[Q] Browser - Micromax A116

why is the default android browser too slow. Even opera mini is slow. But when i use dolphin and then use the stock browser it is blazing fast.
why?

Your question is like why stock rom is slower than custom roms!
Default android browser is made just for browsing whereas otbers like chrome, firefox or dolphin have been made for overall smoothness and perfect browsing experience!

[Q] Looking for new browser. Dolphin HD is often laggy

Sometimes I feel like its just as bad as the stock web. But I do like the copy and paste in Dolphin HD.
The opera browser is smoother than the stock browser.
yeah dolphin sucks! i'm thinking of trying the firefox browser
yeah firefox is a good browser u should also take a look at skyfire great browser
Is there a google chrome one out yet?
I liked skyfire, but I dont like all those random buttons at the bottom of the screen. I wish there was a google chrome one
Have you tried dolphin mini?
Miren browser is the best one I've found.
Sent from my rough sketch of a Vibrant on a brick.
Xscope is pretty good too. Seems to be nice and smooth for me.
Miren keeps opening up new tabs every time I open my web browser. I noticed I had like 12 tabs of the same screen :/
I noticed Xscope opens a new tab every time I open the browser. Is there a way to stop it?

It helps if you mention which ROM you are using to recommend a good browser, I will report experiences running Froyo.uvka6.
I use 4 different browsers on my phone, each for specific purposes.
For most sites I use either Miren or Dolphin HD 2.3.0 (it's an old version but it's not laggy like 3.x & 4.x). Miren has copy paste too. When I want to view Flash-based sites I use Dolphin (standard, not HD):
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mgeek.android.DolphinBrowser.Browser&feature=search_result
It's not as feature packed as HD or Mini but Flash videos play super smooth on this browser, probably due to low overhead.
Opera Mobile is kinda quirky, some sites still won't dislay properly (just like the desktop version) and flash support is limited to ads. There is one feature in that Opera Mobile surpasses all android browsers: The ability to download from file hosting sites such as filesonic, fileserve, mediafire, etc. that simply won't work with other android browsers. It's why I keep it on my phone, when I need to download Opera Mobile is the man!
I'm not a big fan of proxy-based browsers such as Skyfire or Opera Mini. My biggest beef with Skyfire is on certain sites like ESPN.COM you can't choose which video to play, it will only play the first video on that site!! Grrrrrrr!!!!!! I don't like the GUI either. Skyfire is worthless if you are running Android 2.2 or higher since flash is built-in. If you are running Android 2.1 or lower and want flash then your only choice is Skyfire.
Firefox is currently RC but sloowww and no flash support but so far the only android browser to support scrollbars.
There are a few others out there (xScope, Maxthon, UCWEB, Infinity, Boat). I'm going to give the same advice I always give. Try them all and decide which one you like best. All browsers have their pros and cons but it all comes down to personal preference.

That never happened to me but I did experience a few force closes with the latest builds so I went back to 6.0.5. It takes longer to load but is more stable than new builds.
I really love the opera mobile browser, its pretty smooth and faster than stock.
Lifehacker did a comparison of some mobile browsers recently:

I like Miren Browser.

Question regarding Galaxy Ace browser

Please check the following video from 0:38 to 0:48 to have a better understanding of what I'm asking for: youtube[dot]com/watch?v=OOcOWfg3A8I
As you can see, zooming in the Galaxy Ace doesn't adjust the text to fit the screen compared with the HTC Wildfire. I believe that the way in how the HTC Wildfire zooms works is way better than the Galaxy Ace because you can increase the text size to fit your needs and continue reading however in the Galaxy Ace it is impossible to read because you will have horizontal scrolling.
Is this the way in how the zooming of the Galaxy Ace works? Any chance to make it to work just like the HTC Wildfire?
Thanks.
The only thing I can think of is to use a third party browser like Opera or Dolphin. I couldn't find any auto-fit settings or anything so I'm not sure. But see if you like a third party browser and that should work for you!
Thanks for your input pwgerhardt.
Could any Galaxy Ace user please confirm that using a 3rd party browser like Opera or Dolphin is going to achieve what I'm looking for?
Yup. Dolphin browser is a better alternative. Works for me.

Opera mini is unbelievably quick in 2G browsing. Just try it.
Press menu key in the browser > more > Settings and the option is there....
many third party browsers support text reflow (dolphin's my favourite, opera, boat browser etc)
Both Opera and Opera mini have very good reflow (text zoom) support. In fact Opera invented dynamic reflow years ago and have very good algorithms to optimise page layout on small screens.
And if you use a cyanogenmod 7.2 build, go to cyanogenmod prefs > interface > reflow after pinch in to enable in in the stock browser (haven't tested it as opera is much quicker anyway).

I'm using the regular opera browser as I type. On edge and its still fast as hell. I always try out every browser that comes out and I always end up returning to Opera. Not the mini version though, the regular one
Yes, opera mobile is fast and is more compatible with regular sites, I use both; opera mobile for wifi and fast 3G, and opera mini if my connection is really poor. opera mobile also contains opera turbo which reencodes images and resources and can shave as much as 60% off a page load. And again the reflow support is top notch...
Opera mini's data shaving's pretty good too, it's turned 1.5gb into 477mb on my phone so far. Also I am in a no 3G area, with a PAYG data package, so Opera Mini is like Mana from Heaven! Occasionally it ***** up page format, but default browser is generally pretty good with its display. Sounds like I should get Opera Mobile as well as mini for the pages that don't display correctly. Then delete default browser forever...

[Q]

so, whats everyone's favourite browser for the android platform and why.
I personally like Firefox after changing everything in about:config to make it worth using as a uk user. although I find it very slow so mainly use Opera Mobile.
I've put a non exhaustic poll for quick response voting. sorry if your browser isnt listed.
i stick to the stock browser, since it's the smoothest running browser on my galaxy ace. also i never experiences compatibility problems on any website, so i have no urge to change the browser ..

Stock browser on all AOSP ROMs, the Sense stock browser just doesn't have that fluidity. Haha
My stock browser lock up every once and a while. So I switch to opera.
RE: [Q] Favorite Browser & Why
I use two daily use browsers and here they are and why:
I have Launcher Pro set up with the browser icon defaulting to dolphin I feel like its UI is closest to Chrome, which is what I use on the PC, it does well and has great options.
I slide up on (a launcher pro gesture) the browser icon and I get Firefox. It has better LDAP/Active Directory support, which you'll need if your employer is a microsoft-solution based shop... or at least you _might_ need it.
I voted for Dolphin since I use it more. The desktop user-agent settings option is nice to use and it's not buried in the settings, its up top in the menu.
I keep others on my phone, but those are mostly just to test sites I work on for good mobile compatibility.

Browser

Hi guys,
I' m tryng to find the best browser for the s tablet. What can you, suggest me? i m using dolphin but when i browse i see big withe portion of the screen not rendered. It take few second to render them but is hugli...
Thx
Hello!
I'm very satisfied with Maxthon For Pad 1.5. I't fast, it renders very well, and it has a lot of options. I'm using both Maxthon and Dolphin Browser for Pad Beta, so test both and tell me what do you think.
Dolphin is the best imo...
Personally I prefer opera. The rendering is very good. It just doesn't get enough credit. I strongly recommend it.
I can't make my mind up, I tend to wander between Opera and Dolphin HD. I've just had a go on Chrome for Android on my Vega tablet with ICS - beats anything on tablet S - so I can't wait for ICS on this baby !!!!!
I can't wait for ICS and Chrome for Android Beta, but at the moment, I'm actually using the Stock Browser. I love the Quick Controls Lab option for a properly fullscreen experience, although I previously liked Miren Browser (which is disappointingly phone-oriented, but still nice)
If it helps I prefer Dolphin HD myself. Just like how it works.
I've been using Boat, its pretty good, might give Opera a go see what all the fuss is about.
I too like the fullscreen stock browser as well

Looking for fastest Android web browser

Hi, I have been lurking around Google Play Store in search for the browser that will suit my expectations. Right now I am using Firefox Beta, but the UI is not that great for tablet (I am using Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 with 7 inch display). Also checked other most popular browsers like UC, Puffin, Opera Mini etc. but all of them look the same to me. Besides I heard that some of them like to spy on users. The most important criteria for me is speed and by speed I mean overall feel of the browser like: page loading, smooth scrolling and javascript engine. Cause most of the Android browsers are really sluggish, especially Google Chrome. So... what are your recommendations? I am interested in niche browsers as well. Thanks
