Yeah...Its mostly the same...AOKP sometimes gives better results..
but mostly depends on the apps u use and how much of ur RAZR ur using...
i Highly suggest using this app called(Both Requires ROOT though!)
"GREENIFY"
And if u want
"Juice Defender PRO/Lite"
My thoughts:
Mostly JB 4.2.2 based roms are not that gr8 With Battery life...as is NONkexec based STOCK 4.1.2.

I only have experience with one ROM (Aloysius 2.0.1 v12), but it is significantly better than when I was not rooted. I am impressed.

Based on endurance and speed.. try ICS by jusada or Infinity by nims... For stability stick to Stock rom

I only flash roms based on CM7.1/CM7.2 and sgs2 rom is based on stock.. Yes its right SGS2 has got better battery life but that rom has nothing to do with such battery life.

The best ROM is the one that you test and see if it fits to you.
Please don't ask wich is better.

[Q] Battery Life with custom ROMs

Hi there,
i am new into this custom ROM stuff and i been trying few ROM and now i am on the UltimaROM 2.3.2
but Battery going down from 100 to 84 in short time
Which is the best to have more Battery
and is there anyway removing the default SMS app and use chompsms instead ?
Nothing is best here. Just keep experience yourself with different rom, kernel and tweaks to find the best battery performance for your phone.

These things depend on how you use your phone, but system and idle seem high on your list. Screen and talking are my top two. Batteries have so many variables. I would try different ROMs and kernels.

Go to page one General and you will find stickys .
Alternative is to read the kernel posts in development section .
Or even that new fangled idea google search .

I think stock kernal is probably your best bet for battery life...
Hi everyone!
1st post on xda, but I'm new in android world!
Anyway, I'm using Omega ROM v27.2 (JB)/stock kernel and I experienced some battery drain issues. After getting BBS, I didn't able to point out what was the cause.
After many readings, I found a possible solution: in advanced WiFi settings, they advised to disable "Keep WiFi on during sleep". By default it's set on "always". They advise to set it to "never" but I prefer set it to "only when plugged in". I think it's more logical!
I don't know yet if it's efficient but I'm trying this and I'll come back later to tell you.

you could use phenomenal kernel for better battery life. it is better than stock kernel in terms of battery life but you need to check compatibility with the custom rom you choose
Foxhound Essential .2 with latest siyah kernel
Best Battery life I ever tried - I've used Foxhound, Criskelo, and Omega JB roms but the Foxhound Essential is the fastest, ram free (430mb), best battery life performance around (8hours extensive use with mobile date turned on). Try it its great! Thanks

Try latest siyah kernel - plus Foxhound Essential ver .2 - No bloatware and best battery life performance..
I flashed Phenomenal Extreme kernel yesterday but to test it properly I have to wait for Monday when I'll be at work.
I'm not a fanatic of battery life, I just want to find the right mix between performance & battery life. For now, I found the phenom extreme not enough smooth, I'll probably change it for the medium one in few days.

My best results with battery life has been with Phenomenal Extreme and VikingROM. I got about 6 hours screentime with wifi, sync, and lots of gaming. Though i think you can make almost any rom or kernel last about 5-6 hours screentime if you check your running processes and apps running in the backround.
I hv tried lots of roms
Psycho rom XXDLJ1 v 0.0.1 is one of the best
it gives u maximum performance and an amazing battary life
Though you can flash different ROMS and kernels to experiment with battery performance, most reputable ROMS like AOKP or CM10 Wong yield much difference. Too many other variables. I've heard Trinity kernel is a good one, but I just got an extended battery. I found it to be the most sure way of extending battery life.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
I've tried omega Rom and phenomenal kernel but these didn't really give me any more battery.
I found the stock kernel and Rom gave me the best battery performance at around 10 hours with WiFi on and surfing internet and maybe a quick go of a game or two.

i thought it wasnt a problem cause i asked in terms of battery life..
Too many variables determine how much usage you're going to get out of a charge to be able to definitively say "rom/kernel X" will give you the best battery life.
That's why these threads are frowned upon (essentially a waste of time; you won't have the exact same experience with a given rom/kernel as me).
Only way to get great battery life is to read/learn/tweak/read some more/tweak/etc/etc. All the info you need is on this site, you just have to do a bit of digging to find it.
for me stock roms always have best battery life..
yeah asking a question like whats the best rom is stupid but he asked a concrete question, whats the best rom in terms of BATTERY LIFE. i think its legit but im not a mod to decide. still, it hasnt been removed so i think im right. im also curious btw. thats right u can tweak a lot and improve batt life but there are definetly better roms for battery life, there are some with good performance, others have great features etc.

[XU] What is the best rom for long battery life?

My wife own a Xperia U device. I've been flashing it to ICS (eXperience v2 which was the best I guess), JB (a few, all lagging), back to ICS and now down to GB (GB-Rocks) to try and get the best battery life. I must say I'm not happy with the result. The most I can get is about 24 hours.
My wife's demands are minimal. She's using her phone for calls and whatsapp. Most of the day it's idle. All she want is it'll have the longest battery life as possible. She also hates it when I put a new ROM as she needs to get to used to a new interface/system (I've also unlocked the bootloader).
So... What would be the best ROM/Kernel/Governer combination to have the longest battery life?
Thanks in advance.
Bro, GB is the best for battery - its best optimized between performance and battery, all other versions are laggy and battery drains faster.

each rom has different features.some users said that v5 is more stable than v6. I personally use v6 and have no problems.
Don't have any lags at all so far.
It's not the baseband the difference between those versions, as the dev provided a link to flash in your phone is the st25a instead of st25i.

I've flashed that one on my gf's Xperia U last weekend. She's complaining that there are really slow moments and the Phone and Messaging Apps open up really slow.
Would a custom Kernel solve this, or might it be the best option to revert back to GB (I'm thinking of going with GB-ROCKS v3?)

I'm a GB-ROCKS v3 now. Don't like it. Bad battery performance. drains 20-30% every 6 hours with minimum usage.

@DaRk-L0rD, I flashed the Terra rom v6 as you've mentioned, and guess what. It's draining like hell, when in use.
So I went reading the post, and it seems I'm not the only one complaining. So... back to square one.
I NEED A NON DRAINING ROM. PLEASE!
I don't care if it's GB, ICS or whatever. I just want a drain free rom.

Really sorry about that mate. I don't face any problems at all personally. The battery lasts for 1,5 day. I am using xda app, fb, whatsapp, browser and all of them on data.
Which apps do you use? Maybe you are using different apps and that's why you have the drain.
Or maybe you're not actually giving enough time for the rom to settle and the battery cycle to sort itself out. You need at least a couple of full charges and use in between to know what the battery use is gonna be like

Maybe it's the kernel? I'm on stock. What are you using?
Have you changed the home.apk as suggested in the thread?
The U is my mum's phone and is currently on stock ics (debloated) .89 firmware. She gets a couple of days out of it but hates how laggy it is. So in a couple of weeks when I i see her again (we live 230 miles away) I'm putting on GB rocks for her.
Besides the way i see it, if you're phone lasts all day then that's all you need. Charge it when you're asleep as why not? You can't use it then anyway

I'm on stock kernel. Didn't flash a custom one. Did you try also greenify? It's a free app from playstore. Stops background apps, only those you choose. You will notice the difference!
