Getting the bubbles back is an easy fix. Using an app like Root Explorer, make your way into System, then the CSC folder. In here, you'll see customer.xml. Rename this file to customer.xml.bak, and restart. Voila, notification bubbles!

Is there maybe something lines that in Customer.xml to activate the bubble, but allow us to kill the instruction?
Just for the information, I'm running CleanROM 3.5, and I don't get the tutorial notifications. Might just be ROM specific. I don't know what lines in the actual .xml file trigger the notification bubbles, I just know that this method helps to get them back. Sorry, guys!

It is the existence of Customer.xml itself that hides the bubbles. You can delete the contents of the file and it still doesn't bring back the bubbles. There is probably a settings line that needs to be added to show them.

On a rooted Stock ROM you can freeze the Help 1.0 application inside of TitaniumBackup. After a reboot you will have to go through the three lock screen tips once more but then you should not see them again.

Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
Black on black is usually a theme related issue.. I suspect that the OP is using a different rom than the guys with the black text issue.
We've seen that alot on Cm/AOKP themes where there is a 'real dark' mod in the rom also that gets enabled. The mms app isn't accounting for the fact that the theme is different than the default. Notach based that black dialer and contacts on the Euro variant of the S4. Where as the North American device runes AMDL stock the Euro runs AMEA and I'd venture that the changes that need to be made are in either framework-res.apk or twframework-res.apk. Most likely some specific xml strings that need to be changed in twframework-res.apk since I believe the samsung messaging app makes touchwiz dependent calls.

Same black on black issue on MMS app on OEM AT&T Rom, and even when the Phone App was done just like the other 2, it never changes from White background. It's a shame as I was looking forward to this specific Mod, there's one thing I don't love about my GS4 and it's the white background on those Apps.
All of these worked great on clean rom 1.0. Thanks a lot this is what I was looking for.

Warning
Maybe I haven't done it correctly but, after copying and pasting the file "SecPhone.apk" using ES File Explorer the phone rebooted and the message "updating android" came up for a few seconds. I tried to restore from the backup that I had done before and that didn't work. So basically it worked. I just can't go back to the default settings and every time the phone boots up that message comes up for a few seconds. Does anybody know why that happened?
The 3rd and 4th link go to the same file. Is that correct or am I missing something?
I installed the 3 files and everything works except the Black on Black issue with SMS. Has any one found a fix for that?

Thanks a lot for the tip, as I've been trying this for some time and never figured that out, also, just to add something, after you delete the odex file, just restart the phone immediately as it will begin to give you error if you try to open the MMS app, after the reboot everything is GREAT, well at least as far as I can see.
Yea whoops forgot to add that. Glad I could help

Would be totally awesome
I would rather have the volume increased (bug fixed) than stereo speakers. I hope you don't like your ears to be blasted with the ringtone music as there is a gesture to pickup the incoming call by placing your phone in your ears (you don't have to swipe).

Well, that is a valid point.. It can be tweaked further though. Like switching off the top speaker when movement is detected, or using 1 speaker only for phone ringtone but use 2 speakers for other notifications.
Whatever it is, I hope they solve this.

Try this. It should play the ringtone when you're getting a call with both speakers now. What boost in percentage would you suggest? I don't have the Z2, just the Z1 so I can't test this by myself.
As always - You're doing it at your own risk.

About the boost, well, i don`t know, now the volume level is fine for me with 2 speakers, and i`m afraid to get the levels higher, to not to damage the speakers, i don`t reaaly know which levels are safe to increase....
olokos, what do you think, what percentage of a boost increase is more or less safety for the speaker ? 15-20% maybe ?
olokos, what do you think, the sound profile when call uses the same algorithm as a sound profile in walkman or not ? It ssems to me that sound on call and sound in walkman is slightly different, or am i wrong ? Clearaudio+ is on the both profiles.

Well it's a mod and its zipped, my guess would be that u put zip file in root folder of phone (as in main folder, not one called root), boot into custom recovery, install update from sd, then click this zip file. you need to have unlocked bootloader and installed a custom recovery, id also reccomend the repair thing in pc companion t get your sounds back first, assuming it works with unlocked bootloaders

I'll upload revert to stock in a moment.
Here's a stereo speaker mod (uses the earpiece as a "second speaker"), based off of work from ashirviskas and his G5 mod. I just made it compatible with the LG V20, which wasn't really all that different anyway.
Back up your original mixer_paths_tasha.xml in /system/etc/ then replace it with this one, set permissions, and reboot.
Stereo speaker MOD
Another great mod, thanks freebro!
Sent from my LG-H918 using Tapatalk
This can "potentially" damage the earpiece at higher volumes, use caution
Since you've messed around with the V20's mixer paths and understand how they work, could I ask if you could try another mod? I was wondering if you knew how to boost and/or optimize the bottom speaker by modifying the mixer paths so that it sounds more clear, deeper, and louder like the G5 speaker was?

If you are using Root Explorer (it's what I use for GUI filesystem operations), when you are in the /system directory, at the top of the folder list will be a line of text showing you how much space has been used / available, the status of the folder (yours is probably R/O) and a button that says "Mount R/W". When you click that button, it will request root, and then you will be able to write to files in your /system and sub directories. Once you're done editing the file, before you reboot, make sure you go back to the /system root and click the button again which will now say "Mount R/O". Then proceed with the instructions from there.

There's no apk for that. You need to modify build.prop for that and to do that you need root

Awesome! Root is getting better and better. Now to find replacement camera glass and wait for xposed. Feliz Navidad as my fiance would say!
