I've been crack flashing for like 3 years now and this has never happened to me. No matter what rom I download it fails in TWRP.
I have beans 19, moon v4, multirom, lab rats, tweaked, and meanbean ice downloaded before last night they still flash fine.
I've tried flashing Alliance 5.5, xenonhd, pacman 7/11 nightly, pa 3.65 & 3.67, vanir 7/17 nightly, and even that rom whose name cannot be spoken. They all immediately fail upon flash. Is it my recovery version? I'm still on 2.5.0.0. The only thing I haven't tried so far is updating the recovery, but it really seems weird to me that just because they released a new version I can no longer flash anything new I download? That doesn't make sense to me.
Any ideas?

I'll have to I guess I was waiting because it looks like people are having backup issues. It always skips md5 check.

I'd try updating recovery. And flash them again. If you are having problems with the newest recovery you can always download an older version and revert back. But it doesn't hurt to try!
What recovery are you on? I believe the newest one for TWRP is v2.5

I have to ask, are you sure you're running the gb rom bamf 2.1?

haha yeah i understand deff a gb rom. its v2.1 of the rom but it is 2.3.4 android. and it is stuck there than comes up with a force close window and stays there. and i flashed it through recovery, as if i am flashing a rom. if this is not the correct way i am going to feel ridiculous...

So it eventually booted and you got a force close? If so, that's strange, never experienced that.
If you get stuck again just reflash the rom without wiping data. It will restore the kernel that came with the rom.

You flashed it right. I had issues with a Chingy gingerbread ROM doing that same thing. No idea why. I think it might have something to do with the base. Not real familiar with that BAMF ROM. I had a little luck flashing a different kernel. Sometimes my only option was to wipe and restore. What kernel are you trying to use?
yeah, like it came up with the force close window but never went through a boot screen nor did it boot to the rom, but you can see that the screen is on. but it says black than the force close window pops up but doesnt allow you to select either of the options

What rom are you using?
If it's a Sense based GB rom, did you grab the Sense kernel?
If it's an AOSP GB rom, did you grab the Aosp kernel?
If it's an ICS rom, it won't work.
***EDIT
Via TWRP website:
Since TWRP 2.3 is based on AOSP jelly bean sources, TWRP now uses recovery API 3 instead of 2. Some zips may no longer work if the developer is using an out-of-date update-binary.
This API change should not be a problem on newer devices, but older devices will probably encounter several zips that need to be updated.
If needed, you can try using this update-binary that was compiled with current sources.
It goes in your zip file in the META-INF/com/google/android folder. If you're getting a status error 2 during zip install, then an outdated update binary is almost certainly to blame.

Ok thank you so much! FAST response lol. Would there be another recovery that is better to use or it doesn't matter?? Currently I am using your, I believe, ICS rooted debloated ROM stock/rooted. I was on liquidsmooth aosp and cm7 thundershed switching between them to get a feel for them... But for some reason I tried to do a full wipe and then reinstall from my restore of those two roms and try the leankernal, it's saying failed after I updated to TWRP 2.4.3

Dude so far no problems with 184mhz.. Speed is no issue, no lag, no reboots, but I'll have to put it through the 24hr test to fully see how it does. And I charge my battery to 100% when installed it, approx. 4hr 41mins with pretty much none stop usage.. at 72% now. On the old kernal I would have been dead..

Flashed this last night as well and didn't even notice whether the camera app was missing as I rarely use it on a tablet. I have since flashed today's nightly and the camera app is there.
Regarding the transparent notification/nav bars, it is some unknown performance thing specific to this tab.
Anyone else notice the settings are now non-tablet-optimized? They stretch across the whole screen like on a 7" tab or phone. Feels kinda weird... only glaring thing I see out of place.
I tried a tweak to get transparent bars and is true what Google said, you can see the difference in performance, it gets worse. What I don't get is that I tried it in a i9300 too (Temasek) and it works awesome. Hope we'll see a big update for Manta when the next

Exactly opposite for me. Could not get it to flash with TWRP 2.6.3.1 but installed CWM touch 6.0.4.3 and it installed just fine. By the way, does your twrp show 2.6.3.0 when you are booted into recovery even though you downloaded and flashed the 2.6.3.1 binary?

Not sure, out and about right now, I'll take a peek when I get back home.
I flashed TWRP with Flashify. Tried flashing CM11 using CWM Touch and when it failed it wouldn't boot. So I re-flashed CM10.2, booted, DL'd and flashed latest TWRP with Flashify, then CM11 flashed fine. Didn't take note of any version aberrations.

There is a thread by Captain_Throwback that provides all the information for flashing the new firmware for the new partition layout. It will update you to the new 4.13.651.3 firmware, HBOOT 2.10, and the 2.6.3.1b TWRP. At this stage, you can flash the NEW versions being released for most KK ROMs (AOKP, Carbon, SlimKat, BeanStalk, etc.). Look for "New Layout" or "New Partition Setup" or something in the change logs to be sure.
I suggest going this route. After the firmware update, your partition layout will be changed (so back up everything and be prepared to not go back to any old ROMs without doing a VipeRUU or similar 3.16 downgrade) and you'll be good to go for the new generation of ROMs.
Edit: Alleyoop! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2639180 (Read, read, read, understand, then flash.)

^This. You may be running 2.6.3.0 yes but it has to be the one with SElinux enabled. Flash the recovery in decks thread to be sure.
If you haven't run the RUU to update to 4.3 and change the partitions, you can't run any of the new ROMs that support that format. Be sure to read the OP's carefully for any ROM you are trying to flash.

If you haven't ran the RUU or updated your hboot to 2.10, just flash his recovery and you can still flash 4.3 ROMs too. If you have updated your firmware and hboot to 2.10, you can only use the recovery in Captain_Throwback's thread and flash ROMs that are compatible with the new format.

How will this differ from your Aroma'd version besides the lack of customizations of the install? Will you be Aroma-ing this ROM too with your own twist? Is this more or less stable than the International version we've been dealing with? Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to figure out which KitKat TW ROM is best and most stable for this phone. Seems like this Verizon ROM would be in the long run.
Holy ****, it's finally here after all these months!
Is it rooted, with everything functional? I had to go back to 4.3 because other 4.4 roms were buggy.

I recommend if your having trouble flashing using Philz Custom recovery uncheck signature verification and uncheck not to allow old recovery scripts

If you want to keep using TWRPI suggest updating to the lattest
