This mod will backup your existing boot animation, and install the stock Nexus boot animation. This mod also includes an addon.d script.

What is addon.d?
On some ROMs, like Cyanogenmod, there are scripts in /system/addon.d that run during a ROM update or flash. They can backup and restore system apps (like Gapps), or perform many other functions. This mod includes an addon.d script, so the boot animation is not lost during a ROM update! If your ROM doesn't support addon.d, this mod should still flash properly, but you won't benefit from addon.d.
Tested and Confirmed to work on:
I have ensured this will install the correct resolution boot animation on the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10, but it should work on virtually any Android device. Let us know if it works!

Check out the one linked in this post from the Nexus 7 (2013) forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52020877&postcount=1
I use it on my N5, N7 (2013) and N10. It's basic Nexus, but pretty cool.

I ported this and created a flashable zip, after extraction from this ROM for Nexus 7 . So thanks to rascarlo
i JUST got my N4 and dont know if i want to unlock the bootloader and install CWM just yet, but i REALLY like the look of that keyboard!!!!!!
is there ANY way to install this without unlocking??
line 2 of your instructions say just install as apk but i couldnt get that to work. (edit: i dont know how to install a zip as an apk, i long pressed in root explorer, chose "open with" and chose "apk package installer" but it only open the contents of the zip.)
thank you for your time
You need to extract it first. And why on earth haven't you unlocked the bootloader ?

thank you, that did the trick, and it looks so much better than the default keyboard,
as far as unlocking the bootloader, after trying SOOOOO many roms and mods on my HD2, ive decided to leave this N4 stock for atleast a year before i start messing with that.

Beta 1.3 not flashing. I am workin' on fix to this bug. The fixed version will be avaible soon.

Hey man. Thanks for the new ROM. I don't want to seem ungrateful but what will attract users to this over any other cm10.1 ROM? There's a LOT of really good ROMs at the moment all fighting but all looking the same with minor tweaks.
Again, I'm asking as I'm interested, not to offend.
Thanks

Substrate makes it easy to modify software, even without the source code, and in a way that allows users to easily choose which changes they want.

How do i flash the TEs?
- download the MOD and flash it through your custom recovery
- Of course only interesting if you are already using TWRP or CMW/PhilZ etc.

Flash through CWM / TWRP
You place the zip on the internal memory or external SD card.
- To boot into recovery, hold volume down when you restart
- Go to "install zip from sd card", depending on the type of recovery (CWM)
-> Or just install (in TWRP)
- look for the folder where you have placed the zip
- And flashes this now by clicking on yes in CMW or slide to the right with TWRP.
- Then reboot and kernel you got it.

Attention!! I tested them all, seems to work, but only tested at the moment with Purity ROM. I think it should work with all AOSP ROMs too. Make a backup first if you want to be safe.
Enjoy it.

I wanna try this but is stock ota deodexed or odexed? I flashed kitkat by using the factory image and using adb to push the system to my nexus 10 if that matters.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using xda app-developers app
Hi
Stock is odexed. I think it will not work. You can try it but i think you get a bootloop. But wait, you can try my testfile. Its untested, so make a backup. Not sure if it will work.
Tested the odexed version but it is nog working :'(

Try Quickboot in the market. It does not give you options by holding the power menu, but if you place the option on you screen one click will get you all your options.
I have faith that you will get it worked out. I will wait patiently. LoL
