get RUU installed on my phone....not for downgrading hboot yet...this is for getting S-OFF with juopunutbear i think...

Only .zip files can be flashed directly from your phone. In order to run .exe file you need a computer

No. Rename RUU .zip file to PG86IMG and put it on root of your sd card. Then pull out your battery, put it back and press vol down and power to get to bootloader and when asked to update press vol up.

btw...is that possible to restoring app backup from ICS to JB with titanium backup ?
