[Q]Google Play errors across devices - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, guys.
I've been running into some weird Google Play errors that I manage to temporarily fix, but they keep returning.
For example, I sent my Nexus 4 to service, and used a totally wiped Wildfire S for a while.
Without warning, I got the "error retrieving info from server" error RPC:S-5:AEC-0. I managed to get a fix so it went away, but it returned. I got the Nexus back and the same thing is happening again. Totally clean phone, and this time I got both Error 491 and RPC:S-5:AEC-0. They go away, but they just reappear after a while. It is pretty annoying.
This has happened on stock WFS, Sony Xperia S something. Running CM10.1.2 on Nexus 4, and trying to use as daily phone.
What I can do to fix these things, properly?

No i dont have g-profile installed, why would this cause the problem or is it a possible fix?
Some members in a french forum have the same bug, it appear it's hd2tweaks who is in cause ...
Not sure at this moment
only as a few people were saying that they had this problem after installing g-profile..
Hi!
I have just gotten this problem and are wondering if this applies to the metal detector as well? I don't use g-profile so...
Will try to uninstall the metal detector now and see if the problem goes away...
I too have this problem - had it for a few weeks now but not a major issue as I don't often reboot phone, but frustrating when I do.
I had the metal detector app and BsB Tweaks installed before this started to happen, so don;t think it could be them. I did install G-alarm from ageye a while back, but I have no deleted this too as it expired - maybe this could have caused it?
any help appreciated
...also, I always send the error reports too, but they don't seem to do anything - never get a reply back or even an acknowledgement they have been received.
I have g-profile installed and get this every time i reboot the phone. Why does it appear when g-profile is installed and what does it mean/do??
Hopefully, the moderator will move this to the appropriate section, perhaps HD2 General, but I wanted to offer my input in the meantime.
@bluearmyb, which device do you have? T-Mobile US, or one of the European versions? I have the T-Mobile US HD2, and I started to get this same error soon after I started using it. I looked at the detail, and it looked like coredll.dll was the culprit. I tried removing apps and nothing seemed to fix it. I was using the stock T-Mobile US ROM.
I tried to find a pattern and the only one I found was that it would start occurring after I installed a large number of apps, in any order. I tried installing mods, then games, then other apps, and every variation thereof. I would hard reset, start installing, and rebooting after EVERY installation. It occurred for different apps at different times, but always after I installed a lot of them.
I have since installed HSPL2-1024, and have installed several ROMS. I'm currently using Miri's Elegancia colored by Steve0007. It has been flawless thus far, and I have installed all my apps. I have not received the error even once, so I'm not sure it's related to any particular app.
By the way, I think, THINK, that coredll.dll is part of the .NET Compact Framework.
I would like to know if there has been anyone, receiving this error on reboots, who is using a cooked ROM.
Not much help but maybe it can assist in identifying a pattern.
Cheers.
/J
I thought I would add what happened to me today:
I have been getting the "services.exe/coredll.dll" error message on boot-up after installing about 15 or more games simultaneously (without soft resetting each time). This error occurred right after I finally did a soft reset... and had been happening for the past 3 or 4 days.
As I installed more and more stuff to my memory card (16 Gig - Class 2 from my T-Mobile package - USA), I noticed that my HD2's screen response was pausing very slightly. Since I have an 8 Gig micro-SD Class 4 in my now retired HTC Kaiser, I decided to transfer all my stuff from the 16 Gig to 8 Gig (minus the Transformer movies). After the transfer, I still had 4 Gigs free, with a TomTom 2 Gig map installed).
Well guess what? not only is screen response as fast as it was out-of-the-box, BUT THERE IS NO LONGER THAT ANNOYING ERROR MESSAGE UPON BOOT UP.
I am now wondering if the error message I was getting might have been due to the HD2 not being able to read a needed file or files during boot-up and gave that error, due to the slower class 2 speed, or maybe due to files becoming fragmented on said SD card?... I'm not sure what it was, but it solved my problem.
If any of you still have this problem, it might be worth a try.
I am going to order a 16 Gig class 6 in the next 2 weeks, after giving this 8 Gig'er a good whirl.... I'll check back in, if this error rears its ugly head again.
By the way, I have a stock ROM, straight from T-Mobile USA.

Your post saved me a hard reset. Thank you very much!
I installed Chainfire-HD2-3D-Driver-Patch-2.0.cab, resetted, Chainfire-TG01-D3DM.cab resetted. Everything looked ok. Proceeded and installed BsB Tweaks v1.6 and since it did not asked for reset (big mistake for being lazy, should have known better to be safe), I installed HD2Tweak v1.2.0 then resetted and started having the coredll.dll/services error. At first I thought it may be due to CHT which I initially had problem days before with Sense failing to load after failing to cleanly uninstall v1.7.0. but solved it by installing v1.7.1. So I reinstalled v1.7.1. Didn't help. Then I found your post and uninstalled HD2Tweak. Problem gone. I figured perhaps I should try again. This time no error after reset. But when I did a shutdown, my HD2 couldn't power up, even the red button reset failed. Fortunately, pulling out the battery did the trick. Now monitoring for futher issues.
I started getting this yesterday, i just installed some games. After uninstalling them, i still get this error
Any help?
I got this error when I installed the 3d - driver patch for the leo. I am using a t mobile us phone with the stock rom on it. I just installed the driver and the error went away
Same with me - it seems to be the TG1 3d Patch from Chainfire - as soon as I uninstalled it the problem was gone. So far...
after reading your posts ,i want to share my experience with services.exe ,from what i have seen sometimes when i install apps that are for hd2 i get the services.exe report, but if i uninstall whatever installed before the repot than the
report is gone,i think services.exe is just an incompatibility report
I had the services.exe error too when restarting my device. Since I saw metal detector mentioned here I uninstalled it and the problem seems to be solved now.

[Q] Facebook authentication failed

Hi, i have a problem with Facebook app. When i tired sign in i get information: "Facebook authentication failed". Sometimes i see some "Need Feed", and shows this error. Sometimes too i get [104/Incorrect signature] error. How can I fix it?
Thank you in advance.

Same problem with the same phone,i'm using cyanogenmod 7.1 though. Have you managed to solve the issue since then?
The problem solved itself after a few hours. I change FB app version, change ROM, but it did not help.
have the same issue on my sgs....any suggestions?
Also have this issue on SGS2, worked fine untill 2 days ago... now I constantly receive errors from the latter versions of the application. (Authentication failure, certificate missing, signature failure)
I've gone back to version 1.7.2 (Current is 1.8.1) by downloading it through Aptoide, although it rolls back on a few features... a few working features is better than lots of unworkable features!
Note: This seems to be account specific... I can login to other accounts using version 1.8.1, just not my own. (I have tried many other methods of getting the latest version to work with my account, even as far as slamming my phone through Odin a few times)
damn it my phone has been doing this all day ive tried everything.
I started having this problem since Monday. Apparently this bug for the Facebook app has been around for years but there has yet to be a fix. Seriously need a miracle right now. Anybody have any suggestions?
Reseting phone?
*288?
Has anybody heard of this?
I have also had this problem on my Inspire 4g running Blackout ICS Incredible v3.0.0. Has anyone found a solution yet, or is it a glitch embedded within the app itself?

[Q] Unfortunately The Process Com.android.phone Has Stopped

Hello!
Had CM 10.2 latest stable version up and running, in the process of downloading all my apps and restoring some stuff from titan back up. A few things like message/phone contacts said it would require a reboot to show the changes, so I rebooted and got the error
"Unfortunately The Process Com.android.phone Has Stopped"
at the lock screen, wifi on but no phone signal. If I got the chance to hit "ok", it would close and reboot, in a non-stop loop. So common sense told me to do a wipe from recovery and reboot, so I'm back to square one with all my apps and backups.
Some google-fu told me that using titan back up on some "system" backups will cause this loop, and that was the only back up that suggested a reboot, so I have to assume it was that. I never saw this mentioned anywhere during the process, just wondering if there is a way around it? Right now I have no numbers saved or my old conversations, mostly I just want my contacts as anyone can understand. Open to any suggestions!
Google backs up everything if you let it, that's the best and fastest way.
Don't restore system apps or data.
It's better to not restore anything at all, unless you're really lazy and must.

[Q] Stock Note 4.1.2 Process com.google process.gapps has stopped

Hey all,
I was having a ton of trouble finding a ROM that would run properly on my Note so I finally found a way to get a completely stock version of AT&T's software back on the phone.
It was running great until a couple days ago, nothing changed on the phone to my knowledge, but now I'm getting errors left and right. Errors say exactly: "Unfortunately, the process com.google process.gapps has stopped" and then you hit okay and it just goes away. Happens totally randomly, and all of the Google applications that I have on the phone work fine.
A factory reset of the phone didn't resolve it either - it just seems like something just finally snapped in the phone. :/
Here's a snapshot (Sorry for the potato picture - it was sent over MMS) of the Android version and other info: http://i.imgur.com/9pEMyXw.jpg
2 options at this point from information
1. Reflash rom......wipe, wipe, wipe, make sure your process is clean.
Or
2. Go into settings
App manager
Playstore
Force close
Clear cache
Clear data
Back out
Restart playstore
It will start right back up like normal. If anything is missing, it will tell you. If nothing comes up and no more closing, your fixed.
Hope this helps

Process com.google.process.gapps has stopped starting today. LTE Version

Not sure what is causing this to my Nexus 9 lte on t-mobile. It has been working great then today this message will just not stop popping up.
I've trying going to the apps area and uninstalling play store update, clearing cache but it's tough to do since when you click ok on this message, it immediately pops right back up.
I've tried wiping dalvik and cache in recovery to no avail.
I have even nandroided back to the stock with root I created immediately after I rooted using the wugfresh program.
It boots fine, then I install the programs I need to install and update the apps. All works fine. However, when I reboot, this message comes back again and pops up immediately again once I hit the ok button.
Please help. I figured once 5.1 came out, I would just wipe and flash the 5.1 but the way this is going is pretty much rendering my tablet useless since the message is always popping up.
Please help. Thank you,
Whiteice

I had that problem and ended up doing a clean install of the factory image. Hasn't come back since.

Same here. Untouched stock 5.0.1 ROM. WiFi only tablet.
Might be worth mentioning that I got a google app update today before this started happening.
What the **** Google!!!!!!!
Tablet has important work stuff and its unusable now.
Weird. I just had the same thing happen on my MotoX (2013) yesterday, but my N9 is fine.
My MotoX is rooted, so I manually deleted all gapps from /system/app/ and /system/priv-app/ and /data/app/ then reinstalled SlimRoms minimal gapps package. I never did figure out what the exact problem was.
---update---
Rats, I spoke too soon. Got this error again on my MotoX today. Fortunately, it only seems to pop up once a day, so I can live with it for now.

mine is doing this today too. first time I've reboot in a while and it started up after the boot. im on stock with fire ice kernel. musta been a google play service.update that broke something.
I had this happen today: constantly popping up making tablet virtually useless.
tried various things, wipe cache/dalvik, reset all app preferences, and others.
This is what finally worked:
Settings->apps->all->Google play services->manage space->clear all data
This is a rooted WiFi N9 running stock 5.01
Hope this helps!
i cleared data and cache of just about everything and unistalled everything i could (tedious task trying to hit the screen before the anr pop up). i just used this as an excuse to switch from stock to AICP - i'm on wifi only. so no biggie and i got a better more customizable version of lolli. still PIA that it even happened.
This just happened to my N9 wifi this morning. It rebooted on its own (stock but rooted) then the message came up. The problem I had was that the message wouldn't stop so I couldn't access anything in the Settings. I tried the no wipe with Wug's but no change. Trying a wipe mode. What a PITA. Heading to google forums to see what's been reported.
The problem is being reported at google products forums--happening on N5 also. So far, wipe with toolkit (even using the factory reset mode) hasn't done anything. On to checking which recovery I have and do on tab reset.
Happened again this morning!!!
Tablet startup was unusually slow then i was greeted by gapps crashing over and over rendering the tablet unusable.
I'm starting to think this is caused by data corruption. Filesystem or nand problems?
Lollipop is killing lots of nexus 7 devices, I'm worried we might be next!!!

Google play services was updated to 7.3.28, see if that's the version you have. Also try clearing cache for it.
Sent From Capsule Corp.
I followed jetfin's suggestion and cleared all data and it worked!!
A Google search reveals that a lot of people have had this issue for the past couple of months.
It saddens me to see the state that android/Google are in.
Edit: looking at battery usage, I found that the dex2oat utility has been working too hard. I'm guessing the problem is with ART corrupting the play services update. Either a ROM issue or a bad update from Google!!
Works!

This worked like a charm : ) Thank you!
I had this issue a month or so ago, had to wipe Google play data and wipe cache in recovery (which took bloody ages).
