Xperia Ray - Proximity sensor - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi all,
I have a couple of issues with the my proximity sensor:
1) When I put my Ray to sleep mode, sometimes the screen doesn't turn back on, it stays black until I give it 5-10 seconds before it can be turned back on with the Power/Home button
2) This issue is related to Jelly Dream rom only, most of the times, it feels as though the proximity sensor is always ON because when I hover my finger over the proximity sensor, the screen dims and as soon as I move my finger away from the sensor, the screen goes back to normal brightness level
Help will be appreciated

Can't help you about first question, but about the second one - if the light dims when you move your finger close the place where the sensors are this is completely normal (light and proximity sensor are close to one another so you're probably blocking the light sensor and thus causing the phone the turn the brightness down).

[Q] [q] proxity sensor

As we all know by now, "The HD2 includes a variety of sensors including a Proximity Sensor that is used to prevent false screen touches when the phone is picked up to answer or make a call. A Light Sensor automatically adjusts the brightness of the display..."
The subject matter of this thread is the Proximity Sensor, meaning, when you receive a call and put the phone to your ear, the screen supposed to turn off so you won't accidentally hang up or open other application by touching the screen with your face. The Proximity Sensor of my phone worked perfectly. However, couple of days ago the Proximity Sensor stopped functioning and I'm wonder what could have caused that. I'm picking up the phone, talk on the phone and the screen is fully lit. I remember that, one day, I calibrated the screen... Could that have been the cause?
Anyway, does anyone know how to turn the Proximity Sensor on or, if it is on, how to make it work properly?
Thank you.

[Q] Light sensor on the X10?

Hello,
If I look in the sensors section of "Android System Info", it doesn't list a light sensor (I believe that the light sensor is used to dim the screen when it's dark). The thing is, I've seen the screen dim by itself before. If I put my hand on top of the phone (where the proximity sensor is located... I think...), the screen dims. If I remove my hand, the screen gets brighter.
Does the X10 have a light sensor or not? Is it possible that the light sensor is "hardwired" to the screen without "passing" through the OS to dim the screen?
The light sensor on my X10 is to the left of the earpiece. To the right are the proximity sensor and further right is the notification led.

Since you can disable it in the settings, i don't think it's hardwired.

Good point, I don't understand why android system info cannot see it though. Same goes for the service menu, it seems it's the only sensor in there that cannot be tested.

Xperia Sola Screen never turns off .54 , speedy 5.5

Hi,
I've strange issue.
I've Xperia Sola .54 UB, kernel Speedy 5.5 but this issue happens on every FW/kernel.
When I cover ambient light sensor (or when it's very dark in room) my screen never turns off. It's not proximity sensor. I've tried changing settings in display menu but my screen never turns off (for e.g. when it's in pocket).
When the light sensor is not covered everything is fine.
This problem is very annoying. When I forgot to press the lock button I wake up with week battery (about - 40% per night).
Maybe someone know solution.

Red light near earpiece (probably Proximity Switch ON)

Hello from Indonesia. I'm user of Xperia X single SIM which use the newest version of Poison ROM based Nougat 7.1.1. I have a little problem like this thread https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xper...sor-when-3g-4g-data-transmission/td-p/1146470 but the difference is the red light in my phone always ON both when data transmission/WiFI ON and OFF. The red light OFF when I locked this phone, and when I unlock this phone using fingerprint or press power button, suddenly the red light ON. I have the adaptive brightness screen turned off before. Anyone can fix this problem? Thank you so much for your help. Sorry for my bad English.
Turn off the auto brightness option
Turning off adaptive brightness is not working and it looks more like a feature than bug. (Proximity sensor gets active on lock screen or after data/wifi use to detect if flip cover is covering the screen or not?)

Proximity sensor

I didn't realize before but lately the screen doesn't turn off when I use the phone then my cheek starts touching the screen and ends up a mess, how can I check is the proximity sensor is working or of I accidentally turned it off?
