Why do I hardly see any development? - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

I am new to the HTC one threads. But anyways, I see people talking about Roms available for my variant of the device, but I look in both develop.ent sections and can't find them. Are tons universal for the HTC one? Should I be looking in a different device thread completely? Like the international thread?

What Sub Forum Do I Go To??

I just Got this phone yesterday. Had a Mytouch 4g before and always messed with it.
But this phone has so many Sub-forums that i dont know where i can go or where i shouldn't.
I have a T-mobile GS3. Can i use roms or mods from the other carrier sub forums or even the S III I9300 sub forums?
What is the difference from Original Android Development sub forums and Just Android Development
Thanks in advance. I know this is a noob question. so if mods want to delete or move, please direct me to the correct place if this is the wrong place to ask this.
Stay here, don't go to the international sgs iii forum.
If you want to flash a ROM pick one from the T-Mobile section (i think that's who you said was your provider).
Original development is stuff built from scratch/source. Regular development is stuff based on stock Rom.
Hope this helps

Yea that clears everything up. 1 more question.
Why can't I use the other providers section. I'm guessing the each carrier has something that won't work on the others?

All the carriers models are different if not something major like cdma vs. gsm, something software related to fit that specific carrier. Make sense?

thats nice...i can post without rolling eyes, but why i should do this?
there is the smiley i can choose, and i like the rolling eyes smiley
every week comes (minimum) one forum user and ask these things:
- can i use ATT on INTL?
- Which ROM is the best, fastest, smoothest, bla bla bla
- how can i root, flash, recovery...and so on
we have many threads, many threads they are not needed, if forum user READ the entire threads about
the Toolkit, Recoveries, ROMs and Guides
you can compare everything
AOSP with CM10, CM10.1 or AOKP, many Sense ROMs and a lot other stuff.
download it and use it and find your own best rom
i have test it all
sorry, but i can only rolling my eyes about such threads.
superchilpil has saying it all...

Are you 15 and unable to follow the rules? You are literate enough to read right? Unless you want your stay here at XDA to be unpleasant. I suggest not only do you educate yourself on the rules. You should also watch your manners when you speak to well respected members like skdbug.

Do you know what the best rom is? the one that suits your needs best, by testing them all thats the best rom.

+1, Coming from the DHD forum where members would openly promote other roms in devs threads and regularly got the short end of the stick shoved into a dark place, i can honestly tell you all asking questions like this is tantemount to getting a bad rep on XDA. I am a ATT X+ dev and still randomly test other devs roms it's kind of an addiction. and as Llior said the best is what works best for you only way to know is to test them all and make your choice.
Believe it or not i have read almost every string i asked a question in the Q+A post. I just was looking for some contrast.
Have fun

Whatever Happened to the Forum Merge?

Yes I know it's a question, but I stuck it in general because it's about the subforum in general.
Few months ago it was decided the AT&T forums would be merged with the International forums as a lot of the stuff from there would work with the AT&T One and vice versa. It's also a pain to keep going back and forth between the two fourms. If it's not gonna happen at this point that's fine, I'm just wondering what's up.
Thank you
Just wait
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I bet they changed their minds.
I think they should merge them and just leave an AT&T subthread.

Not gonna happen after all. Something about LTE and firmware being different enough to keep the forums separate.

It sucks though, I was one of the biggest supporters for the merge... But in the end I can respect the decision to keep it separate. If it saves one person from bricking their device, then it's worth it.
Any chance we could get a GPE subforum to separate it from the sense stuff?

Will there be an HTC one forum for Verizon?

starting to wonder about this since it comes out tomorrow and nothing so far...
It may end up going under the other HTC One forum. I mean in the DNA forum here, there are ROMs being built for CDMA and GSM, so I can't see why the One would be any different. That's just my guess though.

Please Create Carrier Specific LG G2 Threads.

Right now we only have carrier specific threads for development. While those are needed and appreciated I am finding it extremely difficult to learn or locate carrier specific information on xda. The threads for general, Q&A, accessories, and themes are crossing over each other and its like wading thru a swamp of information. I am personally on sprint and I have found myself ending up in threads that have nothing to do with sprint hoping to find fixes or ideas that dont even apply to my model. Frankly, its very frustrating. I can from the photon, and my wife has the htc one. I have used xda for those models in the past, and still do, and can find informatikn specific to my carrier easily.
Can I use search? Sure I worked in the web search industry for over a decade but that doesnt help if I can choose a specific category (that category in this case being sprint). So searching for info in the lg g2 threads as they are now is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
I know there are other people who must feel the same as I do about this. Id simply like my experience in the lg g2 forums to be as good as it is in other places on xda. I dont know why the g2 forums were set up like this, but frankly its a nightmare content wise. It would also help development further by breaking out info carrier by carrier.
Mods, we need carrier specific forums for the g2. Please add yourself to this post of you feel the same way. Those that dont can start a different thread to leave things the same as they are now. This if for those that feel doing this would improve their g2 experience on xda.
Blame LG for this fragmentation nightmare. ...never and i mean never had there been so many variants. ...its sickening

Not really. There's a specific GS3 forum for each variant, and other Samsung devices. XDA probably doesn't realize LG has a decent size customer base that use these forums so they don't give them the attention they deserve.
Theres fragmentation with every device specific to each carrier to one extent or another. Im not talking about throwing blame for this reason or that reason. However, I do want people to speak up on this so that XDA will address and fix the LG G2 forums. I spent time in the htc one forums for my wifes phone tonight and because its sprint specific I found what I needed in minutes. I cannot do that with the LG side of XDA. Its a mess. I dont know how developers can even follow things enough to help anyone or keep track of things.
This disorganizatikn gives me a new level of respect for them and the craziness they deal with to help the average schmoe like me.
Please this is much needed, all Samsung devices and other as well have carrier specific threads. LG G2 section is a huge mess.

You should have included a poll so the mods can have some numbers to look at to see how many people would like it split into carrier specific threads.
I didnt think about a poll, but Im hoping that people will take the time to chime in here if nothing else just to show support for the idea by saying "Yes, I want to have carrier specific threads as well!"
Poll created. Please add you vote!
I'd love to have a specific section for the vzw g2. It'd make it so much easier to find things and be able to post problems/questions specifically about the Verizon version.

Seems like Sprint has a large user base here. Didn't think this device was that popular on Sprint. It's actually nice to see more users on Sprint.
I'll add my +1 here but we may have to go to the dedicated forum request thread and post there.

I already said this in a thread that got deleted... but, and no offense to anyone, but I'm personally sick of weeding through the broken English posts on here. I'd really like a Verizon specific forum, like Android central does. I've never dealt with a phone that was combined like this, and some of these posts just make me cringe lol
