There shouldnt be a problem running an ICS custom ROM on Stock ROM. Could be your file is corrupt. Try downloading it again and flashing it again properly. I dont know what's the problem exactly.

If you have done a Data wipe then all your apps are gone. You can install another Gingerbread ROM and try to see your apps.

Yes you can.. But i think it'll be installed in System folder and without root you wont be able to access it i guess. Just follow the guide as you are rooting for the first time and everything should work fine. ATB

I am not going to take any risk. Will wait until a working cwm for locked bootloader will come
What If we do manually? I mean:
1. Run the del_odex.sh with ScriptManager
2. Replace every .apk and .jar with right permissions
3. With Flash Gordon, Wipe Cache and Dalvik
4. Reboot

Odexed roms work faster than deodexed. If you don't plan to modify your rom don't deodex it. Though there are many mods for odexed roms too.
me too i dont wand deodexed but hopefully some developer make a mod for odex too not deodexed only
and how to undo the changes, mate? if for some reason i don't like deodexed firmware, any method to undo it? :fingers-crossed:

Actually I lost the steps/procedures I followed when I unlocked, rooted, and installed this custom rom i have. So what I did was to look under my memory bank but unfortunately, I just recalled a few. Of course, there was no more unlocking of bootloader and rooting(flashmode) done because it was already unlocked and rooted during my first update/installation, I just wipe cache, dalvik-cache and wipe date/factory reset using cwm recovery. After that, I flashed the JB ROM still using cwm recovery, reboot it on recovery and wipe cache, dalvik-cache and wipe date/factory reset then reboot. My phone restarted but only up to the sony custom rom logo. Can you please help?

Keep in mind that ROM makers don't have means to test too many situations, so they have tested it in one way the know it would work, anything that have not not been tested would probably fail.

Try installing a slim/micro/mini gapps package. The gapps package you are trying to flash requires more space as there are more apps associated to it. The packages I mentioned has only the essential gapps for your system. You can search for them on xda.
