[Q]Need help update to R5A - Sony Tablet S

Hi,
I've got one Tablet S1(with 3G) one year ago. (I come from China mainland.)
Considering China version firmwares do not include GApps but I DO need the stuff like play store, contact sync, etc, I change the region code to UK.
Then, I made it updated to R2 and rooted via AIO tool by condi:good::good::goodTHANK YOU!)
Now, I want the R5A update. I've downloaded several 3G version stock firmwares but failed to install them.
Everytime the tablet reboots to the recovery attempting to install the update, the whole will be aborted after the verification.
And, it shows "Erohibit update as a result of checking version or base sku" each time.
I've made multiple tries, and failed every time.
Never make it via OTA, AIO tool or flasher by condi. All failed.
Not even I changed the region to China(what it was initially).
What do I do to make an successful update?
P.S. I used to apply something like "hack recovery" or what from the AIO tool, would it break the recovery?

[Q] Help.. Verification failed with OTA update

Hi,
I finally managed to put a htc hero recovery rom on my HTC Hero (Orange/Mobistar branded). I did this because the latest Orange/Mobistar rom doesn't support the OTA updates.. I frankly don't know why my device is Orange/Mobistar branded, since there is nothing Orange/Mobistar about it, except for the packing box. And the vendor ensured me it was an official unlocked release. Only, the HTC website doesn't share the same idea when I put in my serial number.
I succeeded to upgrade my hero with the generic rom needed for the OTA updates and I finally got the OTA message to update my phone. But when I choose install and the device restarts, I receive the following error:
Code:
RA-hero-1.7.0.1
verifying update package
no signature (216 files)
verification failed
I searched google and this forum, but the only solution I found was to install the orange branded rom, which doesn't support OTA updates, nor android 2.
Anyone knows a solution?
Thanks!

Wi-fi and Bluetooth error after manual update

Hi friends,
I have rooted stock rom with unlocked bootloader. when I recieved the latest OTA update notification and tried to update, this update refused to install.
then I renamed this file to update.zip and installed manually.
After that I have 1.43.531.3 software version but with not working wifi and bluetooth.
I have CWM recovery, unlocked bootloader and rooted stock rom with all bloatware inside and just want to have latest software, working Wifi and bluetooth.
Please tell me in details what should be my next step?
Regards,
Zaza
I had the same problem the other day. xboarder told me it was my kernel and to search the forums. I had no such luck. I had to start from scratch, which meant I had to follow the instructions for "Step 4. Restore your Amaze 4g To STock- (This means you will have amaze back to the way you bought it from store)". afterwards I started over from Step 1 - 3. Hope this helps.

Rooting and OTA Updates Problem

I have the GT-I9300 international phone, with the New Zealand-based stock ROM installed. I rooted this phone with ODIN straight out of the box (it came on 4.0.4) and the root went fine, CWM worked. However, when I was notified of an available OTA update, no matter how many times I try to install it, the device will reboot into CWM and say that the signature verification has failed.
I have tried to disable this check, but the device seems to "forget" that setting. I've also tried installing the OTA update through Kies, which just gives an "Unknown Error".
Is there any solution to this, to get the update installed?
I'm presuming here that the OTA update is simply an update and not a new firmware version entirely? The download was only 20MB.
Kies is your solution
Or downloading and flashing an updated firmware
OTA doesn't work on rooted phones...
At least it didn't on the ones I used and tried...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
If your phone is just rooted then OTA will work fine, the issue is when you install a custom recovery.
the OTA will fail at the flashing stage because the custom recovery will not be able to flash the OTA image (or the image won't let it).
Options are to use Kies, or better yet, download the rom on your PC and learn to use ODIN which is super easy anyway... and essential if you want to learn the root side of your phone better
Latest Chainfire root supposed to allow OTA .

Please try to install UK, then use adb pull /tmp/recovery.log and post here
Probably failing as there are two systems one is UK and the other is Chinese. Using flasher should change both partitions to Poland 3G (i think that is the one)

Can't update firmware, please help

Hi all,
I'm trying to update firmware on my Droid DNA. Currently I have firmware version 2.08.605.1, the latest before the last OTA update. Now i want to use RUU to try to update to version 3.06.605.4. It fails with error that I got wrong RUU, but I'm positive it is a correct one, because it shows firmware version. OTA updates are not working, showing me no updates. However, under Software update -> Status I see that the update was rejected by user some time ago. As far as I know there must be an option to install rejected updates, but it simply isn't there. Not sure what to do next. Please, help.

Nevermind now, I resolved the issue by first gaining s-off and then using the alternative method for firmware flash by using adb and fastboot in cle that can be found here on forums easily (latest ota for DNA).
