(Note: The Screenshots are from the 2.6.32.61-nAa-jb-06 kernel based version)
Hey, Folks!
Here is my new ROM: Gingeclair!
It is, in fact, based on my very first attempt on a ROM. Wanting to make the transition from stock to custom ROM as easy as possible
and thus creating a ROM very similar in style and feel to stock, I started working on it, also inspired by BPaul´s SonyStyle...
Now, with slightly more knowledge about android , I have been optimizing it for the best performance.
IMPORTANT:
It actually comes in two versions: One compatible with the 2.6.32.61-nAa-jb-06 kernel, and one compatible with the old nAa-14 kernel.
Even more
IMPORTANT
I haven´t had time to test the 2.6.32.61-nAa-jb-06 compatible ROM, all I know is that it boots up, has lots of RAM and a working
Screenshot option , so USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
FEATURES
-built from latest sources
-many, many stock apps
-stock Theme (thanks to BPaul)
-fast and smooth
-partially odexed
-loads of RAM
-nearly 170 mb free on /data partition
Installation:
-Download a kernel (either nAa-06 or nAa-14)
-Download the compatible ROM on to your sd
-In CWM, make a full wipe
-Flash the kernel
-Flash the Rom
-Reboot
DOWNLOADS:

Bro just tested on naa-14 your rom, sorry to say it but it's a little bit slower than other roms and very lagy specially on the Setup Wizard :S, and a bug: when typing an sms, if we go to change the language/multitap option the keyboard force close :S.
Ps: how can i keep 'only' the color of the keyboard Eclair blue if using ICS/JB themes?

Did you make a full wipe, etc.?
Silly question, but you did flash the right kernel?
As the 8th screenshot proves (smartassh3 governour), the ROM should work, it did for me, as said.
@Crazy Seed: If only the setup Wizard is laggy, it shouldn´t really matter. Any other significant lags?

Just saw that lag for now, the other lag was only in the beginning 'rom should be freshing up a bit since it just got installed' xD. But the keyboard bug is there bro.
Ps: do you know how can i increase the brightness of the phone in GB Roms?, Eclair's brightness is 2x stronger than Gb Roms

There is a way to manually re-write the brightness settings somewhere in the system partition, but I can´t remember it right now...

I tried to install your rom again doing a SEUS and then flashing the latest nAa-06 kernel and then wipe /system, /sd-ext, /data, /dalvik cache, /cahe etc. i even downloaded your rom once more just incase there was issue with earlier install. still same problem, it stops in bootanimation..i kept it that way for 10 mins.
hope you have not mistakenly named your roms incorrectly, meaning what is for nAa-14 in the filename is for nAa-06
came back to your nAa-14 rom, used it for 8 hrs yesterday haven't found any bug yet..will report as i find one..thanks for good work...

Sweet themed ROM and nice app-collection
Sweet themed ROM and nice app-collection. I have allways had a copy of Peggle om my phone (it works on GB right out of the stock ROM).
Missing apps
RecentCalls.apk (from stock-ROM should work on GB)
MimmiParts.apk
widgettimer.apk (not from stock, but a nice semc-app)
Errors
FM-radio FC
WidgetFavouritePeople has LDPI-error. Grab my fixed one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2150905
Lockscreen
I will compile Eclair lockscreen for this ROM when I get home from work today ( all PNGs are ready  )
EDIT: Messed up the XML.... not ready today
I'm almost there with the lockscreen
Top row is my mod for GDX30 (making it for Gingeclair 1.0.0 later too, haha - incl all build-files in a zip for you all), bottom row is stock screenshots from my wifes stock Eclair
Xperia Eclair Lockscreen
Here is the result so far.
It's made up from the original keyguard_screen_tab_unlock.xml from stock framework-res.apk with all the CM7 features and of course has my advanced Xperia S Lockscreen feature with swipe to media player. I havn't edited the landscape-lockscreen yet.
Moved the carrier label to the bottom
Moved alarm label to top in front of battery icon
Resized clock and date
Edited a new calendar icon with Eclair-look (based on a PNG found in the stock SemcCalendar.apk)
Just saw the AM text... LOL... will fix it soon.
Here are the build-files http://www.mediafire.com/?wcaep2aooq20mpt
It's not a flashable zip, just the package with all files and stuff neded to build the lockscreen.
OK, people, have done my homework and have a working nAa-06 compatible version on my phone right know... Will upload this evening/tomorrow (once I get home ).
To all, please thank @Emperor.dk for his work and support, as I will use it in my next version (coming approx. In 7 days)!

The base rom is a stock froyo that is the bare minimum... the smallest downloadable working rom for our x10 devices. You can also download the cm6 version or just add cm6 with a 4mb recovery zip. Want arc launcher and timescape then just flash the zip over the cm6 rom or the aosp rom. Doesn't matter wich rom you use you can keep the data from the other roms in this thread as they are all based on the same rom.
First up for grabs is the overdriveFROYO rom wich is an AOSP froyo 2.2.1 rom
this rom is bare and has been given the updated treatment of freexperia recovery, busybox and su in the xbin, all unrelated files have been excluded from bin, libs, xbin. Even though this rom is a small download of under 60mb it still has market and other basic apps included in it so you can download what ever apps you like. It also has some x10project tweaks and looks to it.. this is far from optimized but is fast, smooth, and reliable. it is NOT on a kernel and are different roms for different base bands so read and flash the correct rom for baseband, it cobratos baseband changes can be used to change the baseband on the rom to match what ever baseband you are on or like on your phone (the froyo bb change, not the cm7 bb change). Again credits to j and z for there work wich most roms are based from.
The next up for grabs is a basic CM6 rom that you can download the full rom or just update the aosp with a small 4mb install in recovery menu. Once again this rom in full is less then 60mb for a download and is fast and light.
I believe everything is working for the most part. I will update what is and is not working after you all get the pleasure of testing it out. I don't use private testers as this is xda, a development site. All of you on this site are a part of my rom development .
1. first download rom from the second post (please do not mirror)
updated fix for app installs
2. then make sure you have recovery menu installed
3. wipe cache, wipe data, wipe dalvik (in recovery)
4. install through recovery and reboot
5. wait for it to reboot or use dev tools to crash the system server
6. use and report happiness or bugs

hey buddy great job!!!
just one question:
whts the main difference between this and FreeX10?
cause FreeX10 is already clean AOSP build...
keep up ur good work!
Smaller.. less files... different settings... changed some things... kinda like freex10 on a diet... and freex10 was already small.. free x10 was 61mb with no apps.. this is 56mb w some apps... juast making the great free x10 better as i aleays thoufht it was the best froyo rom
Figured id work on a reliable daily rom to always fo back to from other roms... and i have some unfinished froyo roms i just wanted to finish up

Super-lightweight stock ROM with minimal tweaks.
Also, it's fast. Did I mention it's fast? Maybe not in benchmarks but it's very snappy and smooth in actual usage. You won't believe it unless you try it. In fact, this is the ROM that I've been using since I made it 2 months ago.
Q: "Is it just a stripped ROM?"
A: Yes, it is, but have you seen other ROMs like this? Almost every stock-based ROM out there are heavily modded, that's why I made this.
Q: "When did this ROM start?"
A: It started for the Wildfire and then X10 based on stock Eclair (released on MoDaCo only).
Screenshots (from Leaf GB r1)

Updated 16 November. Fixed problems with missing xRecovery and not booting. It was an error on my side, sorry guys!
update-Leaf-GB-r3.zip (81.4 MB / xRecovery)
Package doesn't wipe data. You can flash this over any ROM that is based on stock (ThGo2, Wolfs TW, X10x EWJet, T.E.A.M, Ultima, Blue Sparks etc.) and retain data.
Installation
1. Copy zip package to SD card
2. Boot into xRecovery
3. (OPTIONAL) For a clean install, do a full wipe
4. Flash zip package
5. Reboot

As a request, can you add the following tools...
1. Link2SD

sterling?
Audio is the same with stock SE camera.
Sterling work = good/respectable work
May have to try this ROM as it's my wife's X10, not mine, and the only issue we've found on all custom 2.3 ROMs is really quiet audio recording when using the videocamera.
Having said that, I flashed your Gingervillain port yesterday and although it has the quiet audio recording thing, the ROM is running really really well, so I may leave that on for a while yet......
Suggestions
Would it be possible to add restart, xrecovery to the power prompt menu as well as a modified battery icon and maybe if possible in any way to position the status bar on the bottom of the screen.
The reason for asking you to do the mods and not doing them myself is coz you are the dev and you may be implementing something similar already.
Thanks
I just installed it! I´ll try it and report thank you!

FPS uncap

If statusbar still doesnt show up its because the launcher, you can change that in "apex-settings" or use the trebutchet
"Thanks" are appreciated
Creds:
Also thanks to nAa and his team for great ROM and kernel!
Reloaded ICS team!
faiyyaz - for the phone.apk and mms.apk and status bar!(they are included in this zip!)
Please PM me if you experience any new bugs after flashing this zip! Please look at the avalible fixes(above the creds) and try them before posting or PM about bugs
What's done:
It have apps customized to mdpi/ldpi devices(smaller pics and so on), if im right the current apps that is following with the ROM is just ported directly from other stronger devices which make the apps take more performance because they are customized for stonger phones hope thats an answer!
BUT! I have also:
1. I have removed the old lame launcher "trebutchet" and gave you "Apex-launcher" instead(FASTER and more features, you can customize it so it will look exactly the same as trebutchet)
2.I changed the statusbar, the new one is faster and you have the ability to theme it yourself or remove the themes if you want original.
Great Work Wating for prefect ICS ROM
Thank you !!
By the way, do we have to install nAa MiniCm 3.0 first ? I'm on nAa MiniCm 2.2 currently...

Thanks for the answer, i will put both the original and your fix linked in this thread as optional statusbars

+1 without statusbar. I miss it :/
I've flashed the packages in this order:
minicm9
gapps
hotfix1 for status bar + mms.apk
this mod of nAa ics 02
It haven't the wallpaper and I can't change it
When I follow the steps to SRS audio, the device doesn't boot, it remains with the black screen
The problem is, after the reboot it worked so slow, but I've followed perfectly all the steps to flash the rom... Is probable that I've flashed bad the kernel?
Can anyone explain to me how flash this rom to the best way? I'm sorry for the bad english, I hope you have understand what I wanna say

Hmm, no idea about your problem, but i would preferr you to flash:
minicm9
this mod of nAa ics 02
gapps
hotfix1 for status bar + mms.apk
Try to reflash kernel also, flash newest kernel and update from nAa!
This is my working port of MIUI v4. Based on official Galaxy Nexus's MIUI rom and eyeballer's CM9.

Working:
All base stuff (can't really check it all, needs your tests and bug reports)
Youtube (don't forget to install adobe flash)
Root
Native miui Backup\restore
Themes
Extras:
Navigation bar (not notification bar) is activated and lowered to 28 dip.
Not working:
USB mount
Corrupted screen rotation animation (but rotation works well)
Screenshot capture (I think it is SDcard access failure)
DPI changing in build.prop
You tell me

ToLive-2.6.8-alpha2.zip
Tolive-2.6.1-alpha1.zip
Installation:
1) Copy downloaded file to SDCard
2) Flash it through recovery
3) Reboot. First boot can take long time
Warning: it will WIPE YOUR /DATA PARTITION, so don't forget about backup first
This rom is in ALPHA stage, so be tolerate to bugs.
English is not my native language, so sorry for mistakes.
Sad news Now I don't have Nook Color and this ROM will be discontinued. Sorry for that. If somebody wants to continue my work and use my rom as base, please, do it. As base I have used eyeballer's cm-9-encore-20120529-0730-opengl-unofficial and miuiandroid's Galaxy Nexus (maguro) official build. As last, I've made a small update with bigger navigation bar and rebase to 2.6.8 miui update, all bugs are the same.
Changelog:
Code:
[B]11.06.2012[/B] 2.6.8 alpha2
Last update
[B]03.06.2012[/B] 2.6.1 alpha1
Initial release

Cute
Post a video. I'd love to see how it's running. So far none of the ICS ports have been worth the lag. This one?
BTW- Thanks!

No, and in near future I don't have such plans. I like Miui statusbar more.
1. What is the default dpi for this ROM? I was running 240 on CM7.2 RC3 and seems like it is still set to that (I use LCD Resolution app with set on boot).
2. Force close when choosing Sounds in Settings.
3. Still says 2.3.7 and build 2.5.25 on the About Phone screen.
Great work on this ROM though!
For anyone wondering, this has gapps built in.
Lots of potential with this rom. Issues I have found are mentioned above with force closing going on in settings. I like the navigation bar, not being critical, but it is hard for my 55 year old eyes to see. Is 20 dpi a necessary size or could that possibly be adjusted up? Thanks for putting this together.

Thank you for feedback! About your questions:
1) I use miui default - 240. At 160 dpi launcher looks like unusable. 200 is good, by something going wrong and home app fc. And on 200 lots of market apps become incompatible.
2) I'll try to repair, thank you.
3) Interesting... I will see why it looks like this, my base was 2.6.1 (first was 2.5.25, but I start from a scratch for 2.6.1)

About navigation, no, it is not necessary to by 20 dip. Default is 48 dip, but it looks like launcher bottom bar. If I will not forget, I will make it a bit bigger in next release.
I prefer 240 on the Nook, I was surprised to see it when I first booted it.
Very cool man! Might have to try this out tonight! Have you talked to hockeyfamily737? I know he was having a hell of a time trying to get this working after the move to 4.0.4. Maybe you guys could pool resources.
Always happy to see a new rom release! Could you please tell me what is the difference between this release and the one that hockeyfamily got stuck on? I know that he was trying to do an ICS port of MIUI too and started having problems. Is this release newer than where he left off?

I've have test his rom for a long time. But my release is newer, it based on the latest miui 2.6.1 and ics 4.0.4. My rom has stock look, no tablet status bar and so on.

I installed this rom and restored some apps from titanium backup. When I fired up app2sd pro to move apps from the memory to the sd card I get the following on the "on sd card" page:
"The device does not have a real primary external storage, or the primary external storage is emulated.
Moving app to SD function may not be supported by this device."
I've tried a lot of roms since I've had my nook and this is the first time I've ever seen this. If I can't move apps to the sdcard I won't be able to use this rom.
Any ideas on what the issue might be and how to overcome it?
I see under your not working section you have - Screenshot capture (I think it is SDcard access failure). Is this a general issue in accessing the sdcard?

Yes, it is a real problem, miui think, that we don't have sdcard. I've spent last evening to find out the solution, but nothing. It is the biggest bug of the rom. I'll try to eliminate it today.
Xperia xUX.
FINAL version.
for Gingerbread 4.0.2.A.0.62
Well, hello again, fellows!
Just joking. I was improving and changing theme in a lot of ways.
In the end it looks like a nice(In my opinion at least ) hybrid of Xperia NXT interface, ICS interface and GB interface.
With some things exclusively from me.
Q: On what Android I should install this?
A: On Gingerbread 2.3.4 build 4.0.2.A.0.62. Installing on ICS will result in a bootloop.
Installing on 2.3.4 v42 is NOT recommended, as it may result in a number of random bugs, like disappearing of statusbar.
Q: How do I shot web...emm...how do I install Xperia xUX?
A: Just flash it from Recovery. It should work.
If not, do the following:
1) Wipe /system folder.
2) Do a clean install of stock Gingerbread or Repack 4PDA(I recommend installing this, because I based my mod on this ROM and because it's fastest ROM I've ever seen).
3) Start the phone normally.
4) Make sure everything's working.
5) Reboot to Recovery.
6) Install my mod.
7) It should work now.
UPD: Just tried again.
It works 100%! Installation on Stock GB works, installation on Repack 4PDA does the trick too.
So follow this instruction!
Q: What does this mod include?
A: Well...137'$ see!
-Updated graphics - your phone will look COMPLETELY different!
-Some usability improvements, like Swipe-to-Remove-Notification made by Hansip87, switch track with volume rocker made by 7OH(but ported to this mod by me, this wasn't a piece of cake, believe me)
-Awesome Xperia bootanimation.
-New charging animation
-% on battery
-Switchers in notification pulldown
-Kill apps by long-pressing BACK button(which can be turn off)
-ICS style settings.
-And some others...

okay, will try it ASAP..
is it stable for KIK Messenger?
for screenshoot, it must use ascreenshoot application or have any built in screenshoot?
What kernel you (suggested) to use?
oh
this is GB or ICS btw?

Ah man! I knew I forgot something!
It's for GB version 4.0.2.A.0.62.
Kernel? Any, as soon it's compatible with 4.0.2.A.0.62. I use Aire kernel.
KIK Messenger? If it's stable on stock 4.0.2.A.0.62, it should be stable on 4.0.2.A.0.62 with my mod. The changes in framework I've done wasn't so groundshaking to case instability in apps

You're installing it on Gingerbread 62?
I can confirm the bootloop too unfortunately, tried on .62 and .69.
The folders structure and updater-script are arranged in an odd way. Why not have only 2 folders in the zip? META-INF and system, inside system put everything and in the updater-script just put a line to mount system and flash everything at the same time, not folder by folder.
Hmm...

Hmm, I've got bootloop too. Weird. I'll have to dig deeper into this.
Freezing the thread 'till best times. I'll reupload this when I'll solve bootloop problem.
Hey, it seems like I've solved the bootloop problem!
I'll upload the new version today at the evening(according to time at Moscow) or tomorrow. More probably I'll do it tomorrow.

I once used this mod with this rom REPACK4PDA v7 and it worked.
Yeeeeeeah! Finally! It's alive! ALIVE! >
Seriously, the problem of bootloop was solved extremely easy.
It's not like the mod is corrupted, no.
It's because I forgot to sign Recovery ZIP -_-
I've tried like seven times to install this mod on stock GB, on REPACK4PDA, and it works flawless.
So please download!
Great job
after some few adjustments, this mod works on my arc.
bootlooping
on stock gingerbread .62 rom
UPDATE: Not working even after full wipe
DELETE THIS THREAD
Posted instruction which should solve bootloop problems.
I am so sorry for not doing this earlier...I swear I've got it working without bootloop on clean GB, but today I tried to re-install it...boot-f***ing loop! @*&%!
Looks like it's because I've made really significant changes in framework and android.policy.jar.
But if you follow my instruction, everything should work fine!
Thanks @Dr.Alexander_Breen
You Rock (if you suceeed)
Perfect when mixed with REPACK4PDA v7. Impressive battery life and great performance! A rom and mod worth using daily! Keep it up!! Waiting for further updates!!
