Been working on a build of CM7 - got my laptop back up and running and thought I'd tackle this. Last night I started the build and woke up this morning to this:
make: *** No rule to make target `vendor/samsung/c1-common/proprietary/BCM4330B1_002.001.003.0128.0162.hcd', needed by `out/target/product/galaxys2att/system/bin/BCM4330B1_002.001.003.0128.0162.hcd'. Stop.
Any idea how to get passed this? From the looks of it, I was close to the end of the build process
Thanks I appreciate any help...
Sort of got this resolved. Codeworkx simply stated its an issue of missing proprietary files. Ill have to copy them over which I'm not sure why they weren't in the first place...

Thread moved to General since there is no Dev work being made here... yet. If you happen to fix your issue and want to make a rom, then start a new thread in the Dev section with a link pointing to the rom.
Thank you and have a nice day.

Debugging a compiler error isn't development? Perhaps the so called development forums are becoming too focused on showing off wares, with little or no attention being paid to actually developing?
At first he was asking a question about decompiling. Since he answered his own questions, I threw it in General. Since he is not offering a rom/kernel/tool then this does not belong in the Dev section.
Thanks I guess.

Sounds like a developer question to me... perhaps the development forum should be renamed to Roms or something

Exactly, it is a question so it would belong in the Q/A sections not the development section. This stuff isn't new, read the forum rules. Quite simple to understand if you ask me.
The way I see it, its just red's opinion. He sees it fit in here then so be it, his opinion and we just have to live with it. Regardless its still all search able information.

Actually, it is not his opinion, it is xda rules. The only posts in the development boards, are posts discussing actual development. If the post is a question, it has no business being on the development board. Examples of acceptable dev topics:
Release of a new/updated rom
Release of a new/updated kernel
Release of a new/updated hardware specific patch
Release of a new/updated hardware specific app
*Technical * discussion of ongoing hardware /software development (rooting, bootloader, etc). Asking when root wil be available is not technical.
If your title for a post is in the form of a basic question, it does not belong in development, period.
I have to play devils advocate... but with the understanding that I'm doing just that and not really arguing...
I posed a similar question to Red in a PM. If I have a question asking how I can Retro fit Samsung propriatary shared libs into a new program I'm writing, or where I might find headers for those libs, where does that question go? Its certainly technical and development related... it also doesn't seem to fit in the q&a subforum (which doesn't seem to have any dev questions but is more general.)
Yet, its a question, and doesn't belong in the "development" subforum under a strict interpretation of the rules (which seems to say that the dev forum is only used to advertise mods, roms, etc)
Red suggested the q&a subforum. I disagree, but he is a moderator.
Not being sarcastic here, but perhaps we really do need new subforums for posting links to the result of development and allow the development subforums to go back to discussing that and other development. (Or vice versa) long ago when I first joined xda, discussing development was encouraged (and the primary purpose of xda-DEVELOPERS.)

I understand how you feel and would love it myself but at this point and time with the influx of Soo many non tech minded people that don't know the diff Between a normal question and a development related question that all questions are pointed to the Q&A.
So from scouring the internet, I got my hopes up looking for a Dreamcast Emulator for my lovely new Transformer Prime. But apparantly, what development there was on such software has stagnated from reasons unknown to me. So my question is wether or not there is currently a team or one willing to continue or restart this research? I'd love to be a part of such developments, but unfortunately, I don't have enough skill or talent at this point with Android Developing to go for such a cause.
Mods: I have looked for an appropriate section to put this, but alas could only come close to this. (And yes, I have read the rules threads) If I have started this thread in the wrong section, please move it.

They revived the project a week ago with an official release: http://reicast.com/
Hello,
I want to start developing for android. I have an idea for creating a Android launcher but since I'm a novice at app development and programing i have no idea how to materialize this idea. I would really appreciate some guidelines from the experienced developers. I know app development isn't easy, but i want to learn. I believe I've been using the android ecosystem for a long time, for almost all my work! its about time i gave something back to android...
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

Questions should be posted in Q&A forums, not Development forums.

I was digging around in the note 2 forums and found this nifty little secondary launcher. Been playing around with it and it works pretty well. Its almost replaced my main home launcher(apex) except for the fact that I can't add access to the apps list, or at least haven't figured out how to, to it. Has anybody else played around with it or found any other cool apps that are compatible?

I've been running Scotts DMC ROM for a while now. I see that there are some ROMs out that are based off DMF.
The little research I did said that this is a Portuguese ROM ( I guess).
Are there any known benefits/issues with the DMF base?
Thanks,
Matt
Something I've found out about DMF2, and why im staying away from it.

Does this affect custom roms built on dmf2? Dunno, but why risk it.

I would bet good money that anything to do with modifying the EFS partition is ripped out of the ROMs for our phone, it wouldn't make sense to leave that in there.
