[Q] rooted devices,superuser can't get root access - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,guys.
Does anyone make android 4.0.4 devices rooted by superuser?
I open my superuser:
downloading manifest okay
parsing manifest okay
latest version 3.1.1
checked install version 3.1.1
fixing database okay
unpacking sutools okay
check current install path= /system/xbin/su
Downloading new binary okay
gaining root access fail
anyone knows what to do ?
I have my device rooted by means of UnlockRoot, at first I think the version of superuser is low.
So I download Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip , exact it and replace the old version superuser and su .
I click the root on the software and it seems that everything work.
But the fact is that I can't find superuser in my android devices and manually install superuser by myself.
And then the phenomenon above appears.
I don't know what to do now, guys. It seems that I have rooted the devices and I can't get root access.
It is more dangerous than I don't root the devices.:crying:

Put your device into download mode and restore to stock using Odin. Then try to root again. If the same thing happens, go back to stock and find another way to root. Cheers.

100% root access?

i'm quite confused. I believe my phone is partially rooted. I installed SuperSu but it says that i do not have the Su Binary installed. under root checker it says that supersu is not installed but busybox is. I successfully installed Root Explorer and am able to view system files but not edit them.
anyways, i got a verification error when trying to flash CWM-supersu in recovery. I followed al the steps and downloaded all the required recovery.img files etc. I am tempted to flash a custom rom. but afraid if it gets locked up during the process, as there is no back up option with the stock recovery.
Any suggestions?

Update the binaries in superSU settings or reinstall root with CF-Root with Odin, see item 1 in my signature.

Yes, flash CF-Root with Odin.
Update your busybox to latest version.then update the su..it will work
Then cwm problem can be solved by using a manual cwm(new cwm from someone)...

No SU bin and no recovery on Éclaire - how to flash a new ROM?

I have a quite strange problem on my HTC Hero (GSM).
Quite a while ago I flashed a backup of my stock 2.1 onto the phone because I forgot to titan-backup some apps, but in the process I seemingly somehow broke my recovery mode. Also since that point in time my superuser was ranting I should install an update of the su binary.
Now lately I tried some way to flash to cyanogenmod because of all the bloatware in stock HTC Éclaire. In this process I tried installing clockwork rom manager and titan. clockwork didn't have the rights to install recovery, regardless of the generally working root (universal androot states the device as rooted and at that point superuser worked as it should e.g. for ghost file manager and quikboot). So I googled and found that there was an alternative to superuser called supersu. I installed that after uninstalling superuser and that only gave me errors. Now I seem to have no working su bin, supersu only tells me anything I do fails and superuser gives me the following when trying to update the su bin (translated from German):
Downloading manifest... okay
Analyzing manifest... okay
Latest version = 3.1.1
Checking installed Version = legacy
Repairing database... okay
Unzipping sutools... okay
Checking current install path... /system/xbin/su
Downloading new binary... okay
Aquiring root access...
Remounting /system as rw... legacy
Copying su to /system... okay
Button saying "that was cool, do it again"

After that seemed not to work I tried flashing the recovery from fastboot, but that "remote operation" is "not permitted". Same goes for system remount via adb.
This means also, that in the current state I cannot flash a new su via update.zip as I don't have a recovery mode anymore.
Someone on the net suggested to install an OTA-update to fix most system files and reset root. Sadly the following update for my hero is buggy. It's a patch for the peep twitter client that broke my boot partition a couple of times before and every time I had to reset to Android 1.5 again via recovery - so I won't try it as I know I don't have recovery (only the red triangle of death)
Does anyone have any trick up their sleeves that could help restoring either the su bin or the recovery mode?
[edit]
just noticed I wrote a question about the semi-brick from the mentioned peep-update some time ago - including a solution. I will try that later on, but if someone figures something else so I can still backup my data before wiping everything I'd still be thankful for a hint.
[edit2]
I did reset the handset with a 2.1-RUU via hboot, but seemingly the recovery partition is still broken and I could not find a Clockworkmod Rom Manager-version that is a) running on 2.1 and b) actually working on my device to flash recovery and thus achieve anything... But at least I seem to have SU again, even though it is noted as outdated and I am unable to patch it.

[Q] Super User Binaries?

I have a Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet (SGP561; Build: 17.1.D.0.417) which appears to be rooted. (Settings > About Tablet > Status > Rooting Status: Rooted) however neither SuperSU or Super User appears to work. (and without Super User privileges the Root Checker apps always say I don't have root access even when I otherwise would) No matter what I try, it always says a variation of "There is no SU binary installed." (SuperSU) or "The Superuser binary (su) must be updated." (Superuser, and no logs created when it fails)
Is there any method of installing those binaries? Maybe through a USB cable and USB Debugging?

You can try to download supersu from here http://www.appsapk.com/supersu/ and install if via adb.
Of you could also root it using easy root tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784900
I rooted my device using the second method and everything went fine.
Let us know what happen

As I mentioned in another thread, Easy Root ended up being the solution. It gave me errors like it failed, but after rebooting the device everything started to work fine and I was able to successfully install SuperSU without error.

This method MIGHT work... There's also a chance that it could soft brick, so I wouldn't try unless you have the ability to reflash the original firmware.

And nothing is working for rooting my phone.
Most of the important stuff can be backed up to Google. If you need to backup your calls/texts, they're apps for that. Then copy your internal storage to a PC and that should be the main important stuff.
Finally i tried kingoroot pc app and it rooted my phone but doesn't install any superuser app in my phone, then i installed superSu from playstore and it worked.

Lineage Os 14.1(7.1.1) Problem With Rooting

I had recently upgrade my s3 using TWRP recovery from 4.4 to 7.1 lineage os
But I am facing problem with rooting.
I am not able to root my device from
1)TWRP recovery
2)Odin(CF Auto Root)
3)Kingroot(Android and PC )
I have installed TWRP properly
PLz give an idea to root my device
I have checked in developer option
That is ROOT ACCESS
Their is 2 Option only
1)Disable
2)Adb only
But I am not able to get root access any of this Or Adb only
Previously I tried with different ROM
Their is option of
1)disabled
2)Apps only
3)Adb only.
4)apps and Adb
But in this ROM I am not able to find suggest me any way to fix this
I installd 4 time s same ROM to get this root access but failed
Check below screenshot
In SuperSU application
No su binary installed
https://dropfile.to/bRO4jKc
https://dropfile.to/MMWxWrp
As far as I'm aware the rom should be pre rooted and all you'll need to do is install supersu from googleplay and then update the su binaries from within the supersu app.
Set it to option 4 (apps and abd) and go about installing supersu first as the app from googleplay and if no joy then as a flashable zip file.

Are you sure you flashed the correct addonsu???
As far as i remember, the s3 doesn't have 64x, flash the normal arm version (arm32x).
Bro i have tried to flash ARM AND ARM X86 but it says
update failed in twrp recovery
So i flashed with x64
It was done but not worked properly

It works, you will get an error in recovery, but when you boot, you will get root access normally, i don't why the error happens, but it's harmless anyway.
Root fix
I'm not sure if you have fixed it yet but just in case if this helps the way I got around this is by simply downloading the latest super su zip from the official site and manually flashing via twrp kinda sucks but it works the first boot took a little though so if you try this and it takes forever for your device to not just wait because it can take up to 15 min the first time. So basically as long as you have twrp you are rooted technically it's just based on the rom wether they chose to support it if not the zip always works but you need the app too.

S3 has arm32. So neither x86 not x64 would work. You should've flashed addonsu.zip for 32.
