I just flashed CM last week and the camera isn't so great compare to the regular camera that TouchWiz has.
There is a good camera app that can give me the a better performence?
known issue, nothing you can do.
flash back to TW for a good camera
Try Camera360 from the Play Store.

I said try. I have when I was using CM. It helped my camera quality tenfold. It is not the same quality as the original camera but it is better than the terrible one which comes with a CM ROM.

I'm using this because it has some good effects. I can't comment on the stock camera, but it's certainly not better than the AOSP mod below that is my main camera:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746611
It is not possible to increase the camera quality above the ROM's capabilities. All 3rd party cameras use the existing libs and drivers. It may be the stock CM app is particularly bad, but do try the link above.

Has anyone implemented a good camera app for nine stock based roms?
By good I mean including slow motion recording and ultra HD?
I've searched and searched and cannot find one?
I assume from the lack of response that the answer is no?!
I dont know about an app for it but i can say the aosp roms camera quality is lower the stock based roms. that could be why those features are missing, as they dont have native camera access... search google for any aosp camera apps, universal ones might work...

Yeah. I agree. The quality from aosp roms is not as good. I've switched to a stock based ROM solely for the camera. But the stock based roms seem to deteriorate with time as the device gets more and more used and full.
All the camera apps I've tried I sent compared.
But I got this phone for the alleged excellent t camera!

This works well on AOSP ROMS.

Is the quality better than with the stock aosp camera apps?
To be honest, i don't know, i don't really use the camera that much. The app has some nice options though.
But reading again i don't think it does what you asked.

What is the best camera app that produces the best quality and resolution? Perfectly clear app has an option for 20mp resolution does it really do 20mp?
And there has been many camera mods that modify the quality which one do you recommend?
Stock camera
Sony block out the controls on third party apps so in terms of quality using the manual controls on the stock camera is the best way to go.
Not if you unlock your bootloader, in which case I think most other camera apps work better than Son'y camera.
I've tested Google camera and Open camera, and both gave good results and better than stock, on unlocked bootloader of course.

On Aosp/Cm based roms when controlling iso results in lag which makes viewfinder unusable...and in stock roms i guess procapture/open camera are the best since they allow you to use scenes in full 20mpx mode.

In my opinion, the stock camera is the best.
Although it normally takes photos in 8MPx (you can change that in kitkat) it has the fastest focus.
However you may try the HTC's camera (available in themes&mod section here).
It takes 20MPx pictures by default, but you can't really want more from a pic that the hardware offers.
Hello Guys
I want to Use the MIUI Camera App in a 7.1 Rom.
Anybody know how to extract the app and install this in a newer Rom?
I know that the . most of the 7.x Rom´s have Camera Issues and we are Happy to make Picture with them but to try a Slow Motion Video/ Timelapse or HDR without a Third Party app out of the Play store would a nice thing be =)
Greet from the
Maximaro =)
Same for RR ROM. Miui stock app takes better images.
I would love to have the miui camera app on this cm rom too, wow.
I don't think that it'll be possible... And also if you somehow do it, it won't work as good as when you were using it on MIUI... There are some better camera mods to use...
And also i have to ask that MIUI camera's quality is really that better? Or is the difference in the camera quality really noticeable?
I think the MIUI camera takes the best pictures. It's the only reason I haven't moved to a custom rom yet as my daily driver.
I was cm fan but when i tested miui i can't leave this system , it's much better than cm ,and it's more like custom rom rather stock Android

actually miui camera will need various of miui rom api's, so it is very difficult to port
Asked for the same before and from what I understood, porting that app will be super difficult. But I concur the camera app under MIUI is just that good. Would be mint to have it on other ROMs
Snapdragon camera works same as stock on MIUI (atleast I think so)
link?

Yep there is a big difference, if you get the device you will notice
without stock camera there is lot of noises in low light and non of the camera can take image like hdr pro mode in miui cam, and also the manual mode, some of camera enable manual but only limited like shutter speed to 1/s or the max iso to 1600, i tried lots of cam flashable zips or app store app none of them are good.:crying::crying::crying:

You can try this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/themes/miui-camera-port-kenzo-kate-t3670989 or this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/themes/app-miui-camera-ported-xiaomi-mi-a1-t3670607
This is ported from MI A1 Stock Rom. Works well on Custom Roms.
May not work on Oreo Roms.

Ah, did you try clean flashing other Roms? Top of it, Mido's custom Roms have camera bugs, like video recording isn't working blah blah. :/

I'm not a noob......Camera is definitely dark with 30 fps recording but with some apps it records bright but at about 17-19 fps

Ah, sorry for the late response, went off for few hours.
I wish I could help you on this, but I never clicked either pics or recording video on my Mido. All I heard was there are bugs with camera on mido custom ROMs.
While recording video its just stuck few seconds/mins later. And one who got omnivision camera, isn't working. Apart from that I've no idea about camera.
Did you try enabling camera2 API? It has anything to do with that? I guess.
I already use many other camera apps, Google Cam, OnePlus cam, Footej, Snapdragon Cam
But, all same.
I will try to enabling camera2 API
Thanks @sachin n
Btw my sensor Samsung not Omnivision
Screenshot Added
Using Google Camera
And Stock AEX Camera
With Samsung sensor i have the same problem with Mediatek or Snapdragon variants
Same here, in low light camera is very dark. AOSP video camera in better light condition is better and smoother than miui btw
well I read on russian forum, they use lumio app to get better video...

We're looking for something more stock, that works with all camera apps, maybe a mod for the ROM/kernel
Use moto camera it fixes it
I also have this bug, also with the Samsung sensor ofilm_s5k3l8. Sensor does not get set to the proper ISO or brightness or such, it is really bad. As asusm930 wrote, ported Moto G cam fixes this and is a nice camera otherwise as well. And it is the only cam I found so far that fixes it. You can get it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/themes/camera-t3667358
I have samsung sensor but only with OnePlus camera, I haven't this issue. So I use gcam for photos, and Opcamera for video

Do you use the version from here (v 2.0) or some other? https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...-plus-5-camera-port-redmi-note-4-7-0-t3656125
Looks quite good, and seems to give better color reproduction in low light video. Though the photo part is buggy. Flash light is not synchronized with shutter, so it basically does not work and HDR is crossed out for me. Bugger, I would prefer to have one app for both photos and video.
i have same issue
This is a fix to resolve dark front camera/ video recording, colour glitch, bad quality and everything else.
This is a port of Snapit camera from Lenovo.
Installation:
Download the zip and flash it in twrp.
Reboot.
You'll find a new camera app. Remove the old one.
Enjoy!!
Download:

**I'll try to update the app as new updates are released by lenovo**
Poor port. HDR not working. Switching to front camera causes app to crash.
