What if i told you, One does not Post a request in the Development section and get a reply for it !

Samsung has not released the kernel sources yet for 4.2.2 since the firmware still has not been released yet. There are only 2x 4.2.2 leaks available by now ( UFME3 and UFME7 ) which can only be used with the included stock kernel. Look around, some dudes have released some custom ROMs based on the Leaks..

Sry ! I swear ive read a lot (not the rules) but i couldn find any custom kernel for my 4.2.2 . So i was thinking maybe there is one i might install preloaded with any rom.. (thats why) im asking for a rom with this specs

There are no custom kernels. Only stock kernel that comes with rom

have i read right? JJE going all soft lately? Normally you would rip on someone asking this kinda question
Anyway to OP download a custom rom from the development page and then wait till later tonight or tomorrow and download the ICS theme by Vertumus....Looks even better than the original ICS
Given up mate this forum should be renamed One Flew Over etc etc .
Anyway the guy did put a bit more into his question than just what's best rom .

i do not know if it would work on GB but i have heard that there is an app on the market regarding faceunlock..Like i said above..No need to flash cm9 or any other ics roms at the moment..not stable enough...well for me that is..download a rom then wait till tonight to flash the Vertumus theme ICS style...Much better than proper ics if you ask me..Anyway go into market and then search faceunlock and take it from there buddy

Try Resurrection remix 2.6.1. Based on ICS and stable as a rock. I'm pretty new myself and been using it for a while.Easy to install and no issues whatsoever. :good:
First of all, are you sure you have an i9100 and not an i9100G, a skyrocket (AT&T or Rogers), a Galaxy S2 LTE HD, etc?
If you do have an i9100, this is the forum for you. If not, try and find your right forum...
I'd look in the SGS2 android dev forums and not the Original Android Dev forums. Alot of cooks have ROMs with SGS3-like themes... And there's possibly a touchwiz5 mod in the themes section. I know the ripple lockscreen was ported too...
To be honest, alot of ROMs exist but it's a question of taste... I know Resurrection remix is a popular one. Alot of people switched to Cyanogenmod when ICS hit though, as ICS wasn't up to par for Samsung's implementation...
Your best bet is to flash a custom kernel with CWM recovery in Odin (Alot of guides to do this) like CF-Root and then grab ROMs and flash them through CWM. If you want a kernel that's able to dual boot, you can use DreamKernel, Siyah, etc. That way you can get one ROM going and test a second ROM as a secondary. Dual booting can be achieved because we have a 500MB partition on our phones that isn't used for anything... Fun, is it not?
And The other rom is pfittech ics rom and is also stable and he is working on stable jb rom as among other devs

I'd go with rootbox. Just because the dev updates more frequently does not mean it's a better rom. The ones who don't update frequently just mean they don't have bugs to fix...

[Q] Rom with some stock features

Hi,
I installed the latest stock Rom I9300XXELKC_I9300OXXELK4_XEO i found.
before this one i had CM9 nthe stable ver.
I could feel the change to the worse immediately. but what can i say.. i like some of the stock features\screens.
Are there any tweaks or mods that makes the stock faster and better without removing it's features completely??
Thanks.
Try a custom rom .
You will have to read each roms description and decide for yourself .

[Q] Change screen colors on CM 10.2

Hey, first of all thanks alot for all the development and crazy amount of information going on in here
I have searched but unfortunately I couldn't find a solution to my problem so I'm asking here. I recently installed official Cyanogenmod 10.2 stable release on my i9300 international S3 (since CM11 gave me some bugs) and it's pretty great so far, but I've been searching a way to change the color settings of the screen. On CM there are some built in ones but I don't really like those. On the 4.3 Stock Samsung ROM there was "Professional Photo" or something like that that I did like. Does anyone know what I can do? If I understood correctly kernels can do that sort of stuff but I didn't find a kernel to suit my needs.
Thanks in advance

Yes you understood it correctly If your Planning to run a ROM based on CM Screen modes like Dynamic, Professional Photo etc Are available only through custom Kernel.
In Sammy as v all know you can change it under settings but for CM unfortunately you have to stick to Kernel Settings to do that.
Almost All popular Kernels Have that option under Screen>MDNIE mode
All you have to do is select the right kernel
Unfortunatly You asked a Question in this Thread and Also Gave an answer for the same.
Just remeber that for CM ul have to stick to some Externel Kernel as these options wont be available with stock CM 10.2 Kernel as well
Just as a recommendation give GoogyMax , Boeffla, Agni a try as these gave me really good results(Special Thx to Dev's of the same )

I've looked into GoogyMax and Boeffla but as far as I could tell they don't support color changing. If I do install them what can I do to change the colors?
And I have yet to install a kernel, does it come in a zip file that I can install in CWM?

I'm really frustrated because I like vanilla android and CM is just so much faster than TouchWiz (I'm no won Android Revolution HD 40.0), I switched just because of the GPS issue but I really don't want it as my daily driver.. Maybe a different AOSP based ROM you know that the GPS would work in?

Strange To hear that. Well ive never used Stock CM so cant Comment on that GPS issue.
As Far As Now the AOSP or AOKP Roms ive used have never Had this GPS issue. You Can Try Anyone From Below Thread (CM 10.2/1)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/orig-development/10-04-index-roms-t2218825
For me i would have chosen between PACMAN PARANOID n SLIMBEAN . All are great for Daily use
Also Check out This ROM. MY personal favourite Amongst All. Bug Free and Stable , Archidroid but its KK
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-archidroid-v2-3-3-power-hands-t2354859
Yes CM is definately Smoother than TouchWIz( Thx to Free RAM ). But Try out the ArchiDroid Stock Sammy ROM. You Might Like it for its smoothness
Rom recommendations are not allowed on xda. You have to try out and search for which rom suits u the best same goes with kernels

android kernel

hello guys
i have a question and i hope that i will find an answer
my phone is SGS II I9100 and i want to install another model ROM like S5 or nexus rom , Xperia ROM ...
if i replace the kernel of the ROM by S II , Siyah or any i9100 supported kernel, will my phone boot without risks or problems??
please helpe me to know that and thnx
It wont boot.
Wysłane z mojego Xperia Z przy użyciu Tapatalka
So what should i doing to install another ROM??
All custom roms here on XDA are specific to the device and forum where you find them.......
S2 roms can only be found in the S2 forums.....
S5 roms can only be found in the S5 forums....
Sony roms......Sony forums.....
Nexus roms.......Nexus forums
etc, etc, etc........
Look here in the S2 forums and you'll find a wide variety of roms to choose from for THIS device.......
Some are basic CyanogenMod roms, some are stock based, some are themed to look like other devices......
You have ICS, JB, KK and LP based roms to choose from......basically you would be hard pressed to exhaust all the flashing possibilities presented on this forum......
One word of caution......If you're after usability and stability, steer clear of the LP based roms......While it's good that current roms are still being compiled for the S2, it is fair to say that the LP based roms are still relatively new, and are not as stable as the older (ICS, JB & KK) roms.
I'm not going to recommend one rom over another.....For one thing, it's against XDA rules, but more importantly, using custom roms is about trial and error.....about trying things out until YOU find a rom that suits YOU......
Basically it comes down to you putting in the screen time, doing your research and experimenting.......
XDA is a friendly bunch of people, and we'll be here to help if things go wrong, but if you learn the processes before you start modifying, things shouldn't go wrong.......
So....put in the screen time, choose what's best for you, and flash away......
Good luck and happy flashing.....
Keith.

easy, use dorimanX 8.44 v005 by computoncio here: http://dorimanx.casoncia.org/index....005-COMP-[16-17]-[29-09]-JB-SGII-PWR-CORE.zip
If you want a different version, here is the link to the folder: http://dorimanx.casoncia.org/index.php?dir=V8/
(You want any V8 version of the kernel because only the V8 kernels support stock Jelly Bean.
All you had to do was use the search function on XDA or a simple google search and the answers will be there
