Your device isn't "bricked" and there is no such thing as a "soft" brick, the phrase is nonsensical as is just a made up phrase by n00bs for n00bs to label the times when they cant get system to boot.
We already have a bootloop thread that discusses all the different ways to get system booting again. I would recommend you use search button and read.
Hi, please search.

Okay so my phone is stuck on the boot screen, I don't know what to do.
I tried flashing a ROM today but when I tried rebooting it, it got stuck on the boot screen.
Can someone help me please?
I think it is soft brick. 2 type of soft bricked I faced.
-Boot loop at M logo : using CWM - wipe dalvik cache, wipe cache, wipe user data/ factory reset, reflash your selected ROM.
-flashing red notification LED, try this link
hxxp://modmymobile.com/forums/661-motorola-atrix-4g-development/560719-how-recover-soft-brick.html
replace hxxp in the beginning of link with http. Sorry, I can't post link since I am n00b.
Okay I'll try those two methods out, hopefully they work... thanks.
But wait, I have romracer's recovery menu, does that make a difference?
remember to wipe right before u flash a custom rom. number one reason why ppl get bootloops
Let me just start by saying i am aware that there is a forum already for this which says dont post any other threads about boot loops. but i have searched all through that forum and no one has responded to my thread. im hoping that by posting a new thread more people will see it. so here is the problem.
I tried lite'ning rom to root my phone and my phone got stuck in a boot loop. since then i have tried everything i can find on the forums. in recovery mode i have wiped to factory, wiped cache partition, wiped everything i could. i can access recovery mode and download mode but i cant force mount my external sd, internal sd or even cache.
i tried flashing with my stock rom and villain 1.1 but im still stuck in boot mode. hope someone has an idea of what i can try.
Hi,
I need help!!
I have been loading custom ROM's using CWM occasionally and yesterday when I tried to flash CM9 ROM my ATT S2 got stuck at boot screen. Then I tried to do a factory reset. Doing factory reset got me stuck at "Formatting Data" and it never moved from there for 1 hr then the phone started booting again. Ever since then I am not able to boot back. I have tried all possible options - every time I try I get stuck at Formatting /data. I tried installing Siyah-v2.6.14-att vis ODIN and tried to restore from my back up. It failed saying "Error while restoring / Data!". I installed factory stock rom via ODIN still the same. I tried wiping the data using darkside super wipe it too got stuck Formatting Data and nothing happened.
Is my data corrupted? I dont know what to do. Can some one please help? Should I try re-partitioning? I am bit scared to do that.

there are chances of the data partition getting corrupted... try flashing back to stock rom...
I've had my Samsung Galaxy S Showcase (tracphone) for awhile now and decided to root it. For some dumb reason I flashed a custom ROM onto it.
I had no problems until I downloaded Boot Animation. I selected a custom boot animation, rebooted my phone, and it loops at the animation forever.
I tried to restore using CWM and get the message "MD5 mismatch!"
I tried a factory reset, it errors every step of the way, then says data wipe complete. I reboot and it just keeps looping at the new boot animation.
I tried wiping the cashe, and formatting everything to re-instal the ROM. I select the ROM. it starts to install, resets the phone like it did the first time, but instead of going back to CWM to finish installing, it loads to the boot animation and loops.
I'm very new at this so I don't know what info you would need to help me out if at all possible. and if its impossible at least tell me that I'm royally clucked so I don't spend the rest of my life wondering =)
you can try to flash stock with odin there will be many threads and tutorials about it on the forums
Thanks for the suggestion, but I gave it to my friend who thinks he knows everything and he somehow turned it into a Samsung Mezmerize. Now a question about that. If I try and root it do I put CWM on it as a Samsung Mesmerize? I'm just very confused about everything now, do I treat it and everything I do to it as a Mesmerize?
My GS2 (Model SGH-S959G) is stuck on boot loop and I have tried factory data reset. It started to reset as usual then started right back into boot loop. It now just says 'deleting cryption meta data' when I attempt to go into factory data reset mode and then starts to boot loop all over. I also have the stock firmware for it on my computer and attempted to install it with Odin as per instruction I actually found on this forum (which is why I'm here asking this question ) at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982571. I followed the directions for flashing the factory firmware as listed. Odin read the install was a success and gave me the green PASS, however the phone went right back to boot loop. How can I fix this?
Thanks for your help in advance! I've been trying to figure this out all day :/

Go to recovery and And do wipe data/factory reset and wipe dalvik cache and wait for 3-5mins.
