[Q] Notification led brightness - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi,
I've updated my xperia ray to a new CM10 based rom (Racing Bean v3.1-6 N, latest version).
But now my notification led looks very dimmed. It's almost impossible to see if the led is flashing.
Before I was using FXP2xx and the led was much brighter.
Does anyone know a solution to make the led brighter?
Does this work for CM10, because it's made for stock rom? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2212944
Thanks in advance!

[q] pulse notification light aomk rom?!?!

Hi GUYS....i flashed an AOMK ROM (black infinitum exactly) and i saw there is a voice in the display setting: PULSE NOTIFICATION LIGHT......i belive it serves to notify SMS or CALLS, but when i recive some notifications the hardware button doesn't blink...so, someone could help me out? has already happened to some of you?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!
Its a placeholder for other devices with notification LEDs, and should have been greyed out. AFAIK, BLN doesn't work yet on CM9 / AOKP
It's works now with the latest beta siyah kernel here:

Really?? So, just flash this kernel and the pulse notification should work!!?
I'll try it immediately....
I just tried and it does not seem to work...you still might have to install the BLN control app

LED Notification brightness

Is there a way to mod/hack the LED brightness levels? I was trying out different ROM's, almost all AOSP ROM's have very bright LED notifications while in Samsung Stock ROM (Jelly Bean) LED is too dim. It looks like there are some config files inside sys\class\leds folder but after I edit them with Root Explorer and save they just restore to the original value. Any ideas guys?

Try Light Manager app from play store, it gives full brightness as well as options to reduce brightness if you want to reduce it.. Also with lot of other personalisation options...

Try custom kernel e.g boeffla kernel.. have option to change to bright led notification

I already tried Light Manager, it helped a little but I remember that LED's were even brighter on ICS, so the "Bright" setting in Light Manager isn't what I'm looking for. Thank for that kernel, I will look in to it :fingers-crossed:

Any ST25i custom roms with working led bar?

Hello,
I tried several custom roms for Xperia U posted in xda, but not even one has the led bar working like in stock rom.
I'm now with stock 6.1.1.B.1.10 with Munenjis kernel plus some other mods and toggles.
So are there any roms with fully working led bar for Xperia U (ST25i)?
Thanks in advance,
:highfive:

I'm almost givig up of the led bar features because the dialer, contacts and sms in stock rom lag like hell, not to mention that when somebody calls me, first the phone vibrates, then the led lights up, then it starts ringing and only after that the screen comes on, a good 3-4 secs.
Thanks for your reply, :good:

in CM the led bar turns on when needed like for notifications, low battery, charging and some others. most xperia u users say they have bad battery support so most of them would be happy with led turning on as less as possible

Sorry but the led must be the thing that wastes less battery, everybody knows that leds almost don't consume energy.
The hungry battery eaters are: phone trying to have good network signal, 3G, Data traffic, screen/brightness, wireless, bluetooth, vibration...
I think that in the list above the leds of the led bar (there's the led of the camera) would be the thing that consumes less battery.
Just my 2 cents
For anyone that's interested here are the links for SXU newest FXP207:
Rom: http://unrestrict.li/fxp (CyanogenMod9 / FXP207 / kumquat)
Don't forget you have to come from 6.1.1.B.1.54 FW then fastboot flash the boot.img that's in the ROM

Led bar fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38057325&postcount=729
I'll try it later, waiting for your feedback :good:
Already tried it.
Bugs:
Even with the ilumination bar fix, the only color that the leds emit is white. Using ilumination bar notification app won't fix it.
Network signal in statusbar only turns blue if you have an active data or wireless connection, otherwise its grey.
In the original trebuchet launcher the separator line of the dock in the homescreen magically reappears in blue, even if it isn't ticked in options.
That's the 1st 3 i can remember, back to stock :victory:

I've been using the eXperince V2 ROM now for about 3 weeks, occasional lag on an incoming call if I'm in a game, but other than that I'm error free, and I mean even the illumination bar works fine. I recommend it to anyone with an Xperia U. Tried CM9, too glitchy, debating 9.3, tempted but after the last one I'm wary. eXerience V2, AWESOME ROM!!
try zperience rom

Illumination Bar Notification - updated for Android 4.3

I made an update to the app, so it now supports the new notification API's available in Android 4.3
Since this update is only available on SP so far, I figured I'll make a thread here in the SP section for feedback on this.
The new feature is that the light will stop when a notification is removed from the status bar instead of when the screen is turned on.
A new global option to still turn off light when the screen is turned on is also added to make it behave more like before.
The new features are available in app version 3.2
The original thread for the app with more info is over in the Xperia U section.

Not really. Maybe if I get a lot of time over some day I'll give it a try
nice job ,thanks !
Version 3.2.1 has some minor fixes.
The latest update on Xperia L has some bugs it appears, so this version disables some of the stuff that does not work.
Added Google Play and Sony Update Center to list of apps that can be notified.
Amazing app ! Juste bought paid version to support you
I'll try U-Disco too

That will most likely not happen since it would require root.
Also it would use a lot more power.
Nice work mate :good: Is it possible to have music beats effect? I mean the LEDs blinking with musical beats. If not in music then at least blinking with cell's ringtone when there is a call?

Not without root.
If you have root I already made an app called U-Disco for that
Check it out here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2473931

Xperia U - wrong colors of illumination bar

Hi mates.
Its my 1st post on XDAforums and i wanna claim that my eng isnt perfect.
I flashed unofficial roms, so warranty is void now.
I have got annoying problem with illumination bar of my Xperia U. It shows wrong colors. I tried Unofficial JB4.1.2 UltraLite v7 rom and everything was fine. I was using LUC to set notifications of Illumination bar with sms.
Yesterday my problem has started. Illumination bar shows wrong color ,when i order whole bar to show white/silk ,center diode shows pink color. Right and left diode are fine, but center diode misses colors all the time.
Same happens when i pick other colors - when i pick blue ,center diode is purple ,when i pick yellow ,center is green.
I flashed stock 4.0.4 rom for Xperia u now, and problem still exists.
Do you know any solution?
I wish you can help me.
Cheers.

i'm also having the same problem but sometimes it goes back to normal(the center led is not illuminating with green color).
is it repairable by service center or is it just a software bug??

Simple way of checking for a software bug is to flash or restore stock ics and see if the problem persist its a hardware issue and if not then a software bug
