TMOUS Firmware Packages - Release Builds [Update 2/22] - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

TMOUS Firmware Packages
These are the currently publicly available firmware images for the T-Mobile HTC One (M7) from both officially released RUUs & OTAs. I have made them available here to help make the return to stock (for whatever reason) just a little easier. All of these packages can be obtained through other means such as the official OTA and official released RUUs. These packages are intended for s-off users & users of custom roms that cannot currently except over the air updates.
DISCLAIMER
Flashing hardware dependent and core software like firmware packages is inherently risky. You should know the risks before modifying these software imgs on your device. You will have no recourse should something go wrong during the flashing process. An error during the upgrade process may make the device non-functional or "bricked." I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device. USE AT YOU OWN RISK

*Importan Notice*
These firmware packages contain boot.img and are intended to be flashed while running a stock 4.19.531.xx ROM or before flashing a 4.19.531.xx ROM. Any other ROM may fail to boot after flashing. These packages also include the stock recovery.img, which has a two step process to enter. First, boot into bootloader and select recovery. Then, at the black screen with the red triangle, press power+UP to enter the essentially useless stock recovery. If you want use a custom recovery, like TWRP, you will need to fastboot flash it again after flashing firmware.
These firmware.zips are unsigned, so S-Off is required to flash these packages.
IF YOU ARE S-ON LEAVE NOW! This thread is intended for S-Off users that need to return to stock. It is not a general update/upgrade thread. Do not attempt to flash while S-On! Thanks for Understanding.

Link works now thanks. So I'm assuming since the download is 38MB we need to be on .7 then flash this firmware?

This is simply firmware, it has no included system software whatsoever, which is why it's only 38MB. Typically the firmware zip will be anywhere from 50-100MB, however, unneeded firmware images are not included AND we could still use the missing adsp.img. If your S-off you can flash firmware regardless of what software you're running, but you may need to reflash your ROM's boot.img if it fails to boot after flashing firmware, as these packages contain the stock boot image.

Awesome Thank you!

These are the stock firmware imgs from the 1.27.531.8 OTA update. As such it includes radio version 4A.14.3250.15_10.34.1150.02L.

Thanks so much for posting this!
Been looking to get something like this for a while. Always felt there was something missing besides stock roms and stock nandroids to get us back if we upgraded firmware down the road and wanted something to get us back to 4.1.2 and 1.27.531.x Rom.
Can you describe what wcnss and adsp do and anyway we can go about getting them to make your package complete, minus a T-Mobile ruu?

wcnss = wifi/wlan firmware (no longer used)
adsp = not 100% sure, I believe it communicates Hboot and kernel allowing system to load
The reason adsp is important is that sometimes when switching to newer roms, they will not boot without the newer adsp.img and matching Hboot. In our case, at least for now, the adsp.img from the AT&T firmware package is likely fine. The only reason I have not included it in this firmware package is because I'm trying to use only stock T-Mobile resources on the off chance there is a minor change. As I said, in this case I believe its fine to use but that was my thought process.
As far as acquiring the needed imgs, the best way is, of course, ripping them from an OTA update. An RUU would work as well but would need to be decrypted first (fairly easy) and on top of that, I don't see the one being leaked for t-mobile. The next OTA should contain a full firmware package assuming it's the Android 4.2 update. The only other way is to DD the the different partitions. The problem with that is we need a complete partition table and I have not seen one.

Can I use this to get a warranty?

No, not in and of itself. To return a phone for warranty you would need to return to a completely stock state.
To do that (since we don't have RUU):
flash the stock, untouched, odexed rom found in the developer forum (not the one with CIQ removed)
flash the custom firmware zip found in this thread (only needed if you have previously changed firmware such as radio or recovery)
finally, using Revone, lock your bootloader. I don't mean relock as it will then display the "relocked" flag in Hboot. I mean use the lock option.
Optional: set S-on
Its up to you whether you then want to set S-on again or not. I personally have returned phones S-off without issue, by that's up to you.

I don't know anything about that poster and he doesn't say the full version number. Is it 1.27.531.7? Is it 1.27.531.8? I dunno. I don't vouch for things I can't verify myself.

Hypothetical only because I like to think of scenarios this firmware would come in hand
Say I had decided to upgrade to the latest 2.24 international firmware and run some 2.24 international based Rom, lets say ARHD 12 for sake of argument, but decided for whatever reason I had to get back to T-mobile stock.
Do you seen any complications of returning to stock by restoring my 1.27.531.x nandroid and this firmware? Would the missing adsp.img and wcnss.img come into play at that point?
I'm just trying to think of worst case scenarios and to have all my ducks in a row so if something bad did happen I'm fully prepared and not someone who starts a bunch of "help me" threads. Also this is great for learning. (Thought I learned a lot with my old Sensation but the One feels like a whole new ballgame.)

Now..for the radio...fastboot flash radio <radio.img>?
Edit: nvm got the radio done too, for those wondering like I was, I was correct its fastboot flash radio radio.img. My first HTC device so I'm still learning.
can this be flashed the same way we used to do with the TBolt? by placing the appropriate file name on the root of the SDcard and it will automatically load when booted into hboot... it looks like PL83IMG.zip is the proper name... and where can I get the radios from the OTA update or do I just pull it from the OTA PKG?

Since we have no SD card, HBOOT doesn't look for the PL83IMG file, and yes, just pull the radios from the OTA and fastboot flash them and you should be good.

Since the DNA does not have an SDCard, it does not search for a PL83IMG.zip to the best of my knowledge. The updated firmware can be found in the firmware.zip in the OTAPkg.zip: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390288116658474558
im confused on how to extract the radio.img.. after i unzip the ota i cant extract the files from the firmware.zip it keeps giving me an invalid error... do we need this hboot just to flash a radio?

If not, can you point me the direction of an RUU, as most of the ones ive found have broken links, and download stops halfway.

RUU_M7_UL_JB43_SENSE50_MR_Cingular_US_3.17.502.3-decrypted.zip

CID: CWS__001
To flash (s-off only):
Code:
adb reboot-bootloader
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip [I]rom.zip[/I]
Replace rom.zip with the actual zip file name.

It's taking for ever to download the decrypted zip. Is it anyway you can remove the largest file and allow me to download so I can make a firmware package. Don't really need the system img.

Alright this is what I've done, I've flashed old touch drivers and then used the 1.26.502.15 rom to flash in recovery. My phone is downloading the 4.3 ota now. How can I copy the ota from my phone?
Edit: Done!

You have one or two options. You can go to my thread and flash the firmware package and then the new radio, then flash a stock 4.3 rom in the ATT thread. Or you can go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474782 download the 1.26.502.15 rom and flash, take the ota, reboot and flash your custom recovery and if it's twrp allow it to root and done. Also if you could do fastboot getvar all in boot loader so we could know what firmware, etc. your on would be helpful.
I'm on mobile atm and won't be near a computer for a while, can someone tell me what radio version is included? Is it the 4T radio from the prior AT&T leak?

The RUU contains radio: 4A.19.3263.13_10.38j.1157.04
The OTA contains radio: 4T.20.3218.13_10.12.1718.01L
I was able to flash the ruu.zip file and return to stock without issues. Currently rooted and using CID CWS__01 -- All after I flashed the ruu, and entered the bootloader, it reported my CID as 1111111 (this was before I changed it).
I've done a ton with firmware zips but haven't flashed an RUU yet. Will an RUU zip clear storage as well? Kind of want to play around with the stock experience for a couple days before ViperOne 4.3 makes an appearance.

AT&T 4.4.2 RUU Rom.zip Decrypted

Here's the Rom.zip I pulled from the AT&T 4.18.502.7 RUU
Encrypted version is Removed until i find another source (file was damaged, sorry for any inconvenience )
This will work if your s-off and your modelid: PN0712000 and CID: CWS__001
or you can EDIT the Android-info.txt to match your MID and CID
Decrypted version is here >> http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407580500
Huge thanks to @nkk71 for decrypting the files
And another Big thanks to @AndroidFileHost for the source RUU
RUU_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_Cingular_US_4.18.502.7_decrypted.ROM.zip
Instructions for flashing
If your s-on be sure the bootloader is locked
fastboot oem lock
Copy your downloaded file to your fastboot / adb folder
Rename the file Rom.zip
open a command prompt in the same folder (shift + right click - command prompt here )
adb reboot-bootloader
fastboot commands:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
wait for the Silver HTC logo
fastboot flash zip Rom.zip
the first time you issue a command to flash firmware/ruu in fastboot it only prepares the flash. You have to issue the exact command again:
fastboot flash zip Rom.zip
most times the green status bar does not reach the 100% mark. So when the output in the command window is complete, you can reboot:
fastboot reboot
I find these files much easier to use than the RUU.exe and these can be flashed with a MAC or Linux ....Have Fun !!

Well near as I can tell the RUU did not originate from HTC, someone was able to create it and sign it same as HTC would. But the files behave differently than the "Real" HTC RUU. The only solution I found was to use the True HTC RUU from 3.xx.502.x and OTA to 4.xx.502.x to 5.xx.502.x. It requires s-off to flash the OTA's so it's not the perfect solution for everyone.

Is your bootloader locked/relocked?
Are you S-OFF or S-ON?
What is the CID?
Is this the RUU 3.17.502.3 that you are trying to run?
You will not get any AT&T updates if you are not on the AT&T network!
If you are not S-OFF, I would recommend obtaining S-OFF then rebrand your phone to the International (.401) variant. Then you could get the OTA updates and not worry about the AT&T network.

Here is a outline of what you will need to do.
Here are the steps to re-branding your phone to Int'l:
Unlock bootloader if not unlocked already!
Install Custom recovery
Download TWRP 2.6.3.3 from here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
Achieve S-OFF, if not already!
With your hboot 1.5x use rumrunner or firewater to get S-Off: http://firewater-soff.com/ or http://rumrunner.us/
Try all options!
Change CID to the new code:
Code:
[B][I]adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001[/I][/B] <- (CID is exactly 8 characters)
[B][I]fastboot reboot-bootloader[/I][/B]
Change MID to the new code: PN0710000 using: [TOOL] MID change without ENG HBOOT | Aroma GUI
Remove "Tampered" with the Guru Bootloader Reset Tool
Download and flash 4.19.401.9 firmware; place firmware in your fastboot/adb folder and rename to firmware.zip. Ensure you have moved all of your personal items off of your phone this firmware will wipe your phone. Open a command window in your fastboot/adb folder and type:
Code:
[B][I]adb reboot bootloader[/I][/B]
After that, type:
Code:
[B][I]fastboot oem rebootRUU [/I][/B]
NOTE: You should see a silver HTC logo come up on your phone after executing this command.
NOTE: if this command freezes, just disconnect the USB cable and hold the power and volume down buttons until the device reboots. Then, repeat the steps above again.
Finally:
Code:
[B][I]fastboot flash zip firmware.zip[/I][/B]
Repeat the same command: IMPORTANT
Code:
[B][I]fastboot flash zip firmware.zip[/I][/B]
NOTE: The green bar on the phone may not go to 100% of the bar ... but If you see completed on your computer command window, wait for a few seconds and move on.
Last Step:
Code:
[B][I]fastboot reboot[/I][/B]
Execute http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_ul_k44_sense55_mr_htc_europe_4-19-401-9_r_radio_4a-23-3263-28_10-38r-1157-04l_release_353069_signed_2-1-exe/ which now matches your CID & MID
There is no need to lock/relock bootloader with S-OFF, and do not even THINK about going back to S-ON!!!
Now you can receive the OTAs or flash them manually.

Yes, it will change when you flash the firmware & RUU. I would keep a copy of it for future use.

You can go back; just do the same steps for AT&T. If you have LTE/4G now you will still have LTE/4G after this process does not change the bands that are hard coded into the phone. The radio in the software merely enhances the bands that are in the phone but can not replace them.

I updated and I think my battery health is better. What about other users? Do u see any changes?
Sent from my HTC One X+ using XDA Free mobile app
I've installed the update now (on top of my custom ROM).
Vibration when I press the capacitive buttons or use the unlock pattern has stopped working. I do have "Settings->Sound->Vibrate on touch" ticked. Has anyone else seen this problem?
EDIT: after lots of fiddling vibrate on touch works. I'm beginning to think I might have been imagining things!
I will install it tomorrow and say if something changed apart. I really hope they took care about other HOX bugs, not just that damn heartbleed.
I try to install on rooted last stock, but it reboot in recovery (twrp)... Rebooted, phone is ok but update not installed... Help?
From what I know, stock OTA updates can only be installed on stock recovery. Not TWRP or CWM.
When in TWRP just browse to the downloaded .zip file (sdcard or download folder) and install manually.
Mine is installed the exact same way and no problem (Rooted, latest stock ROM and TWRP)

That only installs part of the update. You also need to extract the downloaded .zip file and flash the firmware.zip (see instructions 4-7 in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2414238). Flashing firmware.zip is a pain because you have to relock your bootloader, and then when you unlock it again (to reflash custom recovery) your entire phone is wiped, so you need to backup the whole 64GB before starting the process and restore it afterwards.
However, there is no hboot in the 2.18.401.3 firmware.zip so for this OTA in particular you just need to extract the boot.img from firmware.zip and flash it with
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
which doesn't require a wipe.

Thanks for the explanation.
But i'm still a lit bit confused. My HOX+ is rooted with latest stock ROM. Can i use the OTA classic process or do i have to use TWRP ?

Have you unlocked your bootloader?* If so I don't think that the standard OTA process will work, although I haven't personally tried it.
*I expect you have if you are rooted because I'm not aware of a way of rooting a S-ON HOX+ without unlocking the bootloader
Just to be clear, this file is only for the international HOX+ and attempting to install it on the AT&T variety would cause all hell to break lose, correct?
Also, if one were to install this on a custom, rooted rom the process would be to flash the boot.img then install the zip from twrp/cwm?
I just want to be certain I'm understanding everything. Thanks!

Boot in TWRP : Install zip file.
Boot in fastboot : Flash boot.img.
Reboot in system => Still root (TWRP fix it before reboot), and updated.
Just perfect. (and lost apk are back (like light).
Thanks a lot
I think the heartbleed fix in really the only thing they changed. The 8 MP camera bug is still present. Shame on you HTC!
Thank you, this was really helpful. Gonna try to go back stock when I get home.
Can someone tell his experience with the New update what are the changes in performance

I don't think there are any changes in this update except the heartbleed security fix.
