I love TW roms. I love the extra neat features of TW. But I love the cleanliness look of 4.2.2 stock android. Hell if I didnt have Verizon I'd be on the nexus 4. Anyway, is there a way to get allshare or something similar to that on AOKP/AOSP roms? I like being able to play videos from my phone to my xbox. I know its technically a TW feature but can I just extract the files to a 4.2.2 rom? Or an app similar to it to share my videos on the laeger screen?
Something you may wanna check out doesn't do exactly what you speak of its from pc to xbox but it's called plex www.plex.com fantastic and it's free highly recommended

Haven't tried it to Xbox, but I use iMediaShare Lite to stream to my LG plasma. It works very well.
I've been using Twonky Beam with my Roku lately, works well, and has an Xbox app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pv.twonkybeam
Try using doubletwist, playto or Xbox smartglass as these let the Xbox stream content from them
I was using twonky on stock 4.1.2 and it worked great especially for streaming internet videos to the Xbox but since using 4.2.2 it doesn't seem to see the Xbox
Does anyone know of anything similar to twonky as I miss watching internet videos through the Xbox.

Is there any way that i can get Media stored on my phone such as .mkv movies to play on a TV. I am running CM9, i tried the dual boot option using siyah kernal and a stock secondary rom but, siyah kernal screws up the autobrightness on CM9.
Is there any other options for me, other than just run a stock rom? trying to put some movies on my phone to watch at a friends house.
I haven't tried other players, but using mx player on cm9 works fine with an mhl adapter to my tv.

i am using a universal mhl adapter that i picked up at tmobile, it works on stock rom but not on the CM9 nightly that i last tried.
This worked on my galaxy nexus http://m.m3m0.bazaarandroid.com/app/market/com.sec.android.app.allshare/1200/428569/AllShare Player you'll have to install aptoide, which has apps just as the play store, but with no restrictions. try it and let me know if it work. Worked on 10.1 tablet too.
Just installed it on my galaxy nexus as well. Thanks for the link.
This I would love, but without having to install an extra app just to download.
I use Allshare Play on my computer to my phone when I'm out. Would be nice to have to use it on my tablet off the network as well.
Does the app still work if you uninstall aptoide?

I use Es File Explorer to my devices. I've seen these recommended as well, BubbleUPnP and HomeDia... I haven't tried them so I can't vouch.

You can try Twonky. With Twonky Beam you can even beam video from tablet to PC or Smart TV (only HTML5 sites).
I am using also MediaHouse (the Pro version, but the Lite works as well).

Thanks for the share.
Can someone upload the apk file cos I would like to added to my rom..?
Has anybody tried pushing the full Allshare package to the System Apps (IE Allshare Play, Allshare Controller, etc.)
One thing that bites is that while the included Allshare apk for this tablet is good for DLNA, it would be nice to have the remote access features of Allshare Play.
Sure, there are tons of alternatives, but Allshare/ Allshare Play has great privacy settings for DLNA so you can restrict access easily and access your home computer when you are away from your home LAN.
thank you

I installed Samsung link on my galaxy tab s sm-t700 and diddnt have to install nothing else..I posted the link in this thread I think..I'm not home right now, and behave I'm under a def xda acc on my phone..but there is a link on the net where you can download just that file
Loved this app. Think it had it's own built in video player since it was able to play files from the DLNA server that no other player could do including Dice and Rock.
I've since flashed to CM10 JB preview and am not able to get older versions of DLNA.apk and divx.apk to load. Anyone have a version that will work with JB?
Hoping there is compatibility from the newly released ICS update from Samsung that someone can post.

The two apps in question are dependent on touchwiz and will not work on CM. I've read someone getting all share working on CM but that was one out of dozens of post saying it doesnt work.

AllShare is just Samsung's implementation of UPNP - So if you want the functionality that allshare provides, download an app called UPNPlay from the market. A much better implementation of the UPNP protocol IMO.

There are several alternatives on play store.
IMHO the best are homedia and bubbleupnp. They sync well with my Samsung TV too

Question, i seen a friend of mine has allshare cast on his g3 and is using the new netgear ptv 3000 to stream movies to his tv using miracast technology... I looked at the specs of the g3 vs the g2 and the g2 seems to have the same wireless radios as the g3 when it comes to wifi.
My question is would it be possible to put allshare cast on a jellybean updated s2 and be able to use it to stream wireless tv like the g3?
thanks.

I think you only need allshare dongle connected to pc and allshare installed on phone. I saw video somewhere on youtube.

thanks for the reply... i believe the solution your talking about is using dlna, i am looking at using the miracast standard... i hear it is superior to dlna.
guys , did u have.any answer about S2 and allshare cast , 3 monthes now I have the dongle and didn't try it
evene the new jb didnt include it in S2

I can't believe that no one tried to port the allshare cast feature to S2. I don't know why the people are not interested in this feature.
Developers, can you please help us ?

My big question , that I didnt read sny direct answer .
Is allshare cast option is a hardware that is not supported by S2 ,?
Which I dont think do , because u can see the dongle through wifi direct and connect to it , even u can access the web interface for the dongle,

you are referring to allshare play which is (DLNA), what we need is allshare cast (miracast) (screen mirroring)
What's the dif ? Sorry bout that.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
DLNA: stream videos, audio and pictures to your TV
Miracast: see whatever is on your phone screen on your TV (games, browsing, emails ... anything)
U r killing me anserright , u have your recommendations without even know what is allshare cast featuer .
Some one please kill me and let me finish my useless life :screwy:

i couldn't wait and it seems that allshare cast in never coming to the S2.
i got the S4 and i already had a miracast box from Taiwan, the company name is singularity systems. You can find some videos for the product on youtube.
screen mirroring is working fine but it wont work with rooted S4 until triangle away is updated to support i9500.
Congratulation for your s4 . I was expecting one this week but u don't think it will come any time soon . any way I still have my Samsung single cast and I still didn't use it yet b
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
I think that allshare cast is never coming to s2 because of the screen resolution. I think that any phone with a display lower than 720 will not have the feature. I dont think it has to do with wifi or gpu.
update:
The S4 mini has screen mirroring and its resolution is 540 x 960, so I think it is possible to have it on S2. We have to wait for the 4.2.2 update.
