Ok i rooted my phone and unlocked it as well. I rooted only for the purpose of only getting a .08 to .3 KBps data speed in an area the is supposed to have been overhauled. I have had the damn phone replaced three times with no results. I have replaced the modem to the best one which still only gives me at best 1.66MBps. Well now when I use the hotspot.......only computer can connect!!!!! NONE OF MY OTHER 12 COMPUTERS CAN CONNECT AT ALL.....AND WHEN IT DOES IT DOES NOT GET AN IP ADDRESS AND WHEN I TRY TO TURN OFF THE HOTSPOT AND BACK ON I GET AN ERROR!!!!! I go into airplane mode and and then turn it off and I am able to connect but only this one damn computer!!!!! how in the hell can I fix this!!!!! PS. PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO SEARCH FOR THIS PROBLEM....BECAUSE I HAVE ALREADY DONE THIS AND I HAVE COME UP WITH NOTHING BUT BULL****!!!! I WANT HONEST ANSWERS TO THIS PROBLEM!!!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!

See this is what I am talking about.....I spent 5 months on the phone with AT&T and get nowhere.......been searching this site as well with no luck and every post I see is always somebody saying something rude like "REALLY????" That is not help but just plain sarcastic BS that does not help fix the problem!!! All I want is a simple answer on how to fix this problem not "REALLY?"

I'd hardly call what you posted detailed.
If you have CWM then you were already rooted. What method did you use to install CWM? What "best" modem did you install? What ROM are you using? What method did you use to unlock? Where did you look? What searches have you done? I can go on an on with the questions......
I think it best to speak in a softer/nicer tone especially when asking for help. There are a lot of people here that are more than willing to help those that have a genuine interest in learning.

I don't know an answer to your question.
I have rarely seen someone come into this forum with the attitude you are showing in a first post. It'll be interesting to see if you get any help.

Is there an all caps autodelete script running on this server? If not then we need one. When I see all caps I seem to fly into an insane rage for some reason. A character defect of mine doubtless...

All I know is I have been searching and searching on this site for over a week and there is no solution to my problem. And every post I see has pages of posts saying you did not say much or search these forums before you post!!!!!! I DID SEARCH!!!!!! AND I WANTED TO STATE RIGHT OFF.......THAT YOU SHOULD SEARCH!!!!!!! I DID THAT!!!!! I do not know what more you want me to explain!!!!
1. Rooted my phone using ODIN with the ClockworkMod-Recovery_5.0.2.3
2. Installed Superuser-3.0.7
3. Unlocked my phone with Galaxy S Unlock", the author is "Helroz"
4. After this I get the triangle and Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 on the splash screen.
5. Tried every modem and the best one seems to UCLC2 Modem.
6. After I did all this one one computer can hookup to my hotspot.
7. When a second computer tries to hookup.....First computer losses connection and second one never connects to get an IP address.
8. When you turn off the Hotspot it give you a message "ERROR"
9. In order to get reconnected I have to turn on airplane modes and then off and then the first computer can connect again.
I am just sooooo upset with this ****!!!!! Been fighting AT&T for 5 months with no results. And even with all the modems I have tried I get no more speed then at most times of .3 to .7kbps!!! I can't even download all the original files to restore completely to stock because I am getting about an 80% packet loss!!!!! And the download always fails anywhere from 50 to 70% I am so frustrated with this I am about to take a sledge hammer to this phone and tell AT&T to stick their network where the sun don't shine!!!

K, i'm going to bite my tongue for a bit and try to help you. But you really are sounding like a demanding vulgar little child. So please tone it down and sound grateful so some smarter people might be tempted to help you solve your issue.
What ROM are you using? What security protocol are you using? I'm going to assume you're using Windows 7 on all your machines.... What are you setting as your network location? Home? Work? Public?
Have you already tried the basics.... wiping cache, wiping davlik, fix permission? Have you done a factory reset?

Just to start out.......I am not a demanding vulgar little child..........STOP WITH THE BS........I Happen to be a CCDE (Cisco Certified Design Expert) I know what I am doing and have the basic knowledge of phones!!!! I did all the basic stuff. I am very tired I have been dealing AT&T for months, I have been on this forum for days!!!! And I work 16 to 18 hours a day!!!!! And all I want is to be able to connect more then one computer on my hotspot....THAT IS ALL!!!! I AM COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM!!!!! And I may have sounded vulgar starting this post.....but I want to lay the thread out properly by saying........I am not a noobie, I don't want post saying did you search......did you do the basics.....I already did that!!!!!
Now for the questions to your answer.....I have not changed the rom....it is the stock rom.
2. I turned off all security at this point to make sure that was not the problem.
3. All my computers are running xp as I would never put windows 7 on my machine.
And as for network location I have know idea what you mean by that.......as I have changed NOTHING except installed CWM and the unlock program. I also flashed the phone with all the modems to see what gave me the best speed which was the UCLC2.
4. I restored the efs folder and relocked the phone. Still have the same problem.
5. I just flashed the kernel back to stock and it is still doing the same problem!!

And? So you're good at taking tests. Does that garner you a certain level of respect? My 9yr old can set up a network. I could care less if you're exhausted in dealing with this issue. grow up and learn how to be RESPECTFUL when asking VOLUNTEERS for help....just stop yelling at everyone and you will go a hell of a lot further and people wont troll your posts....
I'm logging in to the site via chrome just so I can report this thread.
Dude, do you have PE problems? Is that the reason for your need to type in caps? To tell people you are a "hot shot"¿ I don't care that you set up voip networks. I care that you are an asshole who types in caps, demands things like a 5yr old and throws around certificate like it's something we should all bow down to. Get over yourself. You may know a ton about networks,I may know a ton about micro architecture (I don't), but that means NOTHING here. Ask and you shall receive. Demand and you shall be flamed.
Anyway, awaiting penalties for this post and grabbing another beer.

get it right.....i came in here asking for help.........and not hearing people say......like i see on hundreds of threads on here to do a search.......and people should not do this or that.........i explicitly said NOT TO DO THIS!!!!!! I ONLY WANTED SOLUTIONS. AND NOT ONE OF YOU DID THAT!!!! YOU IMMEDIATELY WENT ON YOUR **** ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE SHOULD NOT DO....THIS IS NOT A HELP DESK.........THAT IS WHY PROBABLY NONE OF YOU WORK FOR A COMPANY LIKE CISCO!!! IF I WAS ON A CISCO FORUM AND SOMEBODY DID WHAT I DID......I OBVIOUSLY WOULD HAVE RECOGNIZED THAT THIS PERSON IS FRUSTRATED EXHAUSTED ALL OTHER AVENUES AND NEED HELP.
I SURE AS HELL WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ON MY HIGH SENIOR MEMBERS HORSE AND YOU ARE RUDE, YOU ARE VULGAR!!! iI WOULD HAVE SAID, "HOW CAN I HELP YOU AND SINCE YOU SAID, "DON'T ASK ME IF A SEARCHED THE FORUMS.....OR DID THE BASIC STUFF." I WOULD HAVE IMMEDIATELY SAID TO THE TECHNICAL STUFF NOT WHAT ANY OF YOU PEOPLE DID YOU JUST WENT STR8 TO COMPLAINING, WHINING, *****ING AND NOT ONE SINGLE ONE OF YOU DOVE IN AND WENT STR8 TO THE PROBLEM. SO YOU TELL ME WHO IS ON THEIR HIGH EFING HORSES??????
THIS IS WHY THERE ARE THREADS WITH 20, 30, 500 PAGES OF REPLIES!!!!! BECAUSE YOU ARE WORRIED TO THINK YOU ARE MOSTLY ALL KINGS AND RULERS OF THE THRONE!!!! GET OF YOUR PEDESTAL!!!!
NONE OF THIS CRAP HAPPENS ON CISCO'S FORUMS BECAUSE WE ARE ABOUT THE SOLUTION AND NOT ABOUT GIVING A RESPONSE THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO ABOUT THE SOLUTION!!!
SO SAY WHAT YOU WANT.........BUT THIS THREAD PROVES THAT!!!!!! MOST OF YOU THINK YOU ARE BETTER THEN ANYONE ELSE.....YOU ARE NOT!!!
AGAIN THANKS FOR THE PERSON THAT HELPED ME AND EVERYBODY ELSE I WILL NOT DIGNIFY YOUR BS REPLIES WITH ANYMORE REPLIES.
AND AGAIN THANKS..........YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE......IF I NEED ANY OTHER HELP I WILL PM YOU BACK.
Hi Everyone,
I just got my Galaxy S2 back, model number GT-19100M. I had sent it in to get it unlocked, the sim and the carrier unlock. I assume that this would be rooted to have accomplished this?
They had an issue unlocking the carrier and had to reflash the phone to gingerbread before they were able to unlock the carrier. So I got it baack and the version is 4.0.3 now.
So I did some googling about how to tell if it was rooted. Now, from my understanding that to flash the phone with a rom it would have to be rooted. So I came across about using Root Checker, So i installed it and it said it wasnt rooted, I then installed ConnectBot and the thread (not from here) said that if a prompt came up with a # then it meant it was rooted, and if it came up with a $ at the prompt then it wasnt rooted. Low and behold it showed a $.
So all in all how do I tell if it was rooted? It cost me 50$ and well over a week and a half to get it back. So were the two applications correct and if not what is the right way to tell if it was rooted or is there something I should notice on the phone?
Thanks for any and all help on this situation.

1) u can check ur kernel and see.
2) also u can check for an app SuperSU or Superuser's presence in app drawer, if present ur phone is rooted else no.
3) u can install some apps like root explorer/browser etc and see, since they wrk only with root prievilage

Hi thanks for the reply,
I downloaded and ran SuperSu and got this pop up "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!". So then I downloaded Root Browser Lite, i opened it up and got a list of folders. So now I'm confused, I have SuperSU saying that there is a problem, and with Root Browser Lite it runs and gives me a list of folders.
My kernel version is as follows: 3.0.15-I9100MUGLD3-CL377577 [email protected] #3
From my understanding and please correct me if i am wrong, but to do both unlocks (sim and carrier) that it needs to be rooted?
Before I handed the phone over to the computer store to unlock it, I had asked if it would be rooted and they said yes, but i didnt copy all the stuff in the about phone, but I was supplied with my unlock code to use when i pop a different sim in it.
Also, when I looked at the messages when i got it back that there was a text from rogers and the carrier that i was using was Virgin, so it looks as though it was properly unlocked.
I dont have anyone near me at the moment with a different carrier sim card (My girlfriend uses Telus, I suppose I could pop hers in but she might throw a fit and think that I could screw her iphone up lol)
So what would be my next plan of action?
Thanks for your reply

After thinking for a moment, this does look like the kernel that was previously on it, I had played around with it before hand and I remember some things and the kernel looks familiar..
Well I believe you are correct that they reflashed it with the stock rom...Why they would do that is beyond me lol.
So I guess I am going to start rooting this on my own, would you please direct me to rooting this model? I know I can search this forum but I have done that before and noticed different ways of doing it. I just want to make sure that i do this properly using the proper thread and if i can do this properly then Im going to start on the path to rooting my S3 , So i guess my s2 is my practice
I do appreciate your replies and help with my situation

nothing is confusing as long as u read and understand carefully what has been specified in those rooting method threads.
but still i would suggest u simply keep out of this rooting thing, if ur not sure about the same and unable to understand things about rooting properly

I have read the rooting methods, and again reading it slower, I am not sure about this busybox thing, i think where i am getting confused because it doesnt seem to pop out to me saying if its ok to uninstall busybox and if i did would it still be rooted. I really dont some program running in the background to keep it rooted.
I have been writing software for over 5 years and i figured that this would be a walk in the park. Sit me infront of visual studio and i am a wiz with c#/Asp and sql, but with this i feel like complete noob and i am in actuality. Which is irritating me.
The reason behind having the desire to root this phone is because it should have been done when i got it unlocked 2) because with a rooted phone i have more options and control over this phone 3) because i dont know how and for being able to program that i should be able to do this. It seems like a different ball game and in all honesty knowledge is power and what i dont know how so it is a need to know how to do it. regardless if i wreck the phone, trial by fire i suppose. I cant learn if i dont attempt it and make the mistakes. When you learn how to do something and have come across making mistakes you tend to keep the knowledge more and appreciate what is learned.
Sorry, I got on my soap box on trying to justify doing this lol. But I do appreciate what you suggest. But Im going to try it and hopefully bring me out of my noob status lol.
i will keep you posted
Its not rocket science and what a load of rubbish about doing things wrong and wrecking your phone in order to learn.
What you do is read about other clowns wrecking their phones and dont do what they done-so you learn without any risk.
Just get rooted for now so you can use them fancy apps to get more control over you phone.Read about brickbug and look at some of the rom threads and also learn about cwm and odin.

Forgive me for using the wrong words, I did not say to do things wrong and wreaking my phone. I should have phrased that differently, IF i do it wrong and wreck it somehow then it is a lessoned learned.I'm in no way out to wreck my phone, thats ridiculous. I have made many mistakes during programming that I have learned and remembered what not to do, some people learn the hard way to retain what they did wrong and not to repeat it. Not everyone learns the same way.
I completely understand about reading how others wreck their phone so i can learn without risk, and to read up on odin and brickbug, which is blatantly obvious.
As for fancy apps, you are kidding right? you think i want to root my phone to use fancy apps? I think not. i'm not some kid that likes shiney new things and to be the one to say "look what i got". That comment was utter disrespect. Maybe instead of trying to make me look like a dumbass you could be a little more helpful and not be so blantantly obvious on what i should do, which i already have started doing until i had to reply this.
Is this how you treat everyone that is starting to learn something new? You make obvious statements, mock by saying what isnt rocket science? I highly doubt that when you started doing this that you werent some dumbass in the beginning.
I appreciate the person who was replying to my questions and pointing me in the right direction, he was helpful. You were just being a ****. you know on forums dealing with c#/asp.net I dont act like you do to questions or statements that i feel are silly, especially to people just starting out. You must have been treated the way you treated me when you first started out, how many times did you feel like a dumbass from people that knew what they were talking about? probably still to this day in one way or another you are treated like an idiot. So instead of acting the way you were and still are treated, try acting decent and helpful and not counter-active.

Thanks for the praise.....
I ask myself every day....is rooting really that difficult?.Is this xda or facebook?.Whats with "life stories" included in posts?.Have all them guys that created stickies/guides wasted their time cos noobs/donks like you dont read them?.
And guys like Sun90 are helpful and intelligent....theyve helped me out before.

I hope that there isn't more people acting like you did towards me to other people, if so then this isnt a place to learn.

hey buddy chill for now , in XDA u will face all sort of people, which is quite common ma8.
as for as ur 'Busybox' thing is concern, this is what it means.
BusyBox is a software application that provides many standard Unix tools, much like the larger (but more capable) GNU Core Utilities. BusyBox is designed to be a small executable for use with the Linux kernel, which makes it ideal for use with embedded devices. It has been self-dubbed "The Swiss Army Knife of Embedded Linux".
it will provide u all necessary things to have access to root of ur phone, while SuperSU or Superuser grants necessary permissions to all those apps which need 'Root Access' to perform efficiently.
if u remove busybox then u will loose root access to ur phone for sure.
hope the above things ar clear for u for now

Hi Sun90,
You are absolutely right when it comes to types of people that I wil come across in this forum or any other forum for that matter, I just didnt expect someone to start flaming right off the bat.
Thank you for the explaination on 'BusyBox', I understand what you are saying. My concern was that I didnt want to have to rely on something that had to be constantly running on my phone to ensure that it stays rooted. I gather from what you said about buysbox that its just tools, and not something that constantly runs. The swiss army metaphor, makes sense.
I have searched through these forums and somethings that may be obvious and cut and dry to people that have done this, isnt always the case to everyone else. I get left with many questions after reading threads. I have read many threads here and throughout online on rooting. Some guides are easy, they tell you how but never the 'why'.
I have heard alot about odin, and I have read things where i plug my phone in and run a 'runme.bat' that does it all but explain why.
Today I'm going to be reading deeper on Odin and Clockworkmod and trying to find the correct secure and unsecure kernel. I hope to run across more people like you that actually are here to help and not wanting to show how much they know by being condescending to make themselves feel better about themselves.
In the end, for me, its not enough to do it but to know the whys behind it. Thank you for your patience and the help.

Well I just downloaded CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEN_LP7-v5.4-CWM5.zip, and Odin3-ver3.5 and am about to follow Chainfire's thread with its step by step guide, i found his guide to be pretty insightful. Another thing I got confused on was the difference between I1900, I1900M and I found out that the only difference between the 2 was nothing. One question though, after i root the phone and if i ever do a factory reset on it does it stay rooted or do I have to do the process over, likewise with busy box.
I did copy down what version my phone is running if something goes wrong...
I'll post back soon with either success or failure.

You won't lose root if you factory reset. Only way to unroot is to flash stock firmware again.

I have messed up really bad and I dont know what to do, here is what happend
I was using cyanogenmod 10 for the past 2 months and now wanted to sell my I9100G, so i decided to revert it back to stock ICS, i didnt have an nedroid back and also lost the usb cable provided with the device
I tried odin by connecting my phone using a normal usb cable to the PC but odin wont work as expected
I then tried installing mobile odin pro and selected the option to Wipe data, Wide Delvik Cache and also Flash Firmware which rebooted the device(it said it will reboot in download mode)
After that I am stuck on the initial Samsung logo that comes before the Cyanogen logo and the phone wont boot into either Recovery mode or Download mode.
I am confused and scared, can someone help please?
Use a USB JIG to get into download mode, connect ODIN and flash Stock ROM
do you mean that I have bricked my phone :crying:, if so then I have to find a mobile shop as usb jigs are not a common thing in this part of the world
Theres a thread that shows peoples location that can give you a shot of a jig if you need it in a hurry.

if you cant help then being a sarcastic moron is no good to me and I didnt as for a place or person to give me USB Jig so please read the comment carefully before passing a stupid comment
Hey,maybe a jig costs a months wages where you come from.
Maybe just "jog on" and find one and I really, really hope your phone isnt bricked.
The title of the thread says it all - "I messed up". Your report of what happened in your first post is so vague it's almost a joke. People are suggesting you get a jig because nobody who has read this thread actually has the first idea what you've done. Maybe a jig will help, maybe it won't, hopefully it won't and people like you who use XDA as their own personal answer machine because they're too lazy to spend 10 minutes researching ways to fix their will no longer be a problem on this site.
There actually is a thread somewhere with people who have jigs willing to lend them to other people in the vacinity but with your attitude the only thing anyone is going to want to lend you is a middle finger and a slammed door.
Honestly I don't care about anyones bricked phone on this forum but at least if you give a good explanation of what happened and reply nicely I'll try and help. People who write stupid posts I make fun of but people who insult other members because they gave an answer they don't like, I hope your phone is bricked.

dont jump to conclusions without using your brains mate, first off I did research and almost every method advised me to use ODIN, but I was already on cyanogen and It does not let your phone get recognized via USB so it was not working, I tried recovery method but it was not working as well so after reading I used Mobile oden which caused the issue.
I cannot possibly go through over 300 pages of most of the topics in order to get to my specific problem and it WAS specific.
As for the insult I DID NOT insult the member first, my only question in the second post was whether my phone was bricked or not and the rest was just my thoughts not a question so he had no right to insult me.
I feel really bad for a forum when its Senior members leave stupid comments like " I hope your phone is bricked " rather then trying to help desperate noobs

Since you're phone does boot atleast we can confirm that it's a soft brick, and since you can't access download mode or recovery by the normal method you have no other choice than to force download mode via usb jig, I am sorry mate but you have no other choice than this or the service center, also there are several excellent guides on making a usb jig its quite easy and if you're scared to do it ask your nearest electronic shop, and if you make it to the download mode just be calm and flash it with a stock rom, if any boot loop occurs perform a wipe and factory reset from the recovery, and don't worry about bricking your phone but be very careful about flashing via odin, use a perfectly good cable which I am sure you can find, a faulty cable during flashing will give you a hard brick and only a motherboard replacement will be your option which is quite expensive. Good luck and hope you recover from your disaster.
And please be careful to get firmware specific to I9100G, as this is I9100 international version forum. Also are you sure that you used I9100G firmware as this problem occurs for people flashing the wrong firmware.

I think, he thought, you were being sarcastic when you suggested him to search for a forum for locating people with usb jigs, it's a noobs misunderstanding, and after all being senior members we should tell him it's a misunderstanding and make him feel sorry for his mistake, instead of cursing and agitating him more, you know people get desperate when they screw up some expensive piece of equipment, but still the OP jumping to conclusions was very wrong.

First please read XDA rules #1 & #15. There is a Q&A both here and in the device forum where I quickly searched and found this post on how to restore your phone to stock.
Your phones forum is really the best place to ask such a specific question. Ranting in the General Discussion/General section will only get you generalities.
good luck with your phone. Ya shulda boughta SONY

Here is a guide I have put together for the VZW Samsung SCH-I605 Galaxy Note II
------------------
This guide contains 5 sections:
Section 1: How to Root/ Return to Stock 4.1.1 Jelly Bean coming from any rom with Odin
--------------------
Section 1b: How to return to stock 4.1.1 Jelly Bean coming from any rom with Odin
Step 1: Download and install Odin3 from section 1a if you have not already done so.
Step 2: Download this stock VRALJB image and pit file to a windows based pc.
Folks that have accepted the L4 OTA can not use the VRALJB image at this time...for now use Root66 from section 1a.
Official VRALJB 4.1.1 12/9/12- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040264(This will wipe data and return your device to factory stock like the day you purchased the device. Also Unlocked and Locked devices may use this to return to Factory Stock conditions!)
SCH-I605_16gb.Pit- http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?05cj895zu3tls7z
Step 3: Power device off, hold the volume down/home/power keys until you see a yellow triangle, then press the volume up key to access "odin or download mode".
Step 4: Open Odin and connect the oem usb cable from pc to device. The driver should automatically install( it did for me on windows 7 64bit). There should also be a "comport number" in upper left hand corner of Odin indicating communication between the pc & device.
Step 5: Click on the pit function of Odin and select the sch-i605-16gb.pit file.
Step 6: Click on the PDA function of Odin. Select the stock VRALJB image you downloaded in step 1, then select start. This operation should take less than 8 minutes before Odin will say pass/reset.
Step 7: Your device should boot back up into factory stock 4.1.1 android!

Google wallet hack has nothing to do with triangle notification and 4G signal being dropped. You probably rooted wrong. If I were you, I'll just keep my original note2 and figure out to clear the mess. There is always solution to this and every methods are currently workable.

if someone could help me out with this it would be a REALLY big help to me thank you to anyone who reads this and an even bigger thank you to the person(s) who help.
Why would you want to get rid of CyanogenMod? It's quite possibly the best thing to ever happen to phones.
Especially if you're running cm10.1, it's 4.2.2

There's a thread for the phone you have in this forum; look in the Straight Talk thread and you'll find the help you need.

Why would you want to get rid of CyanogenMod? It's quite possibly the best thing to ever happen to phones.
Especially if you're running cm10.1, it's 4.2.2

I want to get rid of it cuz I have no idea what is what it can do or why it's even there I'm not a big fan of mods and if I were to mod anything i would do an extreme amount of research of how to install and uninstall with cm I have no idea what's going on

It's literally two threads down from this one. I'm sure you can find it.

You want to get rid of it? Easy
Option 1: return it to seller, demand s/he send you another one with pure stock firmware on it, not a custom one or request for the refund.
Option 2: reverse back to stock (from CM) yourself. Since you're here, you should have read anyway, so read up those threads especially the stickies and DIY.

The other posters Actually have given you good advice, and it appears that they have pointed you to the place to answer your question! Really!
It sounds like you have a modified Straight Talk phone (please note that the ATT version is I777 and the ST version is S959G. It would be interesting to know whether you have an I777s or S959G).
IF you have an S959G, then your best bet is to check the thread posted down below as Phalanx and the others have mentioned --it's literally below the post you created (several posts below now, just look for the title "Straight Talk SGS2- SGH-S959G" (<- or click on these "straight talk" words)
It may seem frustrating to get a phone that is customized, and right now you just want a phone; However, you actually have one of the nicest and newest roms available for this type of phone!
IF your phone boots CM10.1 and you have the normal android screens, then you have everything that the ST or AT&T company would provide on a "normal" phone, but without some of the junk and advertising that often infects our phones! Try it out! The interface is not that much different from "stock."
Still, if you don't like your phone that way, YOU can fix it and it is not really hard, but just takes some reading and patience to gain understanding of the techniques and processes (learning the principles also is interesting! :laugh
But it will take you at least a few hours of reading, and a bit patience to scan through the Straight Talk links and pages. If you do that you'll see others who have your issue, and also others who turned the issue around to make it a plus!
A modified phone is more of a commitment than a stock phone -but it returns more to the user! Especially if you want to adjust it, enhance it, or appreciate it, you have to put in time.
If that's not for you -perhaps turn it around on ebay. But a working CM10.1 on a Galaxy S2 is a good machine!
Good Luck
