ok so here's where I'm at in this, 5 hrs in and a Gf in tears cause the last 4 were full of freak outs and her sitting over my shoulder. I replaced the LCD screen on her one x+ but I keep running into an issue. When the navigation light ribbon cable is connected it causes the LCD to stop working but when I disconnect it the LCD starts working again but the nav lights stop, and so does sound from the rear speaker and the vibrator thingy. Any ideas what I'm over looking cause I know it has to be something easy that I just couldn't think of under the pressure and all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In case anybody was wondering I used the following video and followed it step by step but am still running into this issue.
*can't post the link but look up injuredgadget HTC one x*
When I can get the LCD to work I can't get the phone to reboot without up plugging the battery (doesn't matter how long I hold down the power button. Is there anyways to get it to hard reset and pick up all the hardware again from scratch? like kinda make it learn what's plugged in? I have to be missing something

Hey, I'm currently using CyanogenMod 6.1.1
In the past week when I am on a call, and I take the phone away from my ear, the screen does not turn back on.
This means I cannot disconnect the call or call anyone or do anything.
It remains off even if I press the power button, volume buttons or circle button.
If anyone has any ideas on why this is happening or how to fix it I would really appreciate it, Thanks!
It's the proximity sensor. Did you replace the screen recently?

Yes I did, I thought I did so correctly but I guess not.
Any idea what could be wrong? Is there a software setting I could set it to just look at orientation not proximity sensor??
You didn't install the tiny rubber cover for the proximity sensor, it won't work properly without it.
You can either fix this or someone posted a hack to disable the sensor a while ago on here. Search for it.

I am currently having this problem, and in the process of finding a replacement for the rubber cover... I just wanted to post a TEMPORARY work around for anyone that runs into this problem:
If the phone is set to keep the screen awake while charging, plugging in the phone (USB or AC) will return the screen after a call. You must have the phone unplugged first (making a call while charging requires unplugging the phone, and then plugging it in again)
Hope this helps anyone with this issue
There's also a temporary fix that you might find useful: just hold it up to a light. Flash the light in the top right corner. Doesn't matter whether you hold it under a lamp, use a flashlight, I even use my bic lighter to activate it. The screen will then turn on again.
So, being clumsy, I left my Streak in my hoodie pocket. Well, we can all see where this would end badly once I bent down to pick something up. I did, dropped my phone and cracked the screen.
I quickly went and bought a replacement glass + lcd display, and replaced the unit. But, upon turning the phone on, I noticed if I hit it a little too hard on one corner, It would restart, and the vibrator motor had ceased to work.
So I figured, hey, I'll just rebuild it again. So I took it apart. Looked through everything, took my time in putting it back together, because maybe everything wasn't fitting snug.
Now, When I turn it on, every thing is on, buttons light up, and the screen is lit up, but it is black. I never even get to the Dell logo. After about a minute the buttons dim, as if in idle. So i believe the phone still works, but maybe the connections on the MoBo is faulty? Any help would be nice, thanks.
check to see if the ribbons are snugged in place.

Well, I just took off the rear cover and reseated all 3 connections, pushed em in as smoothly and far as they would go. But, same thing. Black screen. But the LED is still working...
I'm having the very same problem. This is my second replacement screen and neither displays anything except black screen with backlight on, and the home + settings + back buttons remain lit. I can hear my phone starting up and receiving messages, but I cannot see anything. I've taken the phone apart and put back together five times between two replacement screens.
Does anyone know what ribbon cable might be at fault for this particular issue? The largest ribbon cable was shipped bent across the circuit board on both screens; there is a permanent creese in both ribbon cables, but I'm not certain this is causing the issue.
Any insight or assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated!
Hello All,
This is my first post. So, please bear with my mistakes if any.
I love this phone very much and so wanna get this thing fixed.. Please Help!!!
My Verizon Droid DNA phone is *rooted* with latest CM11 nightly updates. I broke the screen sometime ago and so decided to do the screen replacement myself.
I did replace the screen yesterday successfully ( assembling part) and then fired the phone up to find that my SIM card was not being detected among other things like
* volume rocker UP button not working
* Camera not working along with flash
* The tiny Notification light which we see when charging and also when some messages have been received is not lighting up.
Note that my touch, my swipes on the new screen are perfectly OK
Has anyone experienced similar problems before and have been able to successfully fix it?

I would try dissasembling and very carefully reassembling. I have some experience taking apart and putting this phone back together again. It's a pain and yes, i have had issues with certain components giving out because of my tinkering. Sometimes the reassembly fixed it, sometimes not - I suspect I damaged the component with a careless (or careful, for that matter) mistake. Best of luck to you.

thanks for replying... I just did the disassembly and assembly a couple of weeks ago. The problem was ( I dont know what to call them) with a couple of tiny cables which are right in the center of the phone assembly. All I had to do was press them a bit hard until you hear the 'tick' sound and then screw them up.. Before, I was just putting on the screws and that was caused these problems.
I, however, killed the volume control assembly while doing all this. I now have got a new one after ordering it online.. Planning to do it all over again..
Wish me luck!
regards..
I've been lurking here for a while and just registered so I could ask you all for help.
I have a vzw Galaxy S4 (about a year old) running Android 4.2.2 build MI1. It has been dropped in its has UAG case a couple of times but it has never been wet. So there are a few problems, some related some not. 1) I'm having issues with my screen randomly (so it seems) flashing green lines then going black when I wake it from sleep. The soft buttons will stay illuminated, the screen will let me swipe to unlock (I can here confirmation) but the screen stays black. I'll then hit the lock screen button again and it will go black again. The same thing happens if I go to wake the phone via the home button as well. I have a link to a video of it acting up (Two separate occasions, one where the screen just get's a funky green tint and the other where it goes black) but cannot post it since I'm a new member. Let me know if you want me to pm it to you. Does this seem more like a hardware issue or a software/firmware issue?
2) Whenever my headphones are plugged in all I get is garbled sound coming out. No matter what app I'm using or if I'm making a call. I have also noticed that since this started happening, my ear speaker simply will not work (even with the headphones unplugged). Sometimes, when I plugin headphones then unplug them, I will get no audio out of the rear speaker either. This rear speaker issue continues until I reboot the phone.
All of this is driving me nuts and I don't have the cash to replace the phone with anything comparable so I'd like to fix these issues myself if possible. Please let me know if you have ideas/resources that may help me fix this issues. Thanks.
Hi guys,
so I'm having a minor (maybe major) issue with my device. I'm (was) running the Resurrection Remix Oreo without problems. I did have an annoying problem with my proximity sensor tho (black screen when making a call, up until now I used the power button to hang up).
I tried to disable the sensor using sensor disabler from the xposed framework. After reboot I tried making a call and my phone shut off.
No LED, no falshmode, no fastboot, no vibrating after holding down power+volume up. Any idea of how to fix this?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Edit: Got this fixed by simply de- and re-connecting the battery. All good!
How did you get to the battery if I may ask?

Oops, im sorry, I overlooked your reply. You have to open the backcover to get to the battery. It's really easy, just heat the back up a little using a hairdryer, carefully lift the cover at the top using a suction cup and try to get underneath it using a plastic pick (a butter knife also does the job if you're careful). After you're in, just work your way around the back cover until it comes off.
Check this video, if something's not clear
Sorry again for the late reply!
