Why would you do the repartition flash?
I dunno what's with people and repartition, it's like once they see the option you can't look away.

Hi everyone,
First off I apologize if this is too stupid, but I am a complete newbie at this (yes, I watched the noob video before registering).
I rooted my galaxy s2 GT-I9100 using the Odin insecure kernel --> S2 root --> Odin secure kernel method. Then i installed CWM Rom manager. However it says that I do not have CWM Recovery on the phone, I cannot flash the ROM. So I downloaded recovery-clockwork-4.0.1.5-galaxys2.zip and flashed it to the phone using Odin. It shows PASSED but the phone was stuck at the boot-up screen with the yellow triangle.
I tried to flash the CF-root kernel onto the phone, which many said will solve the problem, however it seems the kernel for this phone "ZSLPE" is very rare (phone purchased in Hong Kong) and I cannot find anything with this particular kernel. Also, when I connect the phone via Odin and try to flash anything, it now gets stuck at "setting up connection", so i suppose even if i find the right kernel, it cannot be loaded onto the phone. Please help! I will be eternally grateful.

Download .tar (Odin version) version of Siyah kernel here: www.gokhanmoral.com/gm/2012/07/29/siyahkernel-s2-v3-5/
Flash the kernel via Odin.
Ps: asking questions, or even searching could have saved you all these mess because, ROOTING ICS doesn't really require flashing any kernel unlike gingerbread.

If you're on ICS you can flash siyah kernel for S2(the .tar file) and you'll get custom recovery and root at the same time. Kernel are usually universal you don't need to find the specific kernel for your rom. Only if you're using a 4.0.4 rom you have to use a 4.0.4 kernel same goes for the 4.0.3 because you're going to have bugs with the camera etc

I exited Kies, so yes I don't think it's running. Plus Odin was able to flash the CWM recovery onto the phone right before it got stuck at the yellow sign. After that it stopped working.
Should I flash the latest version of Siyah (v4.1.4) instead of the one you suggested?
Thanks again

In that case flash any stock rom you like. I gather you'll be going back to a custom rom pretty quickly in any case (?) so it doesn't matter. Whatever you do tho, do not flash a PIT.

All I can do is download a rom which is in zip format, but i know odin does not support .zip but it supports .tar, so how can i download rom in .tar, also does it matter if I flashed the rom which is not meant for my region?(I mean I dont know my phone's PDA and I am not able to decide which firmware to download since every firmware has its own specific PDA)... Yes, I'll be going back again to custom rom after I make it work...haha
AFAIK a rom for another country wont break your phone, but be careful with 4.0.4 roms because of the brickbug

Boot into download mode and flash the single .tar file through odin, flashing instructions can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
PD: if the downloaded file is .zip and not .tar, just extract the zip and u'll get the .tar

Parameter is incorrect error can be caused by either of two reasons
1 . something is wrong with the file you downloaded try re downloading
2.Kies is interfering with Odin, terminate Kies from the background by using the task manager.

Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i is one
of the most popular and best-selling
low-end Android smartphones with
nice features. The phone was
released with Android 2.2 (Froyo)
and was later upgraded to version
2.3.6 Gingerbread. Modest specs of
the this handset make it unqualified
to be updated to Ice Cream
Sandwich or Jelly Bean but there are
qualified and skilled developers out
there who have successfully, but not
buglessly, developed custom ROMs
and mods to give you some ICS and
JB flavor.
If you have recently tried a custom
ROM and now want to go back to
original Gingerbread ROM, you can
install it manually. Sometimes the
device does not start properly
because it is caught in a bootloop
and you can only see the Samsung
logo with your device name. In such
a situation, installing the official
ROM is the best solution.
Getting Prepared
Download appropriate firmware
file from above and extract the
zip to your desktop computer.
Download Odin3 1.84 tool for
multi-file installation (extract
zip): Odin_with_pit_S5830I.zip
Download Odin3 v3.07 for

Charge your phone and backup
all essential data such as

These Free Apps .
Open phone Settings>

and enable USB Debugging.
Installing Stock Gingerbread
Firmware
Turn off you phone and boot it into
Download mode: hold down
the Volume Down + Volume
Up buttons, then long press
the Power key till the your phone’s
screen turns up and you see the
Download mode screen. Now follow
the steps that applies your case.
Single File Installation:
1. If you are going to do a single
file installation, launch Odin3
v3.07.exe as administrator and
connect the phone to computer
via USB cable.
2. When the device connections is
established successfully the
ID:COM port at Odin 3.07 turns
blue.
3. Click on PDA button and select
the firmware file with .tar.md5
extension.
4. Do not mess with any other
thing in Odin and click the
“Start” button.
Multi-file Installation:
1. In case you choose to install a
multi-file firmware, run Odin3
1.84.exe as administrator and
connect your phone to PC while
it is in Download mode.
2. When the device is connected,
the ID:COM will turn yellow.
3. Make sure that “Re-Partition”,
“Auto Reboot” and “F Reset
Time” options are checked on
Odin.
4. Now click on PIT button and
select the .pit
file: cooperve_0623.pit
5. Then click the PDA button and
select the file with CODE in its
name.
6. Click Phone and select the file
with MODEM in its name.
7. Click on CSC and select the file
with CSC in its name.
8. Finally hit the “Start” button on
Odin and let the installation
finish.
The installation will take just a few
minutes and when it is done your
phone will reboot automatically. The
first boot usually takes longer time
so a little patience is required. When
the phone boots, check the firmware
version from Settings> About on
your Galaxy Ace S5830i. Enjoy the
new firmware. Cheers!

hey man,
im a newbie here, can you help me unbrick my galaxy ace s5830i , ived looked at several how to tutorials but im just haveing a problem on finding an australian stock rom for my phone! , please help , it would be a pleasure
Please help!
Hi guys,
I'm a newbie, and I decided to root my phone yesterday. Once it was rooted successfully, i tried flashing a couple of ROMS (Ace of spades & Slimbean) and both didn't work because of an rror in the file. I then downloaded Razodroid 2.5, and insatlled it (after installing CWM 5), it said installation complete and i tried to reboot my phone, but its stuck on the logo screen. I've looked at so many different tutorials to unbrick it, downloaded all the different setups needed, but the problem is that it just won't go into recovery.
If i press down all the buttons, the logo comes on once, and then just stays blank for as long as i hold the buttons down, and if i let go of the buttons the logo comes up again and stays there.
I tried doing it through ODIN, but if it won't go in to recovery mode how do i get it to work? It doesn't even connect to the computer.
Please help me, I am really upset and frustrated by this, and no longer have a phone. I am at my wits end. Please tell me how to fix this.
Hi
I can't possibly state how foolish I feel right now, but I accidently flashed my Samsung Galaxy S2 I-9100 with a Custom ROM made for the I-9100G version. As a result my phone is now only able to reach the Download mode; not even recovery mode. However on connecting with Odin the test is repeatedly FAILED. I am now left with a stuck phone which when tried to be powered up is always stuck in an incomplete boot cycle. Do we have any suggestions / ways to get this corrected, or do I have to order a new phone!??
Please help...
Thanks!

Not yet. I may actually be a perfect example of one who should NOT try rooting..complete newbie in this world!!
In case you have any suggestions how to go about doing that please do share the same.
I took a backup of the stock ROM using Nandroid and had TWRM installed.
Of course, these are of no use until I'm at least able to reach the recovery mode!!
