HI guys, I bought SHW-250S from Korea.

with success , with few issues
then it turned out some of the simcards are not accepted. Funny part is one simcard from say Orange will work, other Orange simcard wont .
Further investigation lead me to conclusion that nv_data.bin / efs folder is corrupted and IMEI is wrong and changed to generic... so i tried to restore IMEI following this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881162
unfortunately that didnt help on shw-250S ,

Do you have a working Bk up of your efs? Bk it up if it works on one Sim use ktool of playstore to Bk it up when working then put in bad Sim in then restore. If it don't work after that its Sim problem. Your phone is unlocked to any network?
Use root browser of playstore as its free

phone is unlocked to every network, but the IMEI is corrupted. i need a way to fix IMEI permamently
I tried modifying hexes in nv_data with 0 success, i probably could investigate that myself but i dont know what to look for or where to start.
im swapping simcards and simcard1 network1 will work, simcard2 network1 wont.
Simcards are fine.
So on same network two cards one will work one won't?

i have couple of these phones and the issue is the same - IMEI corrupted, and semi-unreliable-unlock
Silly question but does that Sim that don't work work in another s2? Are you looking to sell the phone. Cuz if one Sim works fine use that Sim.

Ill test that later but the problem remains - with some sims these s2 work , with some dont. And IMEI is corrupted. If that was just single network that wasnt working, or even few, then i could sell it as "Orange" . but thats not the case because its unreliable and might get returned regardless of network. You understand the problem?
Some networks block imei from working and some don't if its bin reported as stolen or not paid bill. Is it blocked? Ring your network and ask this question. But you say its the same network just different Sim card.? Not sure Atm best bet ring network and see then we will know for sure.

Sorry IMEI isnt blocked - on korean ROM it works, on european it works partially and IMEI gets corrupted.
Have you tried a different Rom to see if its the Rom

Check if there is a difference with modems first mate. To be safe. Also have you bked up your working efs folder many time also to be safe. :thumbup: I would leave ril out and see, if no difference then flash modem/ril combo

any other ideas?
Did you try to Bk up efs on good Sim card signal then restore it when its gone bad? If you have a good efs save it with ktool then go to bad Sim card and restore it.

As the title says i cannot connect my SGS2 to my Mobile Network. No Status in the Top Bar. Connects to WIFI ok.
I have the correct APN settings.
I have flashed the International JB Stock ROM, does the MODEM file need to be from the UK?
I am with o2 and they said to enable packet data but that option isnt listed on the Handset. I think what they mean is 'Mobile Data' which is
ticked.

It's probably your efs data that got wiped. Hope you've got a backup.

No havent got a backup, its a new to me Handset from another person. Yes i can make and receive calls.
I used to have a GT-I9000 so i am pretty clued up on these devices although a little rusty.
Whats that EFS data?
It was on 4.0.4 ICS previous to me flashing via ODIN v1.85.
The efs contains your imei amongst other thing.
Dial *#06# and check your imei matches with the one printed under the battery. If it doesn't then it is your efs data.
Did you make a nandroid before flashing? If so, restore that.
If not, follow this thread to get it sorted. Good luck.

Got excited too soon as i have the Same IMEI. I will try a different SIM Card it may be that, i think its quite old and from another phone a
couple of years ago that was reactivated. Seems a likely candidate although O2 says that everything looks correct on their side.
Any other replies still welcome.

I think losing your efs data without a backup is as bad as it gets so it sounds like good news. You wouldn't have been able to make calls if it was that anyway, but worth crossing that off the list of possibilities.
Is it definately a 3G sim? Other than that I'm out of ideas.

I really need your help. I flashed my I9300 with omega ROM, everything worked fine except my modem. It says 'no service'!!. If i install other modems it says 'Emergency Calls Only' but just doesnt registers. I than did the recovery but cant get it to work on it as well. SIM card is fine as i checked using another phone.

Do you have a backup? You messed up your efs folder. Without a backup you need to send it to samsung

apparantly the chinese are smarter than xda experts , nothing was wrong with th imei or modem...they just used some special app and bingo
Hi guys,
I'm having some problems with my galaxy s3 GT - I9300, it all started when i tried to unlock it via GalaxSim Unlock.
I started the prosses regulary, making a EFS folder back up (the original EFS).
Then i tried with annother sim but it did not get signal.. here is where I mess up.
I make a factory reset and I lost the ORIGINAL EFS back up.
I make another EFS folder back up, but that back up is not the original, is the one that GalaxSim installs.
My IMEI is the same that the one in the box, also my S/N is not 0000..
So.. I'm wondering if you can help me, maybe i can send you my efs folder to see if it is something wrong.

PD: my phone was locked to claro URUGUAY. I'm on 4.2.1 stock
a factory reset does not affect your EFS folders, hence it is still your original EFS folder.
not sure if the sim unlock tool touches the EFS folders though.

I have read it all, but the fact is that my s/n is not corrupted, i have the same as the one in the back of the phone. Also my imei is correct.

Ok.. so if galaxsim dos not touch the efs folder, it's the original one.. but i don't know if galaxsim change something or not.
Other thing is that my 3G works, but I can't make any call. It says that I'm not registed in the network
That says wrong IMEI or user has not put network APN settings into phone in most cases .

I have checked again the imei and it's the same as in the box, also the one back the battery.
There is only one change, the last number that appears in the box is 3 and the last one on the phone is 1..

I'm gonna try ariza again, but some where i have read that is needed a super wipe.
When I try it, I only installed the .apk but it didn't work..
So, it's needed a diferent rom, a wipe or something else?
Hello I have a big problem, after I installed a new and updated ROM my phone won't work on any carrier, so here's what happened:
1.I had the ROM FoxHound_Sniper_Wolf_LPD_ICS_GSII_By_SnakeS and it worked great until the GPS started failing so I decided it was time for a change (until now the phone was working flawlessly with carriers and such)
2.I first tried to install the ROM ParanoidAndroid 3+ ROM Galaxy S2 but I forgot to do a wipe first and then I wiped the phone and re-installed the ROM and it still didn't work.
3.I installed WanamLite Clean & Fast JB 4.1.2 v14.3 without errors until I tried to turn on data networking (I had my APN setup by then) and it didn't turn on so I tried calling and this would pop up:"Not registered on network".
4.I try to fix the problem by going to network providers and selecting my network provider and it said: "Unable to connect, try later", so I try selecting the automatic setting and it gave me the same error, so I kept pressing the select automatically setting until it said: "Registered on network" so I try to call again and still gives me the same error "Not registered on network".
5.I try to go back to my old ROM (FoxHound_Sniper_Wolf_LPD_ICS_GSII_By_SnakeS) and it still gave me the error "Not registered on network".
6.I also tried some other ROMs: RR_JB_V3.1.3_AOKP_4.2.1_I9100 and RootBox-JB-i9100-V4.1 and the phone still won't work.
7.I go back to the WanamLite Clean & Fast JB 4.1.2 but this time it's v14.6
PS:it says "emergency calls only" in the drop down menu

Is your imei ok. Is it there ? Or is it 0000000. Is imei blocked? Have you flashed another modem to see if its that? Most important question atm is do you have a working bk up of your efs just in case its that? Dont post imei btw. Dose data work but not calls?

I tried flashing another modem and the problem is still happening, I don't know what imei or efs mean and also nothing works on the phone not the data nor the sms or the calling

Go to phone settings and then about phone then phone status look down that bit you will see imei. Is it 0000000? Galaxynoob lol what a name.

It's not 0000000 it's a whole bunch of numbers should I send them to you?
No thank you. Is it second hand phone? How long have you had it? Seems like imei is ok unless its blocked. So you have flashed modem it had before you flashed roms yes? Have you tried going bk to stock firmware?

since the beginning of 2012 but it used to work fine and I've been installing a lot of roms on it
Go to google and check imei isn't blocked mate. Also delete apn and restore them first.

and when I did step 3 it was fixed but now I have the generic imei (004999010640000)
all you had to do was checking your IMEI online to see if it was blocked listed.
You now ended up with a generic IMEI.
You followed the first 3 steps right?
Please tell me you backed up the EFS folder.

How do I restore the efs do I just copy and replace it and then do a factory reset?

I copied the efs to my pc and another one in my sdcard on the phone
Had to go then. Daughter had to go to bed Lol. Did you check if its blocked? Does your county do that block imei thing? Prob not if that imei is working. Does it all work Tex,calls,data? Follow what @gastonw has said mate. If it don't work after go Bk to that imei and think yourself lucky it works

I've been flashing roms since many years but last night I just stuck to a problem of which I cant find any solution and yes NO NETWORK at all no matter what aosp/aokp I flash , I go like wipe factory,wipe cache,wipe dalvik cache but no use ........please guys help me what should I do now ???an yeah just to let u guys know that THe sim is perfect and is running cool along perfect network on my Nokia but not on my phone which so sad......so guys help me out and yes THANks.
Difficult to give you any help, you haven't give any information on what went wrong.
Try posting what happened, if you have matching imei under battery to phone info and which modem version you flashed last.
You do have efs backup, right?

actually last night I went flashing 2,3 roms one after the other and just when I flashed [ROM][i9300][4.2.2] Illusion v2.1 - 7|16|13 all went wrong ..........after that I tried several times to flash crdroid rom and other aosp n aokp roms they get installed but not giving network.
now lemme tell u about sim ....I toook it out as it wasnt me giving me network thought I should flash wihtout sim but it didnt work as well,
I didnt try to match imei.

Does your IMEI match the one under the battery .
If not restore your backed up EFS folder .
Fail to backup its a service centre paid for repair .

Try Ariza patch. Search XDA and downlowd apk. You may need to install the patch every time you update the software.

Dial *#06# in your phone's dailer and if your IMEI matches the IMEI on your phone's box or under battery then its something else.
If it says something like 0049xxxx or null or 0000... Your IMEI is corrupted.
In the case of corrupted IMEI you must have a backup of your EFS folder in order to restore it. If you have backed up your EFS then you're safe. If not.... Only Samsung can fix it for you, provided you have warranty left.
I had the same problem.. my IMEI changed to 0049xxxxxx by installing Custom Rom. Got it fixed for free by Samsung PM me if you want to know how.
