[SOLVED] No network detected ???? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys;
A month ago my phone died on me. After a 1 month hassle of the company trying to dodge doing repair the phone on the warranty, they finally gave up.
They replaced the motherboard and when I got it, it gave me zero bars and no network. I took it back and they returned back with a different rom but it was working. The first was some samsung s3 in arabic version rom. The second was a chinese samsung s3 rom. Since I couldn't get arabic keyboard I decided to flash super nexus rom but now I have zero bars and no network showing.
The hardware specs are in the attachments.
Any idea how to fix it?

Can't find PDA, CSC and modem?
Looking at different posts. Tried Ariza patch didn't work. Am assuming I only need to set the imei to get a network. But what am I to set it to?

You cannot set an IMEI .
You either have a backed up EFS folder you can restore or its a service center repair .
Can't find PDA, CSC and modem? either you are clueless or its more than just IMEI is a problem .
Suggest you flash a stock rom for your area via odin from sammobile.com .
Fails then its a service centre .

I am a bit clueless, nut when I had the S3 before it died and had its motherboard replaced. I would press *#1234# to get the pda and modem and csc or you can get them in the about area. But now with the super nexus rom if i press the code it gives " no mobile network" and it does not show in the about area.
I didn't back up the EFS. This problem was present as I said before when I got it back from the in the service center they had a rooted middle east stock rom and it showed no service, they took it back, I thought the reason was loose wiring. And when I got it back it had a rooted Chinese stock rom which was able to connect to the network. The previous Original motherboard had an unrooted African stock rom, they also cheated me by giving me a 16gb motherboard instead of 32gb.

Tried to flash chinese stock rom via odin and got fail. now it will only go to download mode anything less it gives a yellow triangle.

You need a service centre but you have no warranty .

Got it fixed.
First Flashed Samsung i9300 stock rom 4.0.4 from http://samsung-s3.com/restoring-sto...ware-build-xxalf2-samsung-galaxy-s3-gt-i9300/ (I had 4.0.4 when I bought the phone.)
root the device via Framaroot 1.4.1. apk (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276)
Installed busybox via busyboxinstaller.apk in google play and installed busybox
last installed ARIZAPatch.apk can be found in xda developers forum and make sure you are connected to the wifi and press the V[0,5] button. Your device will reboot and there will be light.

[Q] No IMEI no baseband no service

My GS2 suddenly got stuck in flightmode did a hard reset now shows no service!!!
has no baseband what should i do
I've not rooted my phone neither used any custom rom's please help
Thanking in anticipation
If you've not rooted your phone nor flashed any custom firmware on it, best bit of advice I can give you is send it in for warranty service. You risk losing your warranty if you try many of the 'fixes' on here.
If you do try these & they don't work, you'll end up paying to have your phone fixed, whereas now you should be able to have it fixed under warranty.
hello,
unfortunately it's past warranty period, what do you suggest now?
thanks
Since your out of warrenty then you could give this a try:-

Look for XWKF3
and download the correct firmware for your region.
Follow the instructions given on the same page to install it.
[Edit].. Power off then go into recovery first and data/factory reset before installing firmware..( 3 button combo(volume up-home-power)) to get into recovery.

from the phone pad dial *#06#
This will give you your IMEI Number
If the number is 004999010640000
then this is the fake IMEI that is assigned to the phone if the nv_data.bin file is messed up.
Go Here:-
Recover your IMEI in 9 steps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264021
If its a different number
Then remove the battery and check the underside of the phone
your IMEI number is written here...Does it match!!
If stiil not working then it needs to go into the service centre
Did you flash a modem? Do it. If you don't see the baseband still try this:
Airplane mode ON. Power off, take out battery for 5 minutes. Put it back. power on. Airplane mode off.
no i"ve not flashed the modem, it's got NO iMEI
thanks all for your time.
Flashed my phone with latest Lite'ning Rom, everything is fine now.
I hope you've backed up your EFS stuff.

Could you tell me where you got your lightning ROM from and how you did it? I am facing the same problem and tried flagging xwke8 and xwkf3 but both didn't work.
Thanks,

I'm having the exact same problem..... please advice!

[Q] Emergency calls only!!

2 weeks ago I flashed Ultima Rom onto my phone and It won't connect to my network so I restored my android backup with still no luck.I brought it to the shop where I bought the phone and they fixed it straight away for me.
Last not I flashed android 4.1.1 stock Rom through Odin and it said emergency calls only again so I rooted the phone once again to make sure my phone didn't lock to a certain network but everything is still unlocked. I tried to restore my refs backup but got stuck in a boot loop so I restored back to the android backup again.
I can't seem to figure out how to get my phone connected to the network. My imei is corrupted and it's the same as what it is on the box. I've searched the internet for a solution but have found nothing.
Does anybody know how to fix this??
Your help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Usual suspects .
Not correct IMEI
EFS faulty
User does not have correct modem
User has not entered network settings / has wrong CSC for network/location .

Is your IMEI the same as under the battery .
Have you restored your backed up EFS folder .
Have you the correct CSC for your network OR have you entered the network settings yourself .
Do you have a modem for your region .

[Q] Selected Network Unavailable on my S3

The Current Problem with my s3 is that it cannot register on a network. It shows Selected network Unavailable
My phone i got it second hand, It used to show a Tmobile Start screen beofre i updated it.
I flashed my phone using odin and loaded firmware with baseband version i9300DDLJ1 . I think this baseband version is indian based. After i flashed the start screen started showing Samsung insted of Tmobile . Initially when i flashd the IMEI got changed. Later IMEI was corrected from a Mobile shop using their STP box
So soon after i flashed , the phone cannot register on network. I messed up with the EFS folder i think . I dont have any backup of EFS folder
The current Situation is IMEI is corrected , The phone shows list of all availalbe network when i search manually . But once i select my home network it shows selected network unavailable. I tried to restore/reset the phone several times . Tried with different Sim card also. No use , still it cannot register on to network
My Conclusions
EFS Folder Is messed up
IMEI is Corrected Using STP box
Base Band is i9300DDLJ1
Originally Phone is Tmobile Based
Phone Variant is GT-i9300
Problem is Cannot Register to network
check out other sections and pick one

Solved using z3x samsung tool pro
Enable usb debbuging, connect to your pc using usb cable, root your phone , start Samsung tool pro, select com port, go to repair tab and click on patch certificates. I've tried all other solutions I found on different forums, bricked the phone several times, but this did the trick.

[Q] No network - Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300

Hello guys,
I`ve been watching all this topics for a while cuz I have some problems with my Galaxy S3. I`ll tell you what i did.
All worked fine, had the 4.1.1 official rom + root, then i wanted to go to 4.1.2 so i flashed an UK stock ROM. After that i kept getting the "Sim has been removed" error need restart bla bla.. so i search all around for a fix.. i changed 2 SIM cards and nothing. Then I flashed a Poland version 4.1.2 Stock. That version was better but I encountered the "Call ended" error.. calls would end after 3-4mins or i could not call at all. Then i flashed (and this is when the problem started) Stock Vodafone Spain and got "No network". I must say my IMEI/ SN all are intact.
Then I patched only radio modem from the UK ROM with Odin, but with "PHONE" option (i know i did wrong).. i wanted to change only the modem and it worked cuz i checked with *#1234#.. but from that moment not even one ROM has worked in showing me the network. On About phone says "Network: Unknown". Sometimes it connects to Vodafone but when I try to call says "No network service".
Now my phone is in second service and they can`t make it get a network on. They tryed the neverlock thing but i think was already unblocked.
I tryed rooting and using this Ariza. and were 2 versions there.. I tryed v5 only and didnt worked.
I tried the ##72786# and I get the following message: Connection Problem or invalid MMI code (found somewhere that for this code i need to have Wifi on to work?)
Now i`m thinking to get my phone back and dunno reflash with a good .pit file ? or just reRoot and try v4 Ariza.. I`m really sad, it`s been 5 days and I can`t think on nothing else to do.. I even called Samsung official service and they said to send it to them.
If you have any idea, pls need help. tnx
Check your IMEI is the same as under the battery .
Samsung will reject warranty .

you are right.. IMEI and SN are not the same.. pff what to do now?
Restore your backed up EFS folder.
jje
But i think i backed up the EFS folder with the modified IMEI. What can i do now?
nothing. replace the motherboard
SOLVED!
Ok so tnx to JJEgan i checked all the IMEI numbers and only 2 of them were modified. Thing is before I pached the v5 Ariza, I did a EFS backup with that program. That backup img saved my phone.
Firstly I got my phone back from service with 4.2.1 official ROM (thats nice, cost me 0 $ ). I rooted with CF-Auto and used Ariza patch (v4). But my imei was still wrong so after that I used EFS_Backup_Restore_new_ADB.rar to restore my IMEI/SN with the old EFS backup then I used another programEFS Professional v2.0. I checked the option to repair No network and clicked Restore. After that I restarted my phone and I got the messages from provider with APN settings and so on.
Thank you for the help :good:
worked till first restart... now No network again, I`m not a samsung/android fan anymore..

[Q] Is my phone software unlocked(versus factory) Please helpp?

Hello,
I will have to give background info on this before anyone can help so bear with me please :.
I live in Pakistan and I bought a i9300 directly from samsung. In the beginning of the six months i owned the phone, I never rooted or put custom ROMs on it. Then unfortunately I got SDS. I gave my phone to a local repair shop (non samsung, but highly reliable, I bought the phone from there) who switched the motherboard on the phone. After I got it, I rooted it and started installing custom ROMs on it. First it was cyanogenMod, then Paranoid Android and Supernexus +AOKP and others. Everything worked fine. Then I installed Omega ROM (Samsung based ROM which changes the modem). Everything went fine, but I was unable to connect to my network (No texts, calls, data connectivity). It detected my network(Ufone) but was unable to register on it when I manually tried to. I mega-wiped my phone, cleared cache and factory reset and did everything. Alternatively, the following steps I also tried.
1)Checked if my IMEI is intact. It was. (I have EFS backups too)
2)Checked if my serial # is different. It is still the same (No need for Ariza Patch)
3)Checked if my SIM works. It does on different phones.
4)Checked my APN settings. They were fine. I even manually changed them to match the carriers
5)Changed my CSC settings (using the playstore app). Still doesnt work.
6)Checked different modems from the appropiate thread (I have tried Europe Unbranded, Middle East, Egypt and many others)
7)Restored nandroid backup of original stock 4.1.2 Sammy ROM, still not connectivity.
8)Flashed using ODIN, the stock 4.1.2 ROM for my country (Using SAM mobile). Still no connectivity.
9) Matched my RIL with my baseband (using the GetRIL app), still didnt work.
Stock Samsung 4.1.2 ROM details before OMEGA flash in which everything worked:
AP: I9300XXEMA2
CP: I9300XXELLA
CSC: I9300OJVEMA1
This has happened to me the 5th time now (Phone is currently at the repair shop) and I have sequentially tried every one of the steps I have mentioned. I called up the repair shop and they said that I can come tomorrow and pick it up, all they have left to do is "SIM UNLOCK "the phone. That confused me a lot. I will go tomorrow and ask them details as to what they meant by that. So my question is basically this:
1) Is it possible that the motherboard they put into my phone is from a software-unlocked phone not a hardware unlocked? (Is the 'unlock' on the motherboard of the phone)
2) Is there a way to find out if my phone is software or factory unlocked?
P.S. Every single time I hand in my phone, I obviously unroot it and install stock on it (regardless of the fact that it doesnt connect to the network). But every single time I get my phone back, its ALWAYS ROOTED.. I even asked the technical team guy and he had no idea what I was talking about (repairmen here dont have that much of knowledge, they tend to follow guides online, thats it). So could it be that my connectivity issue is just because its software unlocked and not hardware?
Thank you!
Anyone?
bump

Not a genuine service centre then .
IMEI
MODEM
CSC
all correct for network suggests a hardware fault .

But it's not a hardware fault? I mean whatever they do, they have to root the phone to be able to do it. Any idea what settings or configuration they might have changed using root for it to connect which I haven't already tried?
