Factory reset wipe - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hey I played around on the Gnex forbade while but this seems different...if I use the factory reset wipe in TWRP custom recovery, will it wipe my rom files that I'm about to flash? I guess if I put it on a SD card and remove it, it'll be fine...

Also that won't affect my custom recovery?

Nope ull be okay.

I'd keep root too right?

Yep it wont touch root/recovery.

I think maybe try one of the older versions. I remember that being a problem but I thought a workaround was found.

Use the 5.2 version to keep Vid Cam on that base.
Although this one 6.20Dev13 is supposed to be patched.
THREAD with links and info...
Ok, cause I flashed 5.2 and phone booted but no picture. I could hear the Thunder in the background but no picture

Make sure you clear caches (dalvik and cache) before you flash the kernel. Try going into recovery and clearing them.

[Q] Stuck on Samsung Screen

I need general advice, I have a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 , thats stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy 10.1 " boot screen. Someone gave it to me because I guess they didn't want to take the time to try and fix. I don't know what software it's on, but I know it's not rooted.....is there an easy fix to get it functioning properly or should I toss it in trash
Reflash it to stock through Odin, and should be good to go.
Everything you need is over in development.

Boot to recovery by holding down power button together with volume down until recovery and download mode appear.
Follow the instructions and it should reset to factory.

What about a restart?

Hold down back button? How about the multi window toggle in status bar pull down?
Thats all I've got. Good luck.

Cross p4x devices?

I have the p4vzw that has the least amount of support, i dont use any of the radios and will gladly disable them if flashing the recovery and or whatever is needed from another p4 device to make this thing run decently and NOT on touchwiz...
Sent from my SCH-I905 using Tapatalk 4
Edited for errors and bump

Like i said just now, make a nandroid backup, flash either a p4 or p4wifi recovery and try it. If it fails, switch back to the p4vzw recovery and restore that backup.
Sent from my GT-P7500 using Tapatalk HD
So far Wi-Fi one gets blank screen on recovery
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk
Will try others and non touch versions momentarily, I need to flash a real build on my tab...Lol
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk
Every recovery flashed just produces a blank screen in recovery

I used to be able to do it through twrp on my s3, but I don't see the option on my SS s4. How can I do this?
