Hi,
Im trying to download RUU's from the link provided on this site but each time I try to extract the ROM some of the files are always corrupted.
Can anyone tell me what Im doing wrong?
Cheers
Don't extract, just launch it.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 4 Beta
What do you mean just run it mate?
Every site I read says locate the Rom file on boot and extract recovery and boot images them flash?
That is for when you download custom rims. Ruu is an exe file which needs to be run via windows, when you have your phone plugged in.
Make sure you have locked your bootloader before running the file or you will receive an error. Or if you have never unlocked your bootloader then just run the file, follow instructions and wait for the process to finish
Cheers

Yes, but be sure to lock your bootloader first.

Hi..I have created this tool to help people new to Android or HTC for that matter to flash kernels and recoveries without any pain..
You put recovery.img in the Recovery folder and open Recovery-Flash.bat
And it will flash the recovery.
You put boot.img in the Kernel folder and open Kernel-Flash.bat
And it will flash the kernel.
For all flashes you need to have USB Debugging enabled and have to be booted in normal OS.
It will do everything.
MAKE SURE YOU NAME THE RECOVERY recovery.img AND THE KERNEL boot.img otherwise this ToolKit will not work.

My phone is too bad..... I have a month without flashing kernel...why...I don´t know...
I have follow all the tutorials....all!!!!!!!!

Hoping that some developer can create a tool within the phone to flash kernel. Rather than using a PC

Curious, is this the same type of tool that is implemented in Hasoons toolkit, and the fastboot flasher that the MaXimus cook (can't remember his name)? Just wondering if it's the same type of thing???

It was possible on the rezound with s-on. Con247 wrote a script that turned the kernel into a ph98img.zip that was flashable in h boot then all you had to do was delete or rename the ph98img.zip

You are correct I done it a million times that way but we were S-OFF then
Say I want to reflash any same Rom again to get back to default settings, do I have to fastboot the boot.img again, or I can just go into recovery, delete caches and dirty flash with no need for boot.img? Thanks guys

boot.img contains the kernel if you used a diff kernel then you have to flash it again assuming you want t-o revert back to stock kernel

flashimagegui was an app that could flash recoveries and kernels through the phone itself, it was a great app that didn`t recquire you to boot into recovery and such, not sure it supports the one x though.

So I've had this phone unlocked and rooted since the day I got it. I haven't got around to flashing a custom ROM's yet because of the pain of fastboot flashing the kernel. When I had a rezound you could flash a kernel in hboot by Packaging it into a PH98IMG.ZIP. I booted into HBOOT on my one x+ it seems to be looking for a pH 63IMG.ZIP so I guess my question is is this going to be possible with this phone?

How is typing in "fastboot flash boot xxxx.img". A pain in the arse compared to packing things up in .zips and copying them to the sd card

Download and run the RUU for your device.
p.s. these type of things go in Q&A

Hello,
I've done that yesterday
First you need to flash a stock recovery, then install the ruu corresponding to your device. And you need to relocked the bootloader.
By this way, you will be able to get futur ota update.

The downgrade is out there, DO NOT POST A LINK TO IT!!!! The thread will get closed again. Use your googling skills.
Has anyone tried this method with the bootloader unlocked? I'm just confused why the bootloader has to be re-locked.

When you run an RUU the bootloader has to be locked. You can always unlock it again. The HTC One toolkits make it really easy. Just save your email with the unlock.bin

Yeah it works. Im now s-off

i was in the same boat... make sure you are running the "ARUWizard" from the extracted folder and not the zip file. also do "fastboot reboot-bootloader" without the quotations. also update your drivers just to make sure. i got mine from hasoon's toolkit

When you relock you don't loose s-off, so after flashing the desired firmware ruu all you have to do is unlock again with the same blob you used to unlock originally. Then install a recovery and root again. It's not difficult, just time consuming.

Have you tried a gingerbread stock Rom?
Also, you can download the ph85img.zip from my viper Rom or arhd and put it on the external sdcard and boot into bootloader.
See if that helps.
Make sure after you flash the update, you go into recovery and flash the Rom of your choice. And make sure to delete the ph85img.zip from the sdcard so it doesn't flash every time you go into bootloader.
What recovery are you using?
4 ext is preferred for my Rom.

Doesn't one have to have a RADIO update compatible with the version of such-and-such?
I don't remember which such-and-such we refer to, but I remember reading about flashing a radio to match something. Maybe someone else can drop a line here.
