can you find the device chipset? then look for another custom ROM for the device which same chipset

what is chipset?where u find chipset of my device? Can you help me?
fastboot a recovery image to your phone and make a nandroid
a nandroid is a backup of your stock rom
this should be kept ot your sd card always
you boot recovery and flash the nandroid if you mess up
DO NOT FLASH A ROM MADE FOR A DIFFERENT PHONE
and make google your best friend

I have a chinese android phone (brand : COLORS) which doesn't provide OTA updates and I can't find any on the internet.
Is there any way I can port a ROM to use with it? Or can I use the ROM made for exact specification but different brand (company)?
