Anyone have any idea which Verizon phone seems to have the 'best' developer support? I am changing jobs and as such, my phone number is moving to their corporate plan which is Verizon. So which Droid device can I count on having a good group like was in here? I looked through a couple
Razr Maxx, Nexus, Bionic.
Don't know if anyone knows anything about that, but thought I'd ask. Don't want to get a phone and find that dev has died on it.
Ohhhh. Just noticed Verizon is getting the S3. Going to have to go read up in the S3 forum to see what the reviews are. I love my s2.
I know you want a straight answer but come on dude this thread really doesn't belong here you just have to look for yourself

A lot of people have been on here a lot longer than me. I'm not looking for a "use this Rom on this Phone cause it's the best" answer. I'm looking for people who know other dev's and can say that "yea, the Nexus has a good group of Dev's" Or the Razr seems to be losing steam in Development.
Not looking for a straight answer, just opinions of what people know about other phones and the dev's working them if they know it.
Nexus phones usually do have better support but this honestly does have nothing to do with this phone. I've seen these threads closed all the time.

Thanks for the info. I'll let Red close this if he wants to. Otherwise, others please post up if you know anything about those phones. I'm on a tight time schedule so if I can eliminate a lot of time wasted researching things with info from people I trust then I will.
This thread is useless. And doesn't belong in ATT GALAXY S II forums. Regardless of your time schedule its not a good enough excuse to post this here. Go look for yourself. Pm people. Ask questions in the forums for the phone u want to get.

You know, there are other forums that may be better suited to ask about Verizon phones...

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post. I tried searching the net and this forum for answers but can't find any so I'm trying my luck here. The problem with the phone is it is from korea and I'm from the philippines. Function wise there is nothing wrong except that when anyone sends me an sms the phone does not recognize the sender when the sender is already added to my contacts. When I try calling my phone using the same phone I use to send an sms it can recognize the caller from my contacts. What is the problem? how do i solve this?
Try the GT-I9100 Q&A forum.

Actually the LTE is not an i9100. Unless I'm wrong here, the LTE version came out a couple months ago in Canada and I haven't seen a forum for it yet. Questions on it have surfaced on several different forums.

It isn't but for awhile they had a thread in the I9100 section for cm9/10 I think dsixda has moved to another device though.

I know this is old, but I want to know the same question. I got my phone in Korea, its listed as shv-e120l. I have the same texting issue, and
it can only manage "g" (that's what the icon displays) not 4g speeds which I've tested at only 48kbps.
I think I should flash an ATT firmware, but after several days of searching (seriously) I don't know if I'm going to brick my phone. Help please!!:crying:

I'm due for a new phone on October 1st through sprint, and I already have my mind set on the galaxy s3.
Although after looking through the forum I see that there's a bunch of roms. Which is a good thing, except none of them are marked as to which carrier they work for (that I've seen.)
So without having to ask each thread, is there something that I'm missing? Basically, is there some way of telling which one will work with which carrier?
I'm coming from the evo that was a sprint only phone. So it was pretty simple in that there was no choosing.
Thank you,

Considering you're in the i9300 forum, what do you think? All ROMs made for the i9300 will work for all kinds of i9300, and there's only two types of the i9300, the 16GB model and the 32GB model.

I'm using tapatalk and thought I was in the right place. Until I started seeing roms for different countries, I got a little skeptical.
I had a feeling that it was a simple answer, I just wanted to be sure. Lol

The only thing that "should" differ country-wise would be localization and language. Nothing else.
I have a Verizon Samsung GS4,
Model: sch-1200
Broadband Version:1200VRBME1
Build #: JZO54K.
Also, it may be a developer model as it has 'Developer Options' in the Settings menu.
My question is: can I root this phone without a pc? If so how?
Thank you ever so kindly.
FYI, for some reason every time I attempt to search my browser goes haywire. I've pored over as many posts
as I can with no luck. Need to push on. If this has already been answered, please send me the post. Again
thanks for your time.
Ok. I see some other threads, but they're not for the Verizon GS4.
Are you sure you have a galaxy s4 the model number and firmware version you listed are for a galaxy stellar. If it is a stellar you have you would be better off posting in the corresponding forum, if there is one. Also its probably not a developer model as most, if not all android phones have the option to enable developer settings.

Yes. It is a Stellar. I thought GS4 and Stellar were the same thing. Thanks for the clarification. And to that, I am in the wrong forum. Is there one for me? I will repost there if so. Thank you.
I dont think there is a sub forum for that device here. I think there is one at rootzwiki tho.

Hey thanks for the link. Unfortunately, it didn't answer my question. Have any ideas?
I checked a few guides and all of them needed a pc to do it. More often then not youll need one. Ive only had one device I didnt need a pc for and it was an acer tablet.

Dude who posted the question says he's got Verizon on a stellar. Whether it's a 1200 I don' t know, but it looks like no pc is necessary. Thanks much!
Look this thing won't let me put the darn links in. Can I send them in a private reply?

What about motochoper method? Anyone?
Right now we only have carrier specific threads for development. While those are needed and appreciated I am finding it extremely difficult to learn or locate carrier specific information on xda. The threads for general, Q&A, accessories, and themes are crossing over each other and its like wading thru a swamp of information. I am personally on sprint and I have found myself ending up in threads that have nothing to do with sprint hoping to find fixes or ideas that dont even apply to my model. Frankly, its very frustrating. I can from the photon, and my wife has the htc one. I have used xda for those models in the past, and still do, and can find informatikn specific to my carrier easily.
Can I use search? Sure I worked in the web search industry for over a decade but that doesnt help if I can choose a specific category (that category in this case being sprint). So searching for info in the lg g2 threads as they are now is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
I know there are other people who must feel the same as I do about this. Id simply like my experience in the lg g2 forums to be as good as it is in other places on xda. I dont know why the g2 forums were set up like this, but frankly its a nightmare content wise. It would also help development further by breaking out info carrier by carrier.
Mods, we need carrier specific forums for the g2. Please add yourself to this post of you feel the same way. Those that dont can start a different thread to leave things the same as they are now. This if for those that feel doing this would improve their g2 experience on xda.
Blame LG for this fragmentation nightmare. ...never and i mean never had there been so many variants. ...its sickening

Not really. There's a specific GS3 forum for each variant, and other Samsung devices. XDA probably doesn't realize LG has a decent size customer base that use these forums so they don't give them the attention they deserve.
Theres fragmentation with every device specific to each carrier to one extent or another. Im not talking about throwing blame for this reason or that reason. However, I do want people to speak up on this so that XDA will address and fix the LG G2 forums. I spent time in the htc one forums for my wifes phone tonight and because its sprint specific I found what I needed in minutes. I cannot do that with the LG side of XDA. Its a mess. I dont know how developers can even follow things enough to help anyone or keep track of things.
This disorganizatikn gives me a new level of respect for them and the craziness they deal with to help the average schmoe like me.
Please this is much needed, all Samsung devices and other as well have carrier specific threads. LG G2 section is a huge mess.

You should have included a poll so the mods can have some numbers to look at to see how many people would like it split into carrier specific threads.
I didnt think about a poll, but Im hoping that people will take the time to chime in here if nothing else just to show support for the idea by saying "Yes, I want to have carrier specific threads as well!"
Poll created. Please add you vote!
I'd love to have a specific section for the vzw g2. It'd make it so much easier to find things and be able to post problems/questions specifically about the Verizon version.

Seems like Sprint has a large user base here. Didn't think this device was that popular on Sprint. It's actually nice to see more users on Sprint.
I'll add my +1 here but we may have to go to the dedicated forum request thread and post there.

I already said this in a thread that got deleted... but, and no offense to anyone, but I'm personally sick of weeding through the broken English posts on here. I'd really like a Verizon specific forum, like Android central does. I've never dealt with a phone that was combined like this, and some of these posts just make me cringe lol
